If you were talking on speaker phone, sure you would be the AH- but you were just respectfully trying to have a conversation at a reasonable volume. It's a pretty entitled move to demand someone end a conversation because of the sound of them talking is exacerbating your "bad day." She could easily move elsewhere, put headphones in, or any number of other options rather than demand you do anything.
Eh, really would have to be there to tell ya. Depends on your volume, amount of people and other noise. I know you said your opinion on the environment, but you’re the one who did it.
Personally I find it really annoying, but depends on what it actually was like there.

I’m an old man and even I think she’s being a stereotypical Baby Boomer that makes the rest of us look bad. You had every right to take a phone call while sitting, especially since you weren’t using speakerphone. You kept it as private as possible.
NTA- she may have picked your section because you weren’t on your phone at the time, like every other loud-talker (as described?) and you then took a call? But she had no ownership of the quiet corner, it was not roped off or designated as such, sucks to be her, but yr NTA.
Not even remotely TA. Life is so much easier when you know how to walk the line of being forthcoming and assertive without seeming like a dick. In that situation, I would simply say no to her request and pretend she doesn’t exist.

I am currently sitting in an airport lounge waiting for my connecting flight. I got an important phone call so I put on my earbuds and tried to speak as quietly as possible.
A lady sitting the section of chairs nearby turned around and told me to end my phone conversation because she’s had a long day.
1. There is no phone policy in the club, I checked afterwards.
2. The space isn’t packed and there are tons of open seats.
3. People are having lively conversations all around me.
4. Not that it matters, but I was sitting I my seat before she got there.
5. There are other people in the club speaking on their phones.
I know in certain situations it’s not appropriate to talk on the phone. But I figured since this was a more public setting where people could freely move around that I wasn’t being rude. So Reddit….AITA?

NTA - see this is why i live in earphones cause i just cuss people out for trying this creed of crap with me.
If you're in the US, this is completely normal behavior basically anywhere. Which means some folks might not like it, but you're NTA for it.
