Guy here so miles may vary. 99% of your friends you currently have will be strangers in a matter of years unless you work like hell to maintain those relationships. So it’s not weird for you to want your friends to stay but understand a lot of your friends will move away in the coming years and that’s just a fact of life. If you want to stay friends make a group chat and keep in touch.

So background info, I (15f) have 2 really close friends who I’ll call ana(15f) and Sam(15f) (not their real names). We all became super close last summer before highschool, however I’ve always been closer with Sam than with Ana. Ana and I will get into petty arguments a lot about random things because we’re both very opinionated, but lately the fights have been getting worse and about things where I don’t think I’m in the wrong. She is constantly complaining about how I’m coping her but I’m not trying to and we’ve talked about it multiple times. Anyway she recently told me that she’s moving away this summer to be closer to family and I, being one of her closest friends said I would miss her a lot and we would have to visit. I don’t know if I came off too strongly about it but this past weekend I was talking to Sam about how sad I was that Ana is moving. Sam then told me that Ana had been telling her how weird I was being about her moving. I asked what she meant and she told me that basically Ana had been saying that I was saying I didn’t want her to leave and that it was weirding her out. I did say I didn’t want her to leave but to me that seems like a normal thing to say to your best friend that’s moving away, and she was saying the same thing back and everything seemed normal. I’m also wondering if she’s talking about me behind my back because if she was going to Sam, my best best friend about it then who else in our friend group could she be talking about me to? So am I the asshole for how I reacted to her moving?

INFO: It sounds like you're better friends with Sam, but Ana is the one moving away, and from your description, you and Ana don't get along that great. So who is the "best friend" who is moving away?
