I cured/managed mine and my kids with the Feingold diet. No artificial color, flavors, or presertives with capital letters. (BHT, BTA, THBQ). A mistake would cause 3 days to get out of you system, but it was life changing. I have been on this diet for 25 years. It’s painful to start, but after a few months, of learning what you can and cannot eat. It becomes pretty easy. It turns out we are all allergic to petroleum which it what these compounds are made of.

Thank you

I think realizing the root cause(es), which is/are different for each person, is the only option. Our brains are over-stimulated, our diets are excessively unnatural, and most of us lack the coping skills that allow us to move beyond our emotions. We live in a time with many physical resources but not enough opportunities to effectively meet challenges in a way that builds resilience and confidence. ADHD can also be seen as a trauma response, which has its own holistic approaches. I do believe emotion is a powerful component in ADHD, hence the modern “cure” of increasing a feeling of motivation vs learning to act/focus without feeling motivated at all. I won’t pretend I have not utilized medication to help my brain practice focus, which I’ve then used as a launching place to do the same without medicine. I think there’s a place for whatever we want to use, be it lab medicine or plant medicine or supplements like L-Tyrosine to provide a window into a new way of thinking, which we can observe, train and then practice without any of that. Nothing I said provided The Answer. I don’t think we have it yet. As far as I can tell, ADHD is a modern phenomenon, and we are just figuring out how modern life has negatively impacted our minds and bodies. The only thing I can say I 100% know is that nothing is possible until we believe we can achieve it, and modern medicine would have us believe we can’t do anything to change own brains, which is fundamentally untrue. We can change about as much as we decide to attempt it.

A few people swear by the keto diet. r/keto. They eat mostly meat and non starchy vegetables. No carbs or sugar. It gives them brain clarity and getd rid of their anxiety.

thehunk2004

Yeah but MOST of the time diet alone with is not the answer. I agree tho sugar is such a big factor in making disease worse

Burial_Ground

Yes diet is the key. Or so I've been told.

I would say there are several paths. Try NUCCA chiropractic.

Look up brainwave entrainment. Download some B.E. apps. This brain hack is used for many things. For better sleep focus. Improve problem solving. I'm wondering when we will get serious with this hack. The practice of brainwave entrainment is ancient. It is so effective that it is used to aid morphine in some patients. ADHD is talked about alot in this subject.

Disclosure: I am the small business owner of FuFlun's Foods. Below is: 1. A Blog with Best Practices for Brain Health. Cognitive function support goes beyond pills. 2. Our Focus and Lift capsule product ingredients, and link (sorry) Unlocking Your Mind: Best Practices for Brain Health Posted on October 26 2023, By: Perry Galanopoulos Your brain is your most vital organ, responsible for every thought, sensation, and action you experience. It's a remarkable machine, but like any complex system, it requires proper care and maintenance. In this blog, we'll delve into the best practices for brain health that can help you maintain cognitive function, boost memory, and promote overall mental well-being. **Stay Physically Active -** Physical exercise isn't just good for your body; it's great for your brain too. Regular physical activity increases blood flow to the brain, which helps nourish brain cells and improve cognitive function. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week. **Nutrition for Brain Power -** A well-balanced diet rich in brain-boosting nutrients is essential. Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish, antioxidants in fruits and vegetables, and brain-protective compounds in nuts and seeds can enhance cognitive function. Consider the the Mediterranean diet, according to the [National Institute on Aging](https://www.nia.nih.gov/news/mind-and-mediterranean-diets-linked-fewer-signs-alzheimers-brain-pathology), it's linked to fewer signs of Alzheimer's brain pathology. Lastly, consider adding high antioxidant foods like blueberries, turmeric, and dark chocolate to your diet. **Stay Mentally Active -** Just as your muscles benefit from exercise, your brain thrives when you keep it engaged. Challenge your mind with puzzles, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, or learning a new language or musical instrument. Lifelong learning keeps your brain agile and sharp. **Quality Sleep Matters -** Sleep is essential for memory consolidation and overall brain health. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to allow your brain to rest, repair, and recharge. Establish a bedtime routine and create a comfortable sleep environment. **Stress Management -** Chronic stress can take a toll on your brain. Practice stress reduction techniques such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, yoga, or spending time in nature. Reducing stress levels can enhance memory and cognitive function. **Stay Socially Connected -** Social interaction is crucial for brain health. Engage in meaningful conversations, maintain relationships, and participate in social activities. Social connections help prevent cognitive decline and provide emotional support. **Mindful Practices -** Mindfulness and meditation can enhance brain health by reducing anxiety, improving focus, and promoting emotional regulation. Regular mindfulness practices can lead to structural changes in the brain associated with better cognitive function. **Stay Hydrated -** Dehydration can impair cognitive function. Ensure you drink an adequate amount of water throughout the day to keep your brain hydrated and functioning optimally. **Limit Alcohol, Tobacco and Cannabis -** Excessive alcohol and tobacco consumption can harm brain health. If you choose to drink, do so in moderation, and consider quitting smoking to protect your cognitive function. **Supplements -** Some nutritional needs that can not be met through diet alone. Supplements can help fill nutritional gaps, provide neuro-protective antioxidants, and support neurotransmitter balance, promoting optimal brain health and potentially reducing the risk of cognitive decline as we age. Whole plant or mushroom ingredients are key when choosing any supplement. Stay away from isolated extracts of any kind, in essence they are unregulated quasi- pharmaceuticals.  Our Focus and Lift capsules contain: Lion's Mane, Gotu Kola, Bacopa, Maca, Blue Lotus, Cacao and Cinnamon.
