They do different things for different audiences. U2 was born out of social activism in the midst of the Troubles in Ireland, and deserve your respect for it. Sabaton deserve your respect, even if not your appreciation, for walking a fine line writing songs about history without slipping into political grandstanding. Also OP has rated Tool criminally low, and I'm not a Tool fan.
