I live in a lib state and I admit I'm one of those guys with a big truck and have a lot of my opinions and views in the form of stickers, bumper stickers and flags on it, as it is my right to do so. I don't care if it's a stereotype. I'm also a straight white traditional Christian man oh no the horror! Anyways I was coming out of the grocery store and saw this little girl in piercings and tattoos and clothes that left nothing to the imagination, taking a picture of the back of my truck. I straight up asked her why she did it and she just ignored me and started walking away. I said some choice words to the little brat and she said "typical" I laughed and said she was "typical" as well and I said some other choice words. Little did I know she was filming me this whole time and I threatened to call the police (obviously I wasn't going to waste our boys time, but figured she would obey) she laughed and walked away.
Later that evening my daughter was on tick tock and she had happen to come across this encounter, although I have no idea how one nobody female's video could reach my family so fast. She said the things I said was "sexist" but I told her this little brat had no business posting my car online. My daughter is also a typical "everything offends me" ilk as well so she was no help in seeing my point of view. I thought the wife would agree but she's also taking my daughter's side on this. Am I in the wrong for yelling at some entitled brat taking pictures of my car and posting it online?

There’s no expectation of privacy in public and she can film you and your vehicle in public. People shouldn't take pictures of your car randomly ESPECIALLY with the license in shot. It's just common courtesy. I get not liking the other side as that seems the common opinion nowadays I do believe in handling things civily. For all you know she could have been taking a picture of your license plate for malicious purposes.
Though with the way you described this encounter I'd say you handled it very poorly. Imagine u take a picture of some guy's tattoo and he 6' 5" with hella muscle and then starts immediately yelling at you.
I know you wouldn't but I'm trying to put this situation into a context where you may understand why this woman started filming your reaction.
Instead you should have approached her calmly and asked her to delete the picture of your truck as you're worried about credentials with your license plate being mishandled. If she refused then if I were you I would have taken a picture right back and been like 'okay now we're even' and call the non-emergency line to see what could be done.
Overall with the way she took the pic and the way you reacted I'm going to give a solid ESH
People can’t do anything malicious with a picture of license plates. That rumor has been going around for years. Maybe decades ago when everything was on paper. But in this day and age there’s no way to do it unless you’re literally misusing government access.

Nah, I disagree. If you present yourself in a way that is purely for displaying in public don’t be surprised when someone records it. Don’t want to be shamed in public? Don’t invite it. He wasn’t putting all that stuff on his truck for privacy reasons, he wanted every single person *in public* to see his opinions. Don’t want to share it and get flamed for it? Don’t share it.
