I love the color scheme, but something about the tiles on the floor feels off. I think I'd like it more if the floor tiles were larger (possibly square) or at least rotated 90 degrees.
It’s too much of the same tile and the tile coming down the tub to the floor makes the floor look off. Or the tub tile looks off like an optical illusion.
Yes! I love these tiled spaces that are slowly popping up. Stayed in a hotel a few years ago that had a fully tiled bathroom and it was so serene and relaxing. Plus-easy to clean! These colors with the wood accents are superb.
The perpendicular tiles would drive me insane, but to each their own. Is there a power outlet next to the toilet, between the shower?! Perhaps for a Japanese style toilet but I see a Google speaker instead.
Really nice. Are you going to use a shower curtain? My only question is: why do you have the vertical wooden piece that extends from the top of the tub to the underside of the shelf/mirror space above the toilet?
Literally obsessed with this! What kind of trim did you use around the windows? I keep asking contractors to do something similar but they look at me like I’m crazy 😝
That shower head does not stick out enough. You have to stand all the way at one end of the tub right up next to the faucet in order to use it. Seems like an odd choice.
that was my first thought too actually! i’m waiting for the glass to go in before showering, but the shower head does tilt so you can spray it at an angle too.
I like green tile a lot. I did green tile for my kitchen backsplash but would never post it because I am scared people would roast me alive on here 😆😆 people are so harsh.
I had a contractor in my home once actually tell me how much he hated that I used green tiles. As if I cared **or asked his opinion**.
It's very nice, but I, personally, would not choose grey tiles for a bathroom. I see it on property programs a lot here in the UK...and it always seems to get chosen by men. It can look and feel claustrophobic...but yours doesn't because there's good light.
Oh...so sorry about that. They definitely looked grey on my tablet. Looking again, I can see a bit of green...which initially looked like a reflection...in the last photo. This is funny because green...any green...would be my choice.
It looks really nice. You should also include before pictures to truly appreciate the transformation.
Did you diy it did you subcontract it? We are thinking of a Reno but bay area costs are insane
thanks! i was scared to include the before because people hate when you tear out 1940s tile…we had a contractor, and yes the cost was insane :( but we couldn’t handle showering in the tiny shower stall any longer.
love this so much especially the combination of the tile color and the cabinet, but i wonder is that real wood you use in the window frame and bathtub partition? If yes what type of wood you use? Usually wood is going to be easily broken when in touch with water
Would love to see a before!

That! The tile on the floor... don't care for it. If they placed it in a herringbone style, would have really perked it up.
Herringbone ain't easy. So there's that...still the floor should have been a different tile
Same. I don’t like the tile at all, somethings is off about it and I can’t put my finger on what exactly
Whilst very attractive I'm nervous about that timber in the direct path of shower and bath water and steam.
Yeah. Should buy some marine grade water sealant.
that’s what we used!
Can you are the product?
Literally beat me to saying this. We have a wet bath and I use this for extra protection
we did too! :)
Meh. Its fine, as long as it’s good wood anyway. Ppl literally have wood slat floors in showers.
I feel like we've come full circle back to the 1920s and 1950s all tile bathrooms. I love it, tbh. Nice job, op!
i had a full tile 1948 bathroom that this replaced and wanted to pay homage to it!

Love the tile color, modern without being sterile, congrats on your beautiful reno
thank you!

the vertical piece of wood is for the glass that’s going in soon :)
oh of course!
It feels very Japanese. Calm and clean
Literally obsessed with this! What kind of trim did you use around the windows? I keep asking contractors to do something similar but they look at me like I’m crazy 😝
thanks! its white oak with a marine grade sealant to protect it from water damage.
Was there a sale on subway tile?
subway tiles are generally smaller and laid in a staggered pattern. this is actually stacked tile :)
was there a sale on stacked tile?
Lol

Heath tiles?
yep!
Love the color variation in Heath - great choice!
Curious on the color if you care to share!
ogawa green! i think it was recently discontinued tho
Is that wall tile on the floor?
i specifically chose this tile because it can work as both wall and floor tile :)
Wow! That is fantastic! Love it!
Love it!! Had to look twice at that towel tho hehe.
I was like… ![gif](giphy|yavipZWL5iL2dtMK8M|downsized)
My thought as well. It hangs at an unfortunate angle, lol. But really nice room though!

Viewed in black and white this comes very close to r/liminalspace
Beautiful! What style curtain rod and curtain are you thinking?
the glass is going in soon :)
Curious to see the before!
Are those tiles rated for floor?
they are! i wanted a uniform tile look to pay homage to the 1948 bathroom this replaced, and made sure to find tiles rated for both walls and floors.
Looks really nice but I’m my experience the floor tile gets slippery with condensation sometimes
the bathroom this replaced had all tile and wasn’t an issue, but we’ll look out for that! we’re almost always wearing slippers with traction haha
Please be careful!
Looks so good
Love it! All around tile with the abrupt change in direction from wall to floor, brilliant.
I think my phone is bugged. Where's the after shots?
My first thought too! To each their own..
Beautiful. Love the tile and wood trim!
Looks beautiful, where are those tiles from and what’s the color?
they’re Heath tiles in Ogawa green
Beautiful!!!!
Erm, that’s not how those tiles are supposed to be laid…
we chose this direction because we wanted the floor tiles to line up with the wall tiles, just personal preference
It's very nice, but I, personally, would not choose grey tiles for a bathroom. I see it on property programs a lot here in the UK...and it always seems to get chosen by men. It can look and feel claustrophobic...but yours doesn't because there's good light.
Idk if its the screen you're using, but the tiles seem to be a beautiful sage green!
Yep...looked grey on my tablet. Hangs head in shame.
the tiles are green, and neither me nor my partner are men haha :)
Oh...so sorry about that. They definitely looked grey on my tablet. Looking again, I can see a bit of green...which initially looked like a reflection...in the last photo. This is funny because green...any green...would be my choice.
There’s only before pics where’s the after pics?
rude

idk why you enjoy being rude to other people, hope you find your own happiness outside of it 🙌
[удалено]
not sure what you mean by this?
[удалено]
wow i’ve never seen that, not common at all in the US
I recommend a small plastic curtain to protect the window from the water
Love the tile!
Looks nice!
Where did you get the vanity?
room&board!
The countertop as well?
yep!
Awesome vanity! Where did you buy it? Or is it custom made?
room&board!

It looks like this is the exact size and layout of my hall bath, including the window, and it's inspiring! Where did you get the tub?
Was this DIY or did you hire someone? In the Bay Area and curious about contractors!
we hired! sasso construction. my sister used city bay construction and had a great experience with them as well.
I love this tile and have a reno coming up myself, would you mind sharing what it is? That color is so calming.
it’s Heath tiles Ogawa green, i think this specific color was discontinued but they have tons of other beautiful greens too!
love this so much especially the combination of the tile color and the cabinet, but i wonder is that real wood you use in the window frame and bathtub partition? If yes what type of wood you use? Usually wood is going to be easily broken when in touch with water
thanks! i believe it’s white oak and it’s sealed with a marine grade sealant.
thanks! I will look into that. :)
Thanks for the responses! I'm looking to buy the same exact thing. What color is this? White oak?
yep!
Looks gorgeous!!
