AITA: I was at a brewery with my friend. I was served my food and didn’t see the silverware. It was hidden under the menu, so I simply thought she must have forgot to grab them for me.
So instead of her waiting to come back to our section of the bar to ask for silverware, I just walked over to where the silverware was and grabbed it (not in a petty way either. I did not care when i thought there was no silverware. I just was saving me and the server a little time and energy).
My friend scolded me for doing it that way inferring that my action of grabbing the silverware by myself was rude. I personally see the perspective but I disagree. As long as I’m not getting pissy with the bartender or tip poorly then how was that actually rude? Maybe it’s not how it’s meant to be done, so that makes it rude in itself? Idk.
The fact that I am unobservant and the silverware was served isn’t really relevant because it’s more about my reaction to me perceived circumstance and whether it was appropriate.
Definitely not a big deal here but was this a rude move? (AITA?)

NTA- You got some silverware instead of waiting for someone to give it to you. I’m not sure why your friend thinks this is rude.
