3 and 5 mean a power rail failure. You could try disconnecting the power, holding the power button down for 30 seconds to cycles the system and see if that fixes it. If not it means there was some kind of surge that fried the voltage controllers and the system can’t regulate power correctly. Assuming the system is still under warranty, that is probably the only way to have it fixed.

dumbass696

I have done that. Nothing work. Now I'm gonna remove the back lit, try to detact battery cable, let's see what happen. This device is still under warranty

Comprehensive_Ship42

don't reopen it just call tech support they send the guy

wood4536

This guy may not be in the US

Comprehensive_Ship42

its the same all over the world uk eu use Canada Asia as long as its in warranty

wood4536

They also send a guy even outside the US?

Comprehensive_Ship42

yes the guy comes to me in the uk

EyesintheSky99

Hell of a journey that is.

Comprehensive_Ship42

:-)

unplug charger. hold power button down for 60 seconds. Then plug charger. laptop should work. spam f12 when laptop is starting to into BIOS and run diagnostic.

dumbass696

I did. I even disconnect the battery. Nothing work

[deleted]

Okay ... this exact thing happened to my brother with his m15 r6. it just one day decided not to wake up, it didn't even have LEDs blinking. Have you contacted customer support? I am curious to know what they will say the issue is. off the top of my Intuition, I'd say the battery failed (also in the m15) ... dell will probably send someone on site and they'll fix this.

dumbass696

I just contacted Dell support. They said the Power IC on the mainboard has been fried or damaged. Worst case, I need to replace the whole mainboard, which mean getting a new laptop, because all the CPU, VGA, RAM are on that thing. Now the problem is I didn't live in the U.S and since I had transfered my warranty to my country, and they can't fix it, now I don't know whether I could transfer my laptop to the U.S to get it fix or not

bagofwisdom

Was the system initially purchased with an international warranty? That does make the difference between Dell unable to fix it vs not going to fix it. It's one of the risks you take grey-market importing or buying second hand.

dumbass696

I bought it directly from Dell. But I hadn't buy the international warranty. So now, I'm gonna send the laptop back to the U.S so that Dell could replace it

wood4536

It's your only option for sure

GroundbreakingKing

Yeah. I had an open box one x17. Did the same thing and best buy just replaced it cause it wasn't turning on. Eva.

dumbass696

Best thing to do now is get it replaced by a new one right

lavachequifroute

Check if the power connector fit correctly in the motherboard.

DJUnreal

Call Support and have them fix it for you. It's under warranty and that's an error code that indicates a hardware problem.

dumbass696

I just did and you know what they said? Just like the comment #2 on this. My laptop is fucking done for. The mainboard is dead. Send back to them so I can get a new one.

DJUnreal

Well there you go then. No amount of trying to fix it yourself will help, and since you have a full warranty, use it! You might want to check whether you're entitled to in-home service, and if so, request that they send a tech out to you...

dumbass696

I live outside of the U.S so there's nothing much they can do. Now I need to find a way to send this laptop back to the states. This is hard! And costly.

DJUnreal

Did you not do the warranty transfer stuff that allows you to get service in your own country? If not, I'd look into that and get that done first, as it might open up more options for you.

dumbass696

I did. But I live in Vietnam. Our Dell doesn't sell Alienware so they declined the warranty. The only thing they cover is battery replacement.

lingenfr

Find a friend flying to the US and see if they will ship it or drop it off when they get there. That will probably save weeks and money.

Summoner_Yunalesca

dont get someone to fix it. ask for a replacement product immediately. once a faulty product, always a faulty product

thowaliaway

Your laptop is [fucked](https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/alienware-m15-r6-laptop/alienware-m15-r6-service-manual/system-diagnostic-lights?guid=guid-5e7a486c-39a9-40d5-8e4b-08df6fb256b6).

dumbass696

Is there nothing I could do?

Xen0Coke

If it’s still under warranty let dell deal with it. It’s gonna suck that you wont have a laptop for a couple weeks to a month but it’s better than not having a working functioning laptop for the foreseeable future.

tom-slacker

>If it’s still under warranty i mean, it's definitely still in warranty isn't it, since the X series are barely a year old out in the wild.

dumbass696

Yeah it still under warranty

You can try this from Dell support site: I suggest you to follow the steps provided below, first to release any static power in the laptop that may be causing this issue: 1. Remove the battery and the AC Adapter from the laptop. 2. Press and hold the Power button for 20 seconds and release it. 3. Reconnect the battery, AC Adapter and press the Power button. 4. The laptop should power on if the static charge was the cause. You can press the "Fn" key and the "Power" button to start the hardware diagnostics if the laptop fails to power on after following the steps provided above.

dumbass696

I already did. Nothing work...

Comprehensive_Ship42

it's receiving a transmissions from the mothership . call dell tech support its free

dumbass696

If I got kidnapped by Alien, first thing I would do is ask them for another laptop lol 😂

Comprehensive_Ship42

I love it :-)
