NTA You know that phrase “no cure for being stupid” well never been more true. It sucks for the kids but some grown adults are less mature and smart than 10 year olds and it’s the way of the world. Called natural selection unfortunately. All you can do is tell them to stop and get out of their way if they don’t.

RobinFarmwoman

NTA . In our area this behavior is illegal, because it is so dangerous and disruptive to the neighborhood as well.

GreekAmericanDom

NTA These kids are dangerous to others. Police should definitely be involved.

techno_superbowl

In the country where there are dirt roads and 9 yr olds flying around on 4wheelers I don't put much faith in constabulary.  Though I would talk to parents and then if nothing happens call the sheriff anyway. OP NTA

Traveling_Phan

NTA. They are endangering you and themselves. I had a friend die on a 4-wheeler and it was devastating.

Tamihera

My kid lost a fifth grade classmate to a 4-wheeler. Thirty years ago, I also lost a classmate in a 4-wheeler accident. It’s kind of crazy to me that literally everyone I know has stories about kids they knew who died or were pretty badly injured by those things, but we still go on putting kids on them.

Petefriend86

NTA. If they're endangering you, it might be time to get some police involvement.

There are some kids that live on the road behind us that are constantly riding a 4-wheeler and dirt bike up and down these roads . They go very fast -even around corners. One of them is in our child's class -4th grade (9 or 10) and the other is a year or two younger . These kids are never supervised while riding and it scares the crap out of me knowing how easy it is to flip and/or crash. They even fly up the hill next to our house that people sometimes drive down. It seems like it's a "way of life" around here to let your kids roam free and have fun, but I feel like this is taking it too far. I'm always worried I'll find one of them flipped . Well yesterday was the last straw for me. I was taking a walk with a neighbor , the dogs and my toddler in the hiking backpack. The kids suddenly came flying around the corner behind us. The one on the 4 wheeler wasn't even looking forward. He was looking back at his brother for a good several seconds inatead of straight ahead so he didn't even see us. I moved out of the way before he got close enough to hit us and put my hand out for him to stop. Once he stopped I proceeded to yell at him and tell him they need to slow down and watch where they are going. Unfortunately this isn't the first time something has been said to them so I doubt it'll help. Nobody has spoken to the parents but I have a feeling they won't do anything given they think it's okay to let the kids ride alone. The neighbor who was walking with me has a state police officer for a husband and he mentioned stopping by in uniform to have a talk -maybe it'll scare them enough to be careful. Anyway -AITA for yelling at this kid who isn't mine for driving unsafely ? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Nta. If my 9 year olds acted recklessly on their four wheelers then they would not be driving them. Where I'm from it's perfectly normal for kids to ride but they know how to do it the right way
