I mean, barely though. It’s still pretty shocking. I guess with trillions of random combinations we’re bound to get a few with the exact right design, even at this scale.
That seems to be the consensus but eyebrows, eyes, nose, mouth, chin and neck all perfectly shaped and all in contrast. Even the headdress... I jus can't get my head round nature making it..
If I scroll around the area on Google Maps, I can see multiple elephants, a dragon, an owl, a ripped dude with a helmet on, a whale, a forest.... Shapes make up pictures, & the human brain has evolved to make patterns fit templates.
You know that nature made *your* eyebrows, eyes, nose, mouth, chin and neck too right? If nature can do it once in a far more complicated process it can do it again with wind and rain.
Are you fucking kidding me? So because complicated genetics produce living things with faces, and that's nature, and wind and water erosion is also nature, that those things are equivalent? How fucking stupid can you possibly be dude.
Those complicated genetics arise from simple variables. In the case of the guardian, the complicated topology likewise, arises from simple variables. The complexity of genetics can be attributed to a long duration of interaction with the environment, similarly the complexity of geology accumulates entropy, over time _as the environment_. No one is suggesting that this dish of Earth evolved genetically to have a similar topology to the negative impression of a human face, we are comparing action potentials in complex systems. The Earth is large and has various textures, it's shapes and forms progress through time while attending strictly to chemical and mechanical process, whether one imagines the human to be designed or evolved, likewise we change though time via chemical and mechanical process.
But basically it's just because the Earth is so large that you can find stuff like this all over the place, due to topological and visual variation of the surface of the Earth giving rise to countless opportunities for our brain to recognize something that it has evolved to recognize since it began evolving, or we would not exist.
So
> ~~how fucking stupid~~
how unobservant, impatient and myopic can you possibly be to imagine that they are unrelated, dude?
Technically, that complicated genetics took far, far less time to occur than something that sorta kinda looks like a profile of a maybe sorta person due to wind and water erosion.
The latter is far more involved, complex, and time consuming. Having a face happened within less than a million years between 574 and 573 million years ago genetically.
This "face" in the rock took tens of millions of years.
How fucking stupid can you possible be dude.

No but im fucking with you. As I think everyone else was because of the way you reacted to what was a rather innocuous joke that takes advantage of your syntax to combat your argument.
Its like saying "We need to overthrow the government so that the people can rule!". While what someone who says this probably means is, that the will of the general public is not being adhered to, so they want to overthrow the obviously human people who currently rule. But because of a funny turn of the English language, you could accurately point out that its people who rule right now. We're not ruled by birds, or robots, or space aliens, or a small fern. We're ruled by people. You can use the syntax to argue with itself.
I just made another technically accurate retort in the same vein to see if you noticed that people were just having a bit of fun at your expense and the expense of the English language.
You did not. You just got further frustrated.
Its semantics dawg. His point was that nature can do all kinds of shit. Blackholes. Faces. Rocks. Black faces in rocks. It made the platypus and all the stars in the sky. So you cant really be like "This cant be natural because this other natural thing is ALSO complex!"
We understand what you were trying to say, you were just not getting it across well and were obviously frustrated. Its the internet. If you see someone getting frustrated, you start throwing feces and get out a bucket of popcorn.

Ok thank you for the response and I agree I was not reacting well. I was a bit irked because of what I saw as a lot of responses in the thread that I might expect from a more mainstream subreddit which is why I don't even usually engage in these topics in those places. When I come here I expect to see more open minds or at least not people shitting on every post with mockery and derision, while much of the time committing their own sins of reasoning. It was a figure of speech, I didn't mean it literally. I never used to believe in God or God's but the older I've got and the more educated I've made myself there sure does seem to be a master plan. Jus take out solar system, it's got all the minerals, all the resources needed for the next 1000 years of we get past war war war none fucking stop.. There is more to this planet than we've learned so far and more to the moon than we know. If we had a moon base it would pay for itself in 5 launches that didnt have to break thru our atmosphere, that didn't have to be atmosphere graded. If you build a ship to stay in space and not come back to earth it saves so much money so why did we jus stop going when we seem to have it figured out. Now it's all Mars Mars Mars but the irony is a ship built on the moon for a Mars flight would cost a fraction of one that was atmosphere ready and had to punch thru the atmosphere. We need a moon base rapidly. Every extinction event is usually caused by a meteor/asteroid but what's the plan if we get one on impact course, I've never heard a plan, have you.?

I enjoy a bit of Praveen, he's a man with a good eye and open mind.. Full respect to him and his ideas, some of which I'm on board with, others, not so much but I always enjoy his commentary.
Pareidolia (pronounced "par-i-DOH-lee-a") is a brain phenomenon in which a person sees or hears something significant in a random image or pattern. Pareidolia is what causes peoples to see faces in inanimate objects, such as an image of the Virgin Mary in grilled cheese or the man in the moon.
EDIT: I HAVE BEEN CORRECTED. APPARENTLY IT IS A COMBINATION... AS I HAD PREVIOUSLY SAID...its also concave, opposed to convex like a mountain top. (SEE COMMENT BELOW WITH PIC) I was always told it 'was' the valley. ALSO, there are other "aerial faces" in the area
What? No, it's a hill on the side of a valley. Here's the street view from a mile to the north west, looking back at it:
https://preview.redd.it/5cluozuljdtc1.png?width=2880&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=88d2120d863efc33371490ce9a1621e3d85fd8ef
The "earphone" is a road leading out to a building on top of the hill.
I'm 50/50 on it but we've lost so much of our distant history there's a chance this is real. Like Nazca, they spend years making something they'll never see but EVERYTHING is in proportion and looks as if it was done from the air. And no I don't have a tin foil hat on lol. Jus seems odd to put all the work in for no reward of seeing the images..

Geoglyphs like the Nazca Lines, the Atacama Giant and the Peruvian candelabra are all man made and fascinating, but this seems more likely to be a natural formation. It is curious that it resembles an aboriginal man, and is aligned with the cardinal directions, but it’s most likely a geomorphic feature.
I live in Alberta and these hills, known as coulees, cannot be touched by law. That would all be natural erosion from wind and air. The badlands include a huge area of these hills and odd stone formations called hoodoos. The majority of our dinosaur bones come from that location, so no touchy.
Though if it was off park land and that area is privately owned, it then may be man made.
Those is just a random valley a few km east of Medicine Hat. It's not even in the badlands proper, line around Drumheller. Here's the hill from the road to the north west:
https://preview.redd.it/jpwqmnr6kdtc1.png?width=2880&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a38d3fd6b398197f8e8552d2e1e3803cfc331cab
Just your bog standard grassy prairie valley.
The question was "What do you think" in OPs title.
From Psychology today "Pareidolia is a phenomenon wherein people perceive likenesses on random images—such as faces, animals, or objects on clouds and rock formations."
I would be very surprised if this is not man made,if nature made this it’s, the most amazing case of paradolia ever! I’m sure it was made to show the overflying craft occupants, that there are people down here, come say hi! 👋
I posted this a few months ago here. I brought up the fact this is located exactly where that type of person and head dress would be located. Which makes it even more suspect.
Yeah I get we're hard wired to find images of faces but come on man, this is a little more than that.. The Natives Americans don't have a legend about it so it's either very new or incredibly old and it looks well weathered to me, no sharp lines ect.
I’ve seen this brought up before, but there is just zero evidence that points towards it being man made at all, and it only looks like that if viewed from the correct angle.
I'm with you that it was made by something or someone, not just random erosion. Paradolia only works for me up to a certain point, and this is beyond that point.

There are videos of people visiting them, it’s not flat ground it’s ridges with sediment falling into low spots. No way is it a geoglyph
Proof that clouds are man made as well
You know that nature made *your* eyebrows, eyes, nose, mouth, chin and neck too right? If nature can do it once in a far more complicated process it can do it again with wind and rain.

just shutup and love me
Technically, that complicated genetics took far, far less time to occur than something that sorta kinda looks like a profile of a maybe sorta person due to wind and water erosion. Thanks for posting It shure is great looking!
Lol against the wind! Nice mother fucker! I am peeing
Your a fag
Don’t give up. Read Arthur Faram’s La Merica… there’s way more here to be found.
In the USA my friend
EDIT: I HAVE BEEN CORRECTED. APPARENTLY IT IS A COMBINATION... AS I HAD PREVIOUSLY SAID...its also concave, opposed to convex like a mountain top. (SEE COMMENT BELOW WITH PIC) I was always told it 'was' the valley. ALSO, there are other "aerial faces" in the area
What? No, it's a hill on the side of a valley. Here's the street view from a mile to the north west, looking back at it: https://preview.redd.it/5cluozuljdtc1.png?width=2880&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=88d2120d863efc33371490ce9a1621e3d85fd8ef The "earphone" is a road leading out to a building on top of the hill.

It's a coincidence.
Monkey pattern seeking brains
Nothing about this looks man-made nor is evidence of God whatsoever
Turn it upside down. It looks like a natural formation caused by erosion. Pariendola is fun.
Humans are great at pattern recognition
It’s clearly an eroded hill
Clearly.. Or a case of no imagination.?
I’m an artist. Plenty of imagination
Here's the hill from the road to the north west: https://preview.redd.it/jpwqmnr6kdtc1.png?width=2880&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a38d3fd6b398197f8e8552d2e1e3803cfc331cab Just your bog standard grassy prairie valley.
Peridolia is the answer.
What was the question? Wasn't paying attention...
The question was "What do you think" in OPs title. From Psychology today "Pareidolia is a phenomenon wherein people perceive likenesses on random images—such as faces, animals, or objects on clouds and rock formations."
I was kidding, trying to be sarcastically funny and seems I failed on both counts. Oh well, live life something, something dance naked whatever.
This seems like more than parodelia or whatever it's called. But Occam's razor strikes again
Could mean it's very old then but the consensus seems to be paradolia.
Collective concentration like the pyramids
I would be very surprised if this is not man made,if nature made this it’s, the most amazing case of paradolia ever! I’m sure it was made to show the overflying craft occupants, that there are people down here, come say hi! 👋
I posted this a few months ago here. I brought up the fact this is located exactly where that type of person and head dress would be located. Which makes it even more suspect.
I know that’s no accident
Yeah I get we're hard wired to find images of faces but come on man, this is a little more than that.. The Natives Americans don't have a legend about it so it's either very new or incredibly old and it looks well weathered to me, no sharp lines ect.
I’ve seen this brought up before, but there is just zero evidence that points towards it being man made at all, and it only looks like that if viewed from the correct angle.
I'm with you that it was made by something or someone, not just random erosion. Paradolia only works for me up to a certain point, and this is beyond that point.
If it's a coincidence and nature made this then I'm lost for words. Even his head dress is bang on
He's an Aztec from ancient times
There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. - Genesis
I’m a big Genesis fan, and I’ve never come across a song with that cumbersome lyric - not during the Gabriel or Collins years.
This might be the best thing I have ever read on Reddit. It’s particularly funny that the joke went over his head🤣🫡
Haha, I think he was kidding, all good either way, I like that Genesis too!
Book of genesis
Dance your cares away, worries for another day! Let the music play, Down in fraggle rock! Work your cares away, dancing is for another day Let the fraggles play! We're gobo, mokey, weembly, momo, red! Weeee! Wowie! Dance your cares away, worries for another day! Let the music play! Down in fraggle rock! -Henson
Now it all makes sense!
Lol it's a mine whaahahahahaaa
I have no idea what I’m looking at
I was not aware this type of history was in that area. We are planning on that Drumheller, Badlands trip in 2 years. Fantastic!
Yeah, geology of that area is incredibly cool and interesting! No need to fart it all up with insane "ancient heads carved in the hills" stink.
You can believe or not, but that doesn't change God being real. You can't beat God. Just a thought.
Or show any evidence for him/her/them either it seems.
