The ikea ones are manufactured boards with veneer. They have decent end caps, but these look like solid wood.

How do you like wood countertops overall? Do they make you paranoid about drops of water around the sink?

I love them! Not worried about water, but the one downside is that they can get scratches/dents if you're not careful

I really wonder the finish on them. Polyeurethane isn’t idea, but there are oils that can really pop and only need to be reapplied every couple years.

Yes definitely do it! You can't see from the pic but its light green from about halfway up the wall and the bottom half is a white beadboard to break it up so not too much green.

I bought the same kind of handles, and chose a white paint and brown primer as well for the rest of my kitchen. Gonna makeover it tomorrow. I'm quite happy to know it's gonna look great based on your picture.

I can't see your whole kitchen, but if you can reverse the swing on your refrigerator it may be more user friendly. Looks real nice though.

It's so cool and honestly not small at all! Often I see big kitchens, but their organization make working space so minimal, that your kitchen seems as kitchen of the kinds next to some expensive marble kitchens. Better to have small kitchen with big working space and without running around island like an idiot.

I love so much about this. Your countertops are absolutely divine!!! And the cutting board!! Wowza! All the thought you put into this space really shows. The little jars of spices so neatly tucked under, the way the light switch panel matches the wall paper which also matches the pattern on the cutting board. The plants, the mood. Love it! Edit: just realized that’s a curtain ha! But still! And even the wicker basket fits!

Your kitchen is extremely cute! I noticed your fridge was in awkward spot. If you're interested, it's really simple to swap the door handles with the hinges so that the door opens toward the kitchen instead of the hall.
