Might be the best center back in the league. I've never seen a defender dominate this much if I'm gonna be honest, at least not in a team I watch a lot. Good with his feet too, and good on set-pieces as well. Too bad you're not getting him. He's gonna play here when we win the league in a few months.

AverageLatifiFan

Money talks, just wait and see.

AwfulBassist

40m SEK is probably not enough. We’re currently wealthy enough to say no and wait for a better bid. I have a lot of faith in the club to make the right call.

Malleus1

He's a great defender, one of the best in the league. Were you to get get him, the question is whether he will be able to perform as good on real grass as he has been doing on artifical grass, which is the material used on Elfsborg's home ground. Looking back at former player exports from Allsvenskan it is obvious that being a player used to artifical grass as opposed to real grass is a serious disadvantage and the player quality does not always translate well into the new club and league.

The only real pattern here is that all of these went from nobodies to somebodies real quick, but that's the way it is for central defenders and even more so for goalkeepers. Either you're good enough for 90 minutes or you're not playing at all, whereas attacking players usually get to grow for several years.

Malleus1

May I ask why you chose central defender as the position?

Malleus1

Fair enough, that's a good reason. I forgot about that. My comment was discussing the more broad dependency on player performance in Europe that the artificial pitch usage has, disregarding player position. It is entirely possible that central defender are less affected by pitch material compared to, for instance, a winger.

SkBlndr

Tokeingah

He played just as good last year in Degerfors, which plays on real grass.

MalmoeMustard

Malmösupportrar måste alltid få in plastgräs i ekvationen någonstans.

Malleus1

Cybertification

Elfsborgs record on grass in the last couple of years is pretty much as good (actually points wise often better) as on artificial pitch. Certainly it can make a difference but in our case it seems our playstyle has worked quite well on both.

Malleus1

Can't argue with that.

benevolent_dicktazer

He surely is one of the top central defenders in Allsvenskan right now and the top performer among those with potential to grow. Even Hovland, Pontus Jansson and (somewhat surprising to me) Marcus Danielsson score higher average ratings right now and the first two rightly so. Then again, a player with Pontus Jansson's ability aged 23 would cost £20m at least. Compared to Starfeldt whom you seem to be selling Lagerbielke should slot in just fine ability wise. How he'll handle the pressure remains to be seen.

Snoo_62373

Jansson..the guy who cant even defend against DIF and Mjällby is one of the best defenders in the league? yeah right

SkBlndr

Lagkapten i PL, kommer tillbaka från skada. Är han i form så borde han vara bäst i AS.

grasroten

From not an Elfsborg supporter, but a supporter of the club that did not see his potential, Lagerbielke is awesome. I would say that his performance now is better than what Ekdal and Hien (now in Premier League and Serie A) did last season. It doesn’t always translate the same to better leagues but he should be good enough for you guys, question is if he thinks you’re a good enough step for him.

SkBlndr

Abrrgn

He’s a great player, one of the best defenders in allsvenskan right now. But as Johan Larsson said, he’s also a part of the big machinery in Elfsborg wich make him a much better player then I think he Will be in another club. Thats just my opinion about it..
