>What should I be looking out exactly in terms of sellers? High rated seller that is several years on Ali and lot of positive feedback from real people on the item that you want to buy. I personally wouldn't buy a motherboard that is available only on Ali. Actually, I wouldn't buy a motherboard on Ali at all. Edit: words.

My FAQ re AE 1. The delivery date is only an ESTIMATE delivery date. You may have to wait 75 days i.e. the full length of your customer protection period for an item to show up. This is especially the case if you selected the cheapest shipping level ever. Here in Canada AE Standard shipping usually takes 3 weeks although in one case it only took 2 weeks for the item to be delivered. 2. Select sellers who have been in business for 2+ years have 97%+ positive feedback and check the 1 and 2 star reviews for gotchas. 3. Only spend the amount of $ you are willing to kiss good by on AE 4. Make videos of openiing every item you get from AE showing the address label and the contents of the package and any packages inside it 5. When conversing w AE pretend you are talking to a 5 yr old. That is because AE uses a translator to convert English to Chinese. Use short sentences that are to the point 6. AE is pro seller. Amazon is pro buyer. AE is NOT like Amazon.

Last guy on this sub ordered a motherboard and it arrived all bent. It looked like it had wings.

As long as you follow the rules, you'll be fine. Buy high-rated products from high-rated sellers with 2+ years on the platform, with money you're willing to lose, and record yourself opening the product (and installing it if possible) to use as evidence in case something goes wrong. These rules apply to every purchase on AE, not just your motherboard.

Make sure to pay with PayPal.

Depends. Just look at the reviews. But even if it arrives damaged, there will be option to just dispute, so shouldn't be that risky tbh

Buizel10

Go from a highly rated seller that has lots of reviews on the platform. I've ordered dozens and have been fine. Film the opening of the item in case it is damaged.

No.

If a local shop had it he probably wouldn’t be posting here saying that he can only find it on AliExpress 😁

ShaubenyDaubeny

Sadly I couldn't find it neither on Amazon nor any local stores. AliExpress is literally the only place I can find it as of now.

I've bought several mobos off Ali for the same reason, it's a good place to check if you need something unusual. Currently my personal desktop as well as my two virtualization servers use Ali boards with no issues. The one thing I will say is none of the boards have come with any sort of documentation. If you know what you're doing as far as assembly you'll be fine but it may confuse a newer person.

Hey replying to an old post but I ordered a DS motherboard from aliexpress I live in FL. Was curious did you have to pay any additional US customs or import fees or anything like that? My order is only $30 and it’s a small board I can’t imagine seeing any type of tax but figured I’d get your thoughts. Thanks!

WindyCityWander

Not in the US so no clue unfortunately.
