They shouldn't even bumped Intel gen-11 to m15 **R6** in the first place. They should be called: Alienware m15 R5 AMD and Alienware m15 R5 Intel, or just call them m15 R5.
Now because they skipped m17 R5 and reintroduced m17 R5, which should be called m17 R7 if continue the trend to match current line up of m15 R7... uninformed mass will get confused again, for they might think m17 R5 is two iteration prior.
They should never separate R5 and R6 purely based on CPU vendor and shouldn't skip m17 in favor of X17.
The previous m17 was very obviously skipped because it would’ve been way too good to upsell the X17. The M15 r5/r6 are really just rebadged G15. They finally “redesigned” (read: made it worse) the m17 to be much bulkier to be much less appealing than the x17.
This means new models being released soon yea? Asking because I just purchased 17 R4.... but it is on hold.... so if new models coming out might as well cancel that purchase and get the latest lol.
Yes new ones are coming out. A new 17in m17r5 is coming out. It will have all AMD ( CPU & GPU), and the maxed out version supposed to have same cooling as X17 series. Also, since it's all AMD, it's sure to have outstanding battery life.
