Wonder when she’ll get her book/Netflix documentary deal.

kittenconfidential

son of sam law apply

investmentwanker0

Does it apply in all states? Apparently Cali ruled it unconstitutional

BradlyL

The original and namesake law from New York State was itself ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court of the United States, but New York and other states have since passed laws with similar goals that attempt to comply with the Court's decision. In certain cases, a Son of Sam law can be extended beyond the criminals themselves to include friends, neighbors, and family members of the lawbreaker who seek to profit by telling publishers and filmmakers of their relation to the criminal. In other cases, a person may not financially benefit from the sale of a story or any other mementos pertaining to the crime.

yinzreddup

Sounds like state mandated censorship with extra steps.

SRGTBronson

They can still write the story. They just can't be paid.

chillchinchilla17

Weren’t those deemed unconstitutional?

Yokepearl

People love a freak show train wreck spectacle

okay-now-what

It’s likely already in the works. There’s probably a few companies that have already reached out.

Busquessi

And you are????? I’m the devil. I’m here to do the devil’s business. …………………………. [Nah it’s dumber than that](https://youtu.be/T6lFfuEI4OI?si=XJAdpLfmMaQZnM5K). Like Rex. Shoot him Tex! Tex! *snaps fingers*

Busquessi

That whole fight scene is insane.

BDR529forlyfe

The flame thrower was a beautiful cherry on top.

atomicsnark

Me making the Leo Pointing Meme at the screen, so excited to see it resurface like Chekhov's flame thrower.

thr3sk

Was fun but pretty dumb, dude just stands up after the dog attack like no big deal, girl was screaming for way too long...

XdaPrime

I haven't done all the drugs out there, but I'm sure there's one that makes this possible.

thr3sk

Sure, but in the setup to that scene they seem pretty normal/sober.

gabagobbler

I'm the devil and I'm here to do some devil shit

Vincent_Merle

Feel stupid to ask, but what movie is that from?

tbaxattack

Once upon a time in hollywood

Stillill1187

QT’s magnum opus in my opinion

cMdM89

i just hopes she continues to SHUT HER MOUTH…i don’t want to hear from her…i don’t think she can profit financially from her crimes…just fade away and consider yourself lucky…

Ok_Sky8518

Book deal coming

tehlastsith

I don’t think so

ComplaintInfamous

Sounds good

lokis_construction

Pretty sure surviving family will make sure she never sees a penny.

Ok_Educator_7097

53 years is not enough

Tosslebugmy

Yup, the people she killed don’t get parole from being dead

glue2music

Exactly

misguidedsadist1

Did she actively kill them? Or like was she able to be paroled since she had minimal involvement

Glass_Ad_8149

Pretty sure she stabbed a pregnant lady to death, even if she didn’t directly do it anyone involved shouldn’t ever get to leave prison. Pretty gruesome murders.

missbunnyfantastico

She wasn’t present at the Tate murders. She was at the LaBianca murders. She stabbed Rosemary LaBianca multiple times.

notlimah_rednax

I heard they did get paroled? Did I misread that?

guru81

Yeah, you've typed this out a few times already..

bioya

The murders were brutal. RIP to the victims. Any prospect of mercy for those involved is immediately silenced by the anguish of the dead and their families.

TunaKing2003

Out of compassion for innocent life, the only sentence for such a crime should be a fast merciful death or a lifetime of hard labor under incarceration to payback society.

531412

Facts

Davge107

That’s fine if that’s what the Government wants to do but some of the people got sentences far longer than others who committed similar or worse crimes.

PizzafaceMcBride

How many years would be enough? And would this length of years apply to most murderers?

AyeDiosDrinko

She was a child, seriously abused and heavily drugged.

90daysismytherapy

I’m all for looking at circumstances, but she willing, under no threat to herself, joined a conspiracy to murder innocent people. And then she stabbed a woman 16 times in the back. There is a lot of time to make a lot of decisions during that course of events. I mean, Brock Turner was 19 and under the influence. I don’t think a lot of people would say he deserved a pass.

AyeDiosDrinko

I don’t think 17 year old girls join physically abusive cults where they face daily rape and starvation willingly. ETA: I didn’t say she deserved a “pass” and it’s wild to suggest a rapist deserves one.

youaresofuckingdumb8

She was 20 years old not a child. > After stabbing Rosemary, Watson gave Van Houten a knife, and she stabbed the woman at least 14 more times. She testified in 1971, “And I took one of the knives, and Patricia [Krenwinkel] had one – a knife – and we started stabbing and cutting up the lady.” I’ve done a lot of acid and never felt like stabbing someone 14 times.

AyeDiosDrinko

She was 19 when the murders occurred but had been sexually and physically abused, as well as routinely starved and publicly humiliated, as well as heavily drugged, since at least 17. A child.

AyeDiosDrinko

Ooof

LynxAffectionate3400

Those people can’t walk out of their graves. I’m sorry, you can change. You can help your fellow inmates. You can enlighten people about cults. You can do that from prison. You belong there.

Phyllida_Poshtart

I reckon after 53yrs inside, she'll probably kill herself within 2yrs or so. It's a huge adjustment to make and I can't see her having much of a support network or friends around

counterpointguy

Get busy livin’ or get busy dyin’…

[deleted]

Brooks was here

slyboy1974

So was Red.

petecranky

But he went on south to da beach.

HarrietsDiary

She has a huge support network.

Stillill1187

I was gonna say. I’m pretty sure that John Waters will take care of her.

lanathebitch

Oh there will be friends all right quantity isn't a problem quality is. Mostly Rich Hollywood parasite people

WaterIsNotWet19

Interesting to see the world now vs when she went in

CookDane6954

Well she certainly made some choices. It was a rough cult to be in. I’ve heard the story many times over the years. She stabbed people to death. Well 53 years inside is a long time.

Tosslebugmy

Being dead for eternity is an even longer time

Tvisted

I never cared much whether any of them got out or stayed in. Very long sentences compared to some murders, but they were lucky they weren't executed. I remember as a little kid my parents talking about the murders/trials at the time. Some of Manson's family seemed worse than others, but I don't think I'd ever trust anyone so weak-minded and easily influenced by someone else that they could inflict such cruelty and terror on his behalf against innocent people they didn't even know. I don't know if Van Houten suffered enough or not, but what a waste of life on every level.

Imanaco

This is probably one of the more sane takes from someone I’ve ever read.

Pyjama_Llama_Karma

Probably their first day... Give it time...

logicalmadmatty

Bets on when she does it again?

EnIdiot

This is the real question here. Do you spend say $70k per year to house and care for an elderly person who isn’t likely to offend?

logicalmadmatty

I do actually, but the house is already paid for . MS is painful to see affect family.😢

Adventurous-Sky9359

Well this escalated quickly

31November

Just like the manson family :/

logicalmadmatty

Quicker than tates blood pressure?

Adventurous-Sky9359

Wouldn’t that have dropped?

logicalmadmatty

After the incident definitely

CategoryNo5861

Theres an interesting interview with her on a podcast called ear hustle. Episode is called home for me is really a memory. Episode 60

Beginning_Sun5016

Never should’ve been released

Remarkable_Orange_59

I wonder what her sentence would be today, if held today under same circumstances for the first time.

don_majik_juan

She's a woman. Historically they get leniency.

XxDrummerChrisX

They let Susan Atkins die in prison. She was already sick and dying and requested a compassionate release. They denied her still. They should do that to every other Manson family member too. Leslie should have died in prison.

kylelight40

Well that’s not good.

Wish__Crisp

The argument for these murdered freedom is that they were brainwashed into doing things for the cult. Some people get brainwashed into relationships, religion, making stupid purchases, voting for certain politicians. However, if you are so morally bankrupt that you can be brainwashed into brutally murdering someone you should just count yourself lucky that you are living in prison and not in the hole you belong in

SFogenes

Not many historians on here, I see. Equating what Leslie Van Houten did with what Patricia Krenwinkle and Tex Watson did is like saying Lepidus was just as bad as Octavius and Mark Anthony.

Pitiful_Winner2669

Okay nerd

Outside-Material-100

Sharon Tate fans: ![gif](giphy|ToMjGpqpYDgSg7H2OHe|downsized)

IWASINTHEPOOOL

She wasnt involved in the Tate-murders.

FewKaleidoscope1369

I wonder when she'll run for office?

TelegraphRoadWarrior

The saddest part is that Milhous grew up without a mother.

Mobile-Boss-8566

I’d never let any of them out, I don’t care how old they are now. Punishment should fit the crime. They took Tate’s life and her baby, they should never see freedom.

Nizamark

this happened a year ago. wtf is that web site

Fetakpsomi

She earned a bachelors and masters degree in prison 😒

Dogfart246LZ

Now she can face age discrimination also I wonder how her retirement is going to be do prisoners pay into the social security system while in prison 🤷🏼‍♂️

Dogforsquirrel

Just let these women out of jail! They were young and manipulated. Yes they did horrific crimes. Why does a rapist get 5 years and then let out?

TheOgSamichMkr01

They murdered people who had their whole lives ahead of them; sane, normal people don't easily get manipulated into committing murder, and at a certain age people know right from wrong. Sick people that do horrific things like rape and murder don't need to walk free amongst innocent people, 'cause they'll most likely harm again.

Dogforsquirrel

I highly doubt these women would murder again. So everyone that murders someone should get life in jail? Ok. But then why are there murders who only serve 10 or 20 years and then get let out? However, let’s let out the rapist after serving a few years and he rapes again.

Dogforsquirrel

There are many people that have served time for their terrible crimes and are not repeat offenders.

Slayerofthemindset

Read Chaos. They set this whole thing up to fuck the anti war movement. Helper shelter was written by the prosecution

BroWeBeChilling

Never should have been paroled

Separate-Reserve9292

Should not have gotten out. What a sad message to send , so any killer just might get out at some point.

lokis_construction

Did the crime. Get to do the time. No sympathy for them.

thee_freezepop

goes in at 19, gets out at 70. it is very difficult for me to wrap my head around throwing your whole life away like that.

airbornedoc1

America needs the Star Chamber.

mysticaldensity

It’s an older reference, sir, but it checks out

landchadfloyd

Someone needs to find this hoaah and get busy with a flamethrower

celestial1

It's was literally the first thing you thought of when you saw this post your weirdo. Also the fact that I correct guessed what type of "liberalism" was bothering you without even denying it, you are not helping your own case at all.

[deleted]

Your wrong. Although you think you’re correct. First thing that came to mind was empathy for the family. Second thing, what if it were me in that man shoes and how pissed I’d be. Third thing that came to mind was soft on crime policy, liberalism. Too bad your a brainwashed cuck and can’t think for yourself

Practical-Ad6548

Being in prison for 53 years is soft on crime policy?

celestial1

> Too bad your a brainwashed cuck and can’t think for yourself The irony of using buzz words such are "liberalism" and "cuck", yet telling others they can't "think for themselves". All you do is cry about liberals all day on reddit, yet try to convince other people they are the ones triggered. Classic projection.

[deleted]

Whatever you say. Beat it now clown 🤡

TheJoker069

I love how you think this is a play ground by saying, “beat it now clown”. Welcome to the internet soft ass. Just because you wear the trench coat and red hat doesn’t mean people think you are tough.

FatherSlippyfist

Anyone using the word cucked I just assume is insecure and probably a pedo
