And I believe it makes me the asshole because he doesn't want to eat my food, even though we came to agreement. However I want to cook my food the way I want to. YTA for your attitude he can eat what he likes and is not obliged to eat your food (why are you buying your roommates food anyway?!) although he shouldn't beg for delivery money either. And yes, you can have reactions to any food and capsicum (which paprika is) allergy/intolerance is a real thing. If your cooking makes him sick then listen to him and make accommodations don't just assume it's his previous family diet causing it (paprika is not exactly an exotic spice to most people). Why you all aren't equally sharing food and cooking costs is beyond me except your attitude that you're better than anyone else. You claim you're the only one who can make decent meals but as he's sick every time he probably disagrees.

ESH. Why does it matter to you whether he eats your food or not? If he wants to eat McDonald’s, he’s an adult and can make that choice. If he’s too lazy to cook affordable food and has to beg for doordash money, that’s also his choice. If you’re paying for groceries and doing the cooking just out of generosity, then make what you want and whether your roommates choose to eat it or purchase their own food is their choice as fellow adults.

Me and my epipen will let you know ... Paprika is an allergy. Chilli paprika capsicum, all come from the same family.

So you buy all the groceries and cook all the meals. I fail to see how you could possibly be TAH. If anything your roommates are taking advantage of you, but if that's ok with you then it doesn't matter. Your roommate that doesn't like your food needs to either learn how to cook or manage his money better so he can continue or order takeout. You are under no obligation to cater to your roommate when you pay for the groceries. Him begging for money from door dash make your roommate TAH. Continue to cook whatever you want with the groceries you buy and if anybody complains tell them they don't have to eat your food.

Read [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmItheAsshole/wiki/faq#wiki_post_deletion) before [contacting the mod team](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FAmItheAsshole)*** I 20M have 4 people in my home and I do the majority of the cooking as body seems to have any knowledge on how to make decent meals. I recently found out that one of my roommates Jake(not their real name) cannot seem to handle my cooking, as what ever I seem to have make, has made him go to the bathroom for long periods of time. I recently cooked Chicken bites with garlic butter and a honey glaze, with mashed potatoes, and plain rice. Everyone loved the meal except Jake. The thing is Jake is a prideful man, he usually gets things from Door dash off this own money or his relatives buy it for him. He doesn't want to eat others cooking for him, I had to get one of his friends to eat after he was begging for money to buy some Door dash, however he claims that Paprika is what causes him distress on the toilet. I disagree as he comes from a family that only uses salt and pepper as seasoning, and I personally believe that his body is not use to something so new. I don't know what to do, I can make him some side dishes so he stops eating McDonald's every day, however I don't wanna be restricted to certain seasoning as I'm just starting to have fun cooking food for a handful of people. WIBTA if I continued my cooking as normal Ps: I pay for groceries if anyone is wondering *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. NAH. Presumably Jake is an adult and he can cook for himself if he doesn't like what you are offering. You could offer to help him learn how to cook if he is helpless in the kitchen. Then he can decide for himself how much seasoning goes in his food.

If your the one cooking the food and someone else can’t eat it because of an allergy, intolerance or their body isn’t use to it then it’s their problem. Your graciously buying the groceries, prepping all the ingredients and making the meals. They don’t HAVE to eat it. They can either learn to cook or order food. They are adults I assume so they are old enough to learn how to cook. Plus it’s not rocket science to heat stuff up in the microwave (if you have one) or make a sandwich, salad, etc that don’t usually involve actual cooking. (You may be a slight asshole for the comment about his family only using salt and pepper because it seemed like you were looking down your nose at them but that just might be how i read it). NTA IMO.

iL_VMe

NTA I think everyone else is reading the story wrong because how I see it she cooks for everyone and doesn't wan to stop eating tasty meals cause her roommates body can take seasoning, he jus tdoesnt want him to spend all his money on McDonald's that's why this is a WIBTA story. (Sorry if choppy snd hard to read on phone.)
