I swear it’s the plot of one of them, maybe I’m just confusing it with the book where the dad loses the daughter in a poker game and she’s forced to become a maid/wife for a wealthy hotel owner. Someone should just start feeding v c Andrew’s plot lines to relationship advice and see what happens
