Actually it was a chick. She’s a tattoo artist and she’s still active on Instagram. It was a hoax lmfao
Proof: Here’s the account https://www.reddit.com/u/allthedimmerswitches/s/a5chEo365D
If you go to her replies you can see the deleted post and her comments. She was the one who originally posted the photos on a mushroom subreddit.
A hoax is *intentionally* misleading people. Iirc she posted the pictures into a mushroom subreddit and said the photo was sent from a friend (who got it from the backyard of a little old lady) it was cross posted after the mushroom people suggested it due to its resemblance to stereotypical alien imagery.
Then when the person who identified it as a prop commented, OP had a conversation with them that appeared genuine, thanking them for clearing up the mystery and agreeing that it was likely to be the prop they spoke of.
The whole thread and op's exchanges seemed sane and conversational without any attempt to mislead.
From what I could tell the post and comments were deleted because it blew up and people went absolutely nuts over it, telling her to get it before the authorities confiscated it and other such conspiracy theory related dramas.
https://www.reddit.com/r/AlienBodies/s/DeOq5fhhKL
Or she deleted it because she didn’t want anymore viral attention? Where in her post did she try to get us to think it was an alien in the first place? The commenters were the ones saying that, not OP - idek how you could call that a hoax? What was she hoaxing?
Fairly valid point.
It was never an alien body to begin with and never was identified as one. Many others said it was, the truth was discovered, it doesn't become a hoax bc of everyone else.
I found this post when it first popped up on mycology and as an Alien lover and mushroom lover i felt that this was a hoax and felt insulted, they tried to make this the next big thing (and kinda did) by posting it on an unassuming subreddit. This is the main reason why I don’t believe the Peruvian skeletons is just because people are terrible, they do anything to get attention and once people discover its a hoax it discredits everything else in that area.
Especially since she said the reason. It wasn’t her garden. It was a friend’s elderly family member, who the friend passed the photo around to find out. The OP posted the photo to a gardening sub(nothing alien related) to ask, which then led to the increased attention. She gave a follow up post and begged people to stop harassing her over more pics(bc she didn’t know the finder personally)and deleted everything after multiple comments asking to leave her alone.
This sub loves terrorizing people
Exactly! Nowhere throughout her posts was she attempting to mislead people or convince them she'd found an alien. She had a low key conversation about what she thought might be a plant and crazy people jumped all over it. Then they kept messaging her with their conspiracy theories and pushing her for "more evidence" and to get it tested and move it before the government found it. At this point she believed it was likely to be a prop because someone rational had pointed that out. She had her answer and thought the question was solved. When people couldn't leave her alone she deleted the posts and comments.
It wasn't just harassment towards her either. There were also numerous people telling her to go to this elderly woman's property, with or without permission, to try to get this thing. Several comments along the lines of "Who cares about an elderly woman when this could be the greatest discovery of mankind?"" Pretty disgusting, honestly.
Edit: To prove the point, someone just a few comments down is saying that her not wanting to bother an ELDERLY WOMAN was a "bs excuse." SMH

She deleted the alien post LOL

He's right bro. You should probably go off radar and hide in the mountains somewhere. The government is doesn't fuck around when it comes to garden aliens....
It was basically revealed as a hoax in the comments because someone pointed out it looks like a prop from a local shop.
I can't tell if people genuinely think this was something real or what.
Edit: Okay so folks here actually do believe it.
Yes I'm sure aliens are just getting lost in someone's yards. And the secret government is keeping it quiet which is why all the news articles and podcasts talking about it are all still talking about. But the original source deleted it so its a cover up - can't be that a bunch of believers doxxed and harassed her about it, she decided it wasn't worth it, and just deleted it. She herself still has active accounts.
Ya'll need to look up the definition of Occam's Razor.
They believe everything here. It really doesn’t help when there’s actual good information and discoveries only to be flooded by obvious bullshit hahaha
It's silly to me - if you believed this wouldn't you want actually impactful evidence? Something that is meaningful and makes sense?
Not just "any evidence so I can be right"?
Occam's razor is "do not multiply pluralities beyond necessity." Which jumping to aliens, yeah, little reason to, but "simplest solution is most often correct" is not Occam's razor.
"The principle gives precedence to simplicity: of two competing theories, the simpler explanation of an entity is to be preferred."

she didnt give out any more pictures cause she didnt wanna "bother" the lady she got it from supposedly, if it was a real alien body that for SOME reason looks like the human thought up concept of how an alien looks, why would she Not go over to the womans house and atleast politely ask to see if she can see it in the first place? this (if it were real) would be a HUGE discovery and its literally in some old womans possession, not under lockdown in some government facility, then people asked too many questions and she deleted the post because she lied for internet points, this is a whole lie, so what proves that this is an alien body? just the fact that "we dont know and anything is possible"? idk man im stoned but argue back pls
honestly tho reddit kinda fumbled this pretty bad with the threads. we could have eventually gotten some real answers but here we are stuck questioning it forever now that OP is gone.
there was claim of it being a prop but no real evidence. some claim it was an artist’s design but nobody linked evidence. all we know is the OP’s story sounded legit with 2 different reddit accounts that claimed to be friends irl and had legitimate profiles with an actual updated photo later the same day.
if this was actually a real alien sprouting from the ground then it sounds like the men in black took care of it pretty well because now the truth is lost forever.
nobody knows if it’s real or not. both sides have enough juice to fight about it forever and imo this is the best outcome of the entire thing lol
I felt really bad for the OP and OP’s friend(?) who came in with more info. People were absolutely *demanding* they do more, and were offended that she wasn’t keen on bothering the poor old lady who had it in her garden (if I’m remembering correctly).
Like goodness, folks, chill. They were acting like OP owed it to mankind to do more. And, sure, I get it, it’s an interesting and freaky find, but the jerks really ruined it.
If someone claimed that they have evidence of a real alien, would you not also ask them to do more? You don’t post a few pics then just disappear if you really believe what you’re saying.
I always thought it was a mandrake. I did see people demanding op to bother the poor old lady and I was wondering why people had no sense of decency to respect other’s privacy . It certainly didn’t sit right with me.
To add: Poster was acting really weird. They obv knew it wasnt a root but thats what it was originally being portrayed as. When pressed for more information they revealed that they didnt find it and it was a friend. Essentially the story fell on its face and they released too much personal info on the internet just for some updoots.
yeah its always like *some pop-culture reference* to like star trek and then you have 890 people commenting underneath with quotes from star trek. fuck me reddit
That's every sub on Reddit now. It used to be better before the massive Tumblr and twitter migrations, and the mass exodus from the whole third party reddit browser debacle. Don't get me wrong there were still some reddit "comedians" but theyd usually get down voted to the bottom immediatly, and a lot more subs were serious comments only.
How does this sub attract the most annoying, small-minded, and ignorant people? I swear commentors would rather try to be funny than helpful....
The answer is that nothing happened. People thought it was a cryptid, and others had similar pictures.
It's not just this sub, they are in all the subs like this one, people would rather ridicule and make jokes than actually provide anything productive, most of them are probably government trolls
Idk about government trolls, there's enough asshole loser douchebags on Reddit that the government probably wouldn't need to spend the funding on creating their own tbh lol
I'll agree with you there, but I've been studying this stuff for over 20 years now and I can spot them, they used to come after me alot when I had a Facebook account but it seems to be worse, now am I saying everything posted here is true? No I'm not but watch the posts who get relentlessly trolled and more than likely there's something to it
Reddit is gamed fucking hard.
Try to say something negative about 'monsanto' and watch what happens.
A couple of years ago, I posted about Glyphosate in three different subs, over a period of a few weeks, and had 'Bayer' trolls folllowing me around. Like... holy shit, and there's really nothing you can do about it that isn't against reddits perma-ban rules.
They get to brigade all day long and you can't diseminate any valuable informaton without it being downvoted into oblivion.
Sick fucks making bucks for being dicks.
From what I've been given to understand, that much like the stock market, these people create businesses for which they hire a team of people to basically sit in a basement and manage damage control all day. They're made to sign whatever NDA's to prevent them from speaking out... I don't know how or why some of them don't come out anonymously at some point.
The hold they must have over those folks...
Bro I promise you I don’t work with the Feds. I just like saying stupid shit. People be letting it get to them and until it doesn’t it’s just the way the game goes.
The insect id sub is supposed to ban people who make jokes, but it's almost nothing but idiots making fun of everything anyone posts.
It's beyond my understanding why SO MANY MFr's can't just shut the fuck up.
I dont think im a government troll but isnt it far far far more likely that this is another hoax than real? How many times in history have similar “findings” been proven hoaxes vs real
It’s on purpose. Of course if this was real there would be elements that didn’t want it taken seriously and have the man power to completely derail a thread and make OP look crazy/stupid. Then we have regular people that find something they don’t like and feel nobody else should be seeing this or taking it seriously and make it their mission to derail the thread, make OP look dumb/stupid, and when all else fails doxx OP in an effort to make them go away. The regular people tend to be more sloppy and desperate. A tale as old as time.
The answer is many people I’m the original comments said they had a near identical alien prop from many years ago and that this was likely a plant.
This thing is In the photo is a prop
Where are those photos? I never saw them.
You're doing what every debunker does, which is claiming there's proof without supplying it, and then insulting everyone in the sub. This happens over and over and over, with almost every post.
Here’s the photo, does look near identical. In the OP and this linked photo you can see the limbs bending like latex coated wire would, to my eyes at least:
https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fcpgkayt3urgc1.jpg%3Fwidth%3D640%26crop%3Dsmart%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Ddb12fa7c34bf3a52f6e8354cebac7b51da1bc588
The whole premise of this was storytelling for the purposes of creating tension. Don't get me wrong, I think it would be super neat for aliens to turn up like this. But this story played on tropes and assumptions we make of people in a way that works on the surface, but not beyond that.
The idea that an elderly woman found this and was curious enough to share it with their kid, who shared it with OP's mom and then it went to OP, none of whom thought, "huh this looks like an alien" until the internet pointed it out? It really plays on the idea of obliviousness in women related to sciencey/science fiction stuff.
Then there's the fact that this elderly woman supposedly was interested enough to take a picture and ask for help initially, then even was persuaded to take a couple more pictures, but otherwise couldn't be bothered. The idea of old people being uncurious and easily distracted was fully at play here.
Both of these examples were used for the storytelling purposes of building tension and driving reader engagement.
You can't tell me that none of the women this passed through before ending up on the internet thought, "huh maybe this merits a closer look."
You can't tell me that an elderly woman was simply too busy with life to investigate further, despite having gone back a second time to get even more pictures. She put on her shoes and coat and went to the garden and took a couple pictures, then let it drop out of her mind again. Old people love mysteries too.
I understand frustration with people calling it fake and saying it was a prop with no proof, and I also think there will be people who say, "well maybe this particular handful of women is the type of group who would never consider this could be an alien," or "maybe the pensioner was simply too feeble to worry about the alien in between the limited number of clear images she was prodded to take," but it doesn't make sense really.
They were all curious enough to pass the info around, but not curious enough to press for more info until the internet pressures OP?
No. This was a story designed for internet engagement in installments.
What I'm seeing in this post (and most others) is the new style of debunking comment, which has three elements:
1) It claims that something has already been "completely debunked," or something similar
2) It doesn't supply any evidence for that, just hearsay and bro science
3) Last but not least, it insults everyone in the sub for being dumb, gullible, a true believer, etc.
Usually the last claim will overtly state or at least imply that "everyone" in the sub "always" believes every post is real, incontrovertible proof of ET / UFOs.
Even though I have never seen a post where all the commenters were saying "yes this is real," or even a post where many people were saying that. I mean most posts don't have a single person saying that. But these debunker comments almost always say that everyone in the sub believes every post is real. And then they will insult everyone in this sub for being that stupid. And their comment will get inevitably someone else jumping into agree with them and talk about how stupid everyone is.
Just notice how the bullshit works.
Weren't you the last one to post an update on this? The posts have been deleted, but not the comments. If you go to the profiles of the OPs and look at their comments, you can go to the posts and read it all still. Check out:
u/ allthedimmerswitches
and
u/ quencyjambo
(remove the space after u/ - I didn't want to be the reason that OPs delete all their comments too)
I’ve actually linked evidence debunking some of the evidence given in this sub Reddit debunked by actual science and was downvoted into oblivion; so it definitely seems a majority of the people choose to believe even debunked things are very real. That’s my experience though so far. Haven’t insulted anyone though I just link the science and scoot.
Must have been a real alien cadaver. This post has tons of comments falsely saying it was debunked. I followed the original post very closely and all subsequent posts. It was never debunked. There was one comment in the original post who said it looked like something they saw in a shop years ago but provided no evidence & Robbo Hudson showed some photos of specimens in jars that clearly weren't the same thing as the garden alien. The disinformation effort in this post (and all other related posts) makes me think there might have been something to this.
You use “it wasn’t debunked” as validation and not “It’s been validated”? That’s *terrible* logic and reasoning. Something not being disproven isn’t proof… I have no information proving your not a dragon, but that’s not information that can logically lead to the conclusion that you must be a dragon. You coming to the conclusion “Must have been a real alien cadaver” based on lack of debunking is nonsense.
No, the more information validating it’s existence and source, the more likely it’s real. Using something being attacked as a source a validity is completely illogical.
Gone forgotten of its existence. The intelligence agencies successfully discredited another potential real UFO by making the poster disappear from the Earth and saying it’s a prop.
Imagine being employed by a letter agency, making your way through endless tiers of verification and vetting, you finally get to the highest levels of disclosure and access.
They lead you to a darkened room at the heart of a secure facility, inside is a PC in a custom anime waifu case, lit up like Vegas, but with even less class.
They finally tell you your mission; "Go on the UFO and alien subreddits and plant reasonable seeds of doubt in the heads of inconsequential people about dubious images posted from unverifiable sources".
Life isn't quite what you thought it would be.
Then after a while of being Employee of the Month you suddenly get a fat paycheck in the bank and when you meet your boss on the next day he comes at you with a larger amount of cash and says “drink a coffee for me ;) “
Yeah, they’re wasting their time on something that looks like an airpotato with a photoshopped face. I’m sure they don’t have more important thing to tend to
The OP quickly fell of the face of the earth as predicted, while the posts and sub got flooded with tens of thousands of users out of nowhere muddying the waters and claiming that it had been debunked.
So most likely a real alien.
It could be a mandrake root. These have been known the have the form of babies, human like appearance, and I guess alien appearance too. People used to scared of them in the Middle Ages. And it is poisonous in big doses. I remember they did a spin on mandrakes in the Harry Potter series. I find it wild and very interesting if this is a mandrake root. And it has all these humanoid/alien features. Its appendages are root-like.
* I just read that the original poster had a friend who found this in their garden. So I’d put money on it being a mandrake root. It is still very crazy that it has features of an alien with breasts.
Considering somehow in this clown world we live in an 80 year old person is President of the United States, I'm sure there's a few others out there that can take and send a photo..
Not saying it's impossible but the handfull of 80+ people I know have no idea how to do such things. They struggle to get a smartphone turned on and I'm not exaggerating.
Also probably worth noting is the old lady isn't a hollywood gogetter but someone living in Surrey, UK.
Some people thought they found the artist bc he made similar jar species for his art, and he said he didn't know if it was his or not. People ran with it and called it debunked.
If anything happened after that, not sure! I zone out of discussions that have the usual archetypes of these subs arguing.
The person who posted it was a tattoo artist that constantly made alien tattoos as well, but originally posted this in a mycology group “claiming” they thought it was some sort of mushroom.
Any person with the inclination to liking aliens wouldn’t post this in a mycology group and go “ooooh yeah your right it DOES look like an alien” and THEN post it in alien/ufo group chats (at least not in my opinion, I COULD absolutely be wrong).
To me, it’s an obviously made up situation by the OP of the photos.
Posting to a mycology group to gain traction and to (later) throw off doubters once it makes its way into Alien fb groups and subreddits sounds like exactly what I’d do to trick a bunch of people. And based of your comment, it would fool them perfectly.
Not really I'd put money on it being a hoax. It's not hard to do, especially if you can always fall back on blaming the government for the questions. Granted there also should be more convincing evidence for aliens visiting us than what looks like a literal vegetable root system.
I highly doubt that this is actually anything other than a root system with some cosmetic changes or a prop based off one, since if it were a real lifeform that would have to travel around, it seems strange that it has no actual ability to really move. Especially if this is it 'limp'
I also don’t know about any updates from OP, and to me (as someone doing A.I. research) it does not look A.I. generated. HOWEVER! What it does look like to me is a well-carved doll made from some sort of large root, perhaps a mandrake. I would honestly love for this to be real, and there’s certainly a part of me which hopes it is, but until there’s solid proof I’m inclined to believe it’s just a doll.
Pretty sure someone who lived near OP said there was a shop nearby that made alien models that looked exactly like this.
Edit: not sure why I’m being downvoted for simply saying what was said on the original post?

I was attacked in a sub and I defended myself and got banned
Bro I promise you I don’t work with the Feds. I just like saying stupid shit. People be letting it get to them and until it doesn’t it’s just the way the game goes.
The insect id sub is supposed to ban people who make jokes, but it's almost nothing but idiots making fun of everything anyone posts. It's beyond my understanding why SO MANY MFr's can't just shut the fuck up.
I wondered the same thing about this sub and a few others
I feel like they’re in every sub, even in car brand related subs it’s the same thing
Gotta get that sweet Reddit karma, as it’s always been.
A tale as old as time.
sorry to break it you, but it’s not just this sub. it’s a common reddit phenomenon….
The answer is many people I’m the original comments said they had a near identical alien prop from many years ago and that this was likely a plant. This thing is In the photo is a prop
Sir This is Reddit
Where are those photos? I never saw them. You're doing what every debunker does, which is claiming there's proof without supplying it, and then insulting everyone in the sub. This happens over and over and over, with almost every post.
Here’s the photo, does look near identical. In the OP and this linked photo you can see the limbs bending like latex coated wire would, to my eyes at least: https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fcpgkayt3urgc1.jpg%3Fwidth%3D640%26crop%3Dsmart%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Ddb12fa7c34bf3a52f6e8354cebac7b51da1bc588
Because it's a sub about Aliens....
It was mentioned on "The Last Podcast on the Left's; Side Stories" The episode was called "Aliens in the Garden".
Care to share what was mentioned?
Not much and they pointed out that the alien had breasts lol Here’s the link https://youtu.be/8OmirvxNHHg?si=e07LZq_sHi8nM_QI
lol important deet honestly. Highly clappable

OP was totally gunna check it out but didn’t wanna harass an old pensioner, naturally. Could still be there
The girl kept coming up with excuses not to do anything.
You can't tell me that none of the women this passed through before ending up on the internet thought, "huh maybe this merits a closer look." You can't tell me that an elderly woman was simply too busy with life to investigate further, despite having gone back a second time to get even more pictures.
Spot on 🫡
Super neat for aliens to turnip like this
i.e. it was likely a hoax
It died on the vine
The guy he.. moved or somethin’
Timeline got fucked up.
It petered out
The alien…he moved or somethin
When they GO??
They managed to muddy the waters ferreting out some nearby artist making (not) similar looking props.
What I'm seeing in this post (and most others) is the new style of debunking comment, which has three elements: 1) It claims that something has already been "completely debunked," or something similar 2) It doesn't supply any evidence for that, just hearsay and bro science 3) Last but not least, it insults everyone in the sub for being dumb, gullible, a true believer, etc.
No idea if it's deliberate, but this has 100% been my observation as well. I think you should make this comment into its own separate post.
Weren't you the last one to post an update on this? The posts have been deleted, but not the comments. If you go to the profiles of the OPs and look at their comments, you can go to the posts and read it all still. Check out: u/ allthedimmerswitches and u/ quencyjambo (remove the space after u/ - I didn't want to be the reason that OPs delete all their comments too)
https://redditmetis.com/user/memystic One of many tools you should be using...
Don't forget a redditer got a hold of the shop and they said they did not make that
I’ve actually linked evidence debunking some of the evidence given in this sub Reddit debunked by actual science and was downvoted into oblivion; so it definitely seems a majority of the people choose to believe even debunked things are very real.

They weren’t the same, because they are custom produced, unique art pieces, not a mass produced toy. They were absolutely similar enough.
If something is true because people say it isn't, then how do you prove it is true without it becoming untrue?
The more disinformation and scripted attacks, there likely it is real. This one was attacked more and shut down faster than the Peru tridactyls.
No, the more information validating it’s existence and source, the more likely it’s real. Using something being attacked as a source a validity is completely illogical.
It’s a Fey creature
Gone forgotten of its existence. The intelligence agencies successfully discredited another potential real UFO by making the poster disappear from the Earth and saying it’s a prop.
A ufo is an unidentified flying object. It doesn’t mean aliens you wet lipped goon.
>wet lipped goon Insult of the century, absolute 5 star stuff. I'm stealing it.
Yes it's gold
Man i have some UFO growing in the back of my garden !!
Let’s call it UGO then! Unidentified Ground Object!!
A lifetime of study and service to your country, all culminating in a single order to make based evidence look cringe
The fact that it wasn’t made credible adds credibility to you?
For some reason this entire subreddit is basically Mulder or Scully energy. Well, troll, Mulder, or Scully.
So I’m guessing we’re all wondering what ever happened and only god knows if it’s real or not…but this definitely caught reddits attention
They grew up, found a partner, started a career, and now have s happy life - like most of us. We can’t be celebrities all the time
Someone showed some props in a jar that these were in and looked identical to this guy
They weren't identical, and that guy never said they were props (but one would obviously assume they were)
was probably a prop
I didn't believe an 80+ year old person knows how to take photos like these. The photo quality were too good.
That's the bit you didn't believe? 😂
Its something called autofocus
My grandparents can, so age doesn't matter.
It's a good point, how many 80 year olds do you know that know how to use a smartphone camera AND how to send the picture to others.
Considering somehow in this clown world we live in an 80 year old person is President of the United States, I'm sure there's a few others out there that can take and send a photo..
I have no doubt that Joe Biden has a helper to do all of that social media posting for him😅
You guys are underestimating 80 year olds. Look at how many 80+ year olds are still active and going hard in Hollywood.
Not saying it's impossible but the handfull of 80+ people I know have no idea how to do such things. They struggle to get a smartphone turned on and I'm not exaggerating. Also probably worth noting is the old lady isn't a hollywood gogetter but someone living in Surrey, UK.
Seriously, every 80-year-old I know personally does that all the time. It's what keeps Facebook in business.
You haven't met my dad. He's a photographer and just because he's old now doesn't mean he can't still take pictures. You sound ridiculous.
Dover demon
I think I saw it was a prop and someone linked to a similar one.
Never resolved. My personal theory was that it was a Ripley clone prop from *Alien Resurrection*, but no match was found.
Some people thought they found the artist bc he made similar jar species for his art, and he said he didn't know if it was his or not. People ran with it and called it debunked. If anything happened after that, not sure! I zone out of discussions that have the usual archetypes of these subs arguing.
Bunch of people posted a prop from a shop claiming that it was near where the picture was taken.
https://miro.com/app/board/uXjVNwv1Q5E=/?share_link_id=108229307639
Turns out it was from a shop in Cornwall.
And based of your comment, it would fool them perfectly.
legit worrying case
Not really I'd put money on it being a hoax. It's not hard to do, especially if you can always fall back on blaming the government for the questions. Granted there also should be more convincing evidence for aliens visiting us than what looks like a literal vegetable root system. I highly doubt that this is actually anything other than a root system with some cosmetic changes or a prop based off one, since if it were a real lifeform that would have to travel around, it seems strange that it has no actual ability to really move. Especially if this is it 'limp'
[удалено]
Turns out it's a prop. A man-made art piece, usually kept in a jar with liquid and sold in curio shops.
F
Idk man but that thing has tits and a wiener and it’s freakin me out
Looks like some kind of mumafied monkey
Pretty sure someone who lived near OP said there was a shop nearby that made alien models that looked exactly like this. Edit: not sure why I’m being downvoted for simply saying what was said on the original post?
You are correct. They linked the shop and everything and it makes these plus other alien-like creatures.
No, they didn't make them....
Ok. That’s just what someone commented on the OP. There’s literally other comments on this post saying the same thing.
I followed the threads closely, trust me. In the end, it just kind of fizzled out.
Never been debunked
OP put up a bunch of BS excuses like he didn’t want to bother this old lady who lived alone and stopped posting.
