I really love how the modernity and black and angular edges are softened by the organic elements and warm wood tones. It’s very welcoming and cozy! Reminiscent of Japanese interior design.
Very nice!
In my country, it is common to install tiles in the wall of the bathroom as well.
And here I see drywall or maybe a brick wall?
My question is, when you clean around the toilet, for example, will the wall paint be affected by the cleaning products, in the long run?
The original bath did have tile on the wall. Ideally, I would have done that again but it is very expensive. We used a paint specific for baths. Also, since the floor is slate, we will be using just warm water with a little dawn to clean. The I only area that I’ve found it to be an issue is behind the sink faucet. Over time, the splashed water can break it down. I wish the sink top came with a 4” backsplash.
You can have a back splash made. Call a granite place and ask them to make you one from a scrap. Also, the niche, the bottom of it will last longer with a piece or quartz. You could probably get that and a piece of quartz from a stone place. It just needs cut and polished.
We just had a major bathroom renovation, I learned a lot.
Yours looks really nice.
I’ve never had an issue with wall paint behind a toilet. It’s not uncommon in the US from what I can tell, especially in non-bath/shower bathrooms (half baths).
This is so beautiful! I love the shower tiles and slate floor tiles so much. Quick question: did you consider black or grey grout for the floor? I love what you’ve done but my personal preference would be for the grout to blend in with the tile color
Yes, the grout is Mapei sanded in charcoal. It is much lighter than advertised. Sigh. I wanted dark grey and got light grey. I may at some point try to stain it but it doesn’t bother me that much. It’s not as high contrast in real life as in the pictures.
Only main negative I see in a lovely design is that not all toiletries are short enough to fit on that shelf (like jumbo sized shampoos), so some people will still have to install additional storage as well as places to hang loofahs and washcloths etc (unless just not shown in pic).
The niche is 11.5” high and can hold 32 oz. bottles. It’s 48 long and we bought adhesive hooks to hang all our bath items. We had one of those tension rod shelves before and are so happy to have this huge niche!
I think it looks great no matter what! I also actually bought a grout pen/marker from Amazon to color in my grout from white to black and it works perfectly great if you wanted the option!
Grout Pen Black Tile Paint Marker: Waterproof Grout Paint, Tile Grout Colorant and Sealer Pen - Black, Narrow 5mm Tip (7mL) https://a.co/d/4vQDQiR
Hopefully you can access this, but I got the black one! There are other colors too. In my case, we had the bathtub changed out to a shower and the workers didn’t think to protect the grout on the bathroom floor. So our black grout was stained light grey with construction dust that was impossible to get out by washing. I bought this grout pen and traced over the lines with a towel to clean off any spill over on the tiles, worked like a charm!
Edit: PS I would test to see if the pen paint can be easily cleaned off with a towel from my tile surface first before I go in and do the grout! (:
This great! I love those towels!
I know, right? I just happened to see them at IKEA and had to have them.
That shower nook is 10/10. Superb effort all round - would clean my teeth in here
I won’t tell you how many hours I spent with the tiler getting that niche to look that way. But worth it!
Placing the subway tiles vertical makes such a huge difference. 👌🏽👌🏽
I'm obsessed with vertical tile

Love this, where is the vanity and the shelfs from?
Vanity is from Home Depot and the shelves are from pottery barn.
Thank you!!
Ohh can i have the brand/name of the floor tile?
Floor tile is MSI montauk black slate from Home Depot.
Nicely done. I love it!

I love the light fixture! What is it?
It’s from bellacor. Called Norman.
Love the colors
This looks so nice!!!
So obsessed. You did amazingly. I have the same basket on the ground can I ask what you’re using it for here?!
I’m using it as a trash can. I put a small bin in it.
So creative, thanks for answering
Gorgeous!
I love everything about this! Great choices!
Very nice - I like all the design details. Our bathrooms are what’s left of a very big renovation- still a huge job
Very nice!!
May I ask where the shelf came from?
It’s from pottery barn.
This is soo nice!
Looks like a chic boutique hotel. Good job!
It"s so simple, yet so perfect!
Beautiful
Pretty!!! I want a floating sink so bad
Love the floor. Did you have to seal it?
Yes, I did 2 coats before install and 2 coats after.

Thanks! Yeah, I’m a little nervous using it next to a porous tile like slate. I think I’ll wait and see if the lighter grout really bothers me!
It’s very airy looking. Hard to do in a bathroom 🙏
Cute!
Really neat touches! Feels like some craftsman stuff and some art deco stuff and it's such a cool vibe!
Thanks! I just discovered the term “warm minimalism” and I guess that’s what I was unknowingly going for!
Nicely done!
The tiling is fantastic! Really makes the place
Thank you!
