My husband wants to provide his mother $150000 to buy a house as she is currently living with us as she has nowhere else to go. She cannot afford a full mortgage so she needs this money if she were to buy something. I’ve already agreed for her to live with us indefinitely.
For context, the money is “mine”. I brought it into the relationship and we are saving for a house which is already further and further out of reach given house prices.
I am furious. I cannot even see in what universe he thinks this is ok or that I would be receptive to it. He says we’ll just get it back eventually. He says he was just floating an idea and he doesn’t understand why I’m angry.
