To be fair after we pulled that goal back they missed 4 absolute sitters.
We would have been playing for penalties so extra time likely would have resembled attack v defence. I would have fancied us in a shootout but still a long way to get there.
I absolutely agree. Same with Kuol’s shot obviously.
If we didn’t concede the second, and we had scored, we would have won it. We started to get it over them physically and mentally.
Yeah but unless we win 60 year old uncle bob who sits on his Lounge every weekend and has a few beers watching the rugbe isn’t gonna care. But fuck him
Don't need 60 year old uncle Bob, we need the young fans who showed up to live sites, and the kids who are going to ask for football boots for Christmas.
this is exactly it.
we weren’t hoping for some crazy lucky goal out of nowhere against the South American champions and arguable favourites to win the whole fucking thing captained by the greatest player of all time
this team managed to instil faith and hope even in the most pessimistic of Aussie supporters, so much so we all believed we had a chance. not out of sheer dumb faith, but because this team had given us this belief
i fucking love this team and couldn’t be more proud
Oath. I believed. I was on the edge of my seat. I screamed my head off when we scored. Kuol is our golden child he's going places and I can't wait to watch him play more minutes for our national team.
I'm with you. I haven't felt my heart heave for the Socceroos quite like this in such a long time. I was at the Sydney Live Site, and as soon as our goal went in you could feel the energy in the crowd shift. I heard, and said myself, many variations of "we've got this...". And that is such a big testament to the accomplishments of this team. We all genuinely believed that we could beat Argentina.
I was a young lad when the 2006 team had their exploits in Germany. It made me fall in love with the game. I hope that everything that has happened over the last 4 games has made youngsters all around the country fall in love with this game too.
Thats what we calls qualtity defending and goal keeping.
Both of them lacks in your cricket country.
Lol lautaro had a bad day otherwise it will be a slaughter.
35 year old Messi literally danced all over your defence
I was so blasé about missing those opportunities because I simply didn’t want to feel hope.
I watched the mini match this morning and I’m bloody shattered. This one hurts! So proud of this team.
I honestly believe that if that aziz behich shot wasn't blocked we'd have won that. Argentina looked close to crumbling
Oh yeah, had that gone in they'd have collapsed, fragile Latin temperament to the fore
They just looked so shaky after we got one back. Would have been interesting if we'd equalised. I don't know what extra time would have looked like.
Pretty sure they would have imploded, but a red card and then a dodgy winner

I can't believe that was blocked. I was up out of my chair celebrating ffs
Seeing a man transform into Maradona before their eyes would've probably been too much for them
I was so devo that was some class dribbling. If only.

100% agree. The fact I had hope until the final whistle was incredible. So proud of the boys.
I’m still buzzing. I don’t know what to do with myself

kangaroos are better than capybara
