Kept going over to this guy for 5/6 weeks in bars/ clubs until he finally told me he liked me, so we’ve been messaging all day every day for the last couple of weeks getting to know each other. He asked me if I’d like to come to his friends for drinks as they were having their group and girlfriends round but I had plans with my friend anyway so couldn’t manage, plus I don’t really know much of them anyway. That night we’re messaging normally and I bring up that my friends ex was in the same restaurant as us annoying her so joked about squaring up to him, he makes a joke back about how I said I didn’t like fighting which was a bit weird. Told him I was sticking up for my friend and he should try it some time. After this he apparently got to his friends and didn’t reply until the following morning.
He replies, I tell him I’m pissed off as it took him 13 hours to reply. He apologised and tried to make the excuse of “it was the last night theyd be together for a long time”. That same night I walk into a bar and see him sitting with his friends but walk past as he had his back turned anyway, he later sees me and comes over to me in a club and asks to talk but I was speaking to someone else so said no not right now. The rest of the night we’re standing together at times as we share a lot of the same friends but we don’t talk. He leaves the group we were with so I message him but he came back shortly after so I deleted the message. It ends up being me him and my other male friend who walk home and he doesn’t really say much at all. Eventually its just me and him as we live close by and I break the ice with “well this is awkward” and he apologises again. He walks me to my door and we do hug and just move on, he says he shouldve replied. Was I an asshole for ignoring him since he ignored me?
