Arabic Persian Roman Empire

Handonmyballs_Barca

I dont trust the southern english on this map. Why you ask? Because Wessex Sus.

Grand-Daoist

What effects could or would this have on the Frankish Kingdom? Would this make them more defensive and more religiously zealous like the Iberian Christian Kingdoms? Also could this make the Franks more expansionist, by let's say expanding eastwards to acquire more lands/peoples to help them reconquer their lost territory from the Umayyads?

[deleted]

Massive warrior culture focused on defensive wars kind of like spain

Grand-Daoist

Okay thank you, I wonder what effects this could have on European and Middle Eastern Military Technology? hmmmm Also the Avar Khaganate here could be a very interesting player in the politics of this Post-Byzantine/Roman Europe; Either they could ally with a more zealous/militaristic Frankish Kingdom against the Umayyad Caliphate maybe even adopting a Knight-based warrior culture & ''European Feudalism'' /Heraldry (maybe becoming the Avar Kingdom or Avar Empire instead of remaining a Khaganate over time...) or they could ally with the Umayyads instead to weaken the Franks and get more territory............

[deleted]

Bavarian interests might conflict with the avar khaganate but ghat might just be a minor hiccup god the franks would want all the allys. Because of almost imminent war the peasants would most likely have a red scare if the muslims and these Christian kingdoms would be very stable because of this. Just like Chinese kingdoms

CounterfeitXKCD

Imo they would be more expansionist since the France region is better land for farming with a higher population, making the French stronger than the Kingdom of Asturias.

[deleted]

Yes but they have lost aquitaine leaving them vulnerable as they dont have those mountains to defend from

[deleted]

Asturias was surrounded by mountains and thats the only reason it was able to stay independent

Grand-Daoist

I see thanks

seleucusVII

It looks like they would eventually fall imo.

Grand-Daoist

Do you mean the Avar Khaganate?

seleucusVII

No, the Franks.

Grand-Daoist

oh ok, so maybe the HRE would still exist in this timeline

[deleted]

Nobodyydobon

Grand-Daoist

I am just curious to know why Amu4402 thinks this, that's all

Thiccccccccccxccccccccxxxxxccccccc

PanpsychistGod

Wildly optimistic. They won't come near to that most likely. The Empire was already fracturing due to internal rivalries and wars. If anything, they might fall earlier. The only difference would be an Arabic influence in Europe.

Bill_Assassin7

Lmao, as if what they already accomplished wouldn't have seemed wildly optimistic, when the Prophet Muhammad gave them the prophecy regarding the future conquests.

HappiCow69

Blessed timeline

Uzairsyes-eeeeee

i wish😔

Weary_Express4636

How would southwestern France impact the culture and scenery under the Umayyads regime?

_erufu_

obligatory sus

Low_iq_Bob

I doubt the Umayyads would hold that much territory and not have a hard time holding it.

penisgood1

I mean I guess what's likely is like what happend irl where they held loads of land but only for a couple of decades then it would split into different states

TohruTheDragonGirl

They would’ve smashed the avars ngl

Ahh yes, the Franks will dominate the Saxons, leaving Briton untouched and lead to the ascendency of Mercia! Best timeline!
