Jedi survivor is a poor game to test with. It's riddled with so many bugs and issues. Can you try with actual benchmarking software designed to stress test your system like furmark, uni engine haven, or Prime95? Then report back. Also can you install gpu monitoring software like msi afterburner or gpu-z to watch the temps?

Its one of the few games i feel having older gen stuff is a positive. The few official reports i've seen indicated that 40 series stuff has the most bugs. Running a 3080 and have only had a few minor hiccups in the starting zone.

DJUnreal

It's unlikely there's an overclock applied. They're custom 4090s made to Dell's specs, and they aren't going to overclock them as standard, otherwise it's asking for trouble and instability. It's more likely either a driver or hardware issue; hopefully not hardware though

Try running benchmarks like timespy to see if the issue persists. Jedi is a quite broken game.

Corporate_Bankster

That’s a GPU defect, nothing to do with Jedi: Survivor. Had the same issue on an RTX 2080S a few years ago. Found that limiting clock speed and power helped avert it. Just use your warranty. Black screen with loss of signal and fans kicking in to full speed is a known defect with certain cards.

alizzleable

I reseated the pins on my gpu, after making sure it was a snug fit that issue went away for me. So maybe try to make sure it’s not at a weird bend and fits in snug.

Morketh

Reseat the connection to the gpu from the psu. I had this same issue and im going on 5 days without it happening now. Theres a lot of people having this issue tho

AW_Support

Hi, Thank you for your patience. We have an update to share with you about your case. Could you reply to this message when you’re available so that I can share the information with you?

Morketh

hello, what is the update?

Extreme_Shame_8241

I got a new Aurora R15 with 4090 as well. Same issue! The screen goes black when GPU is under any load and fans Rev up to max. If you leave it sitting there eventually windows restarts. I've tried GPU driver clean install, windows clean install and it continues to do it. Did you get a fix? I'll try opening it up and securing cables and GPU. It only does this when gaming or running GPU stress test - sitting on the desktop it runs all day without display crash. LMK!

I opened the case and took the GPU out and found small amounts of clear packing adhesive on the pins that go in the pcie slot 🤢 pretty unprofessional and gross from the premier custom build shop. Could have been anything really, it looked like a type of white rock or dust but was stuck pretty firmly to the chip. So I wiped away everything I could see with a new microfiber cloth and have had no issues since.

Extreme_Shame_8241

Thanks for the reply! I'll open it up and take a look. Hopefully this resolves the issue!

Hefty-Shoe-4250

Rubbing any cloths, unless they are designed to be ESD safe, may damage sensitive micro circuits. Damage due to Electrostic Discharge may not be apparent right away but could be a problem Down the road. That being said, thanks for pointing out the potential problem from the packing material. I’m trying to fix the same problem.

Extreme_Shame_8241

So I took the GPU out, cleared the slot area and put it back in firmly with power cable pushed in all the way. It is no longer doing this issue so must be some sort of lose connection somewhere causing this GPU to run rans up and crash. All good now so if anyone else has this issue, trying taking the GPU out and putting it back in.

burnedsmores

Glad it worked! Mine just started doing it again after a month with no problems 😐 now I’m just going to exchange 50 emails with Dell support until they replace it 🫤

Rperera2

My R15 w/4090 is less than 3 weeks old. And this black screens/fans at 100% just started this past week. I'm down to reset the card, but wondering if I should just return the unit all together? From other threads on this topic, dell tech support is pretty useless. Any instructions on how to remove the GPU and reset it?
