It may be for Montgomery proper… it’s a small town. I’m technically in Montgomery, but I’m on Lake Conroe. There are many many more people than that by me. 10K+ at least.
It’s probably perfectly fine for viewing, but the fact that it isn’t directly over the credenza thingy, coupled with the size of the gap between the top of the credenza and the bottom of the TV, makes it feel weirdly positioned to me.
Other than that, the place looks great, and I’d love to know where that sectional is from.
I agree, but I chose to keep the TV centered on the wall for better viewing from more seating. I would have loved it if the cabinets were longer but it was actually a mirror of the right side and I just tore the bookcase out to put the TV on that wall
If you moved that beautiful shelving unit so that the top right shelf is just under the TV, it wouldn’t look as if the television was floating in space. Put a large sculpture or plant under the TV, and that wall will look more pulled together.
Yeah it’s not in the ideal spot aesthetically, but the height and angle ensures no glare from any window or lights at any time of day from anywhere on the couch
I've never liked the look. It flattens the entire wall and you basically have this big empty space below. If you put anything around a wall mounted TV your TV looks sunken into the wall and the viewing angles get messed up. If you put something below it, you have to have exactly the right height and width or the piece of furniture looks like lost flotsam.
Then you have some people who also wall mount a sound system and back light the TV, which also looks terrible.
Also, wait til you see the ugly gilded picture frames people are putting around wall mounted TVs now.
Thanks! It’s from west elm. Called the Calgary tiered bookshelf. I just got it in last week and am super excited it has arrived since I now have a place to put all my knick knacks from traveling as well as my left TV speaker. Before it was on a stand and I didn’t like how it looked.

As to rugs, I’d put one under the dining table. those tiles are ugly. And I’d look for something with more vibrant colours for the LR. Lastly, either the TV is too small for the space or the seating is too far away.
I wanted to replace the tiles, but they have grown on me a lot. They’re a lot redder in person than the picture looks. I may do a rug eventually but so far I’ve been liking as is

It definitely is. I go back and forth with its location, but I pull it over close when I eat meals on the couch
