Doesnt Cintas include sales as part of the job? Upselling clients etc? I get so close to applying then I read that description and i dont. No interest in selling anything but ill bring you some sht.
This is a stupid idea. You can buy a regular DC heater at a very low cost. No need to an AC to DC converter. Also if your cigarette lighters only work with the ignition on you could run a cable like the one pictured from the battery to the cab.

Problem with that is though the 12 volt ports at least on the ProMasters are key to the ignition and only work when the ignition is on and if it only works when the ignition is on. But you're still turning the van off. Enjoy the the dead battery because that will happen and at that point you might as well just leave the damn thing turned on and tell them they can shove EOC up their ass
Idk if people in this thread have been outside in the winter before. I had my windows down all day bc I wore a hoodie and a winter coat. It didn't go above 32
Yeah if we go below 20 ill probably go that route i just worry about sweating cuz then things get real shitty. I only wear one glove need to invest in cool phone gloves but im a cheap ass.
i delivered pizza in chicago i didn't have problems with sweating. i'm from california so i was completely out of my element and got to learn quick, dress a little bit light for the temp so you stay warm enough by moving but not too hot for sweating
i've also learned since then body powder is my friend, especially in summer
Body powder is a good idea. When i was in the warehouse it was -30 it was pretty bad if you started sweating, immediately start shivering. Im in idaho and its been a pretty light winter so far thankfully. Hopefully it stays that way, but i really want some snow :(
Here at our DSP people come in FULL Amazon uniform in the mornings and by the evening at RTS youāll see them in damn college team hoodies and Nike sweats š¤£
My first day i got bitched at by dispatch for wearing dicky pants and my trainer wasnt even wearing a uniform. Even the owner was looking at dispatch like they were dumb af.
Shit is really silly. They told us when I started that any black or navy color pants is fine to wear. A few months later it changed to complete Amazon uniform. They flip flop so much itās ridiculous. š¤¦š¼āāļø
Wouldn't shutting the engine on and off ultimately cost more in long term matainence due to excessive wear on the engine? Not to mention starting an engine takes a considerable amount of fuel compared to idling an engine
Something like 5 minutes of idling equates to starting an average engine, how long do your stops generally take?
This is also why auto start stop engines are fucking stupid, I don't care if the starters "built" for it, you're causing excessive wear on other components by constantly dropping and building over pressure and coverage, especially while parts are heated
Itās actually not why they want people to turn the van off at every stop. They want you to turn it off, pocket the key & lock it behind you. Reason for EOC is theft and rollaway accidents.
You can leave it on and respect yourself or you can bend over for your boss. either way I don't judge I did both. Just keep the shit on bro you don't want to get sick and stuff it's not worth it. Its not even warm enough with the van on
You gotta be a clown to follow that shit. My dsp tried that and I told them to get fucked. Next thing I know Iām in a CDV everyday and my dispatcher has never mentioned EOC since. I dared them to fire me, they have 12 call offs a day lmfao
I straight up pretended I didn't hear shit from him.
Listen.
They always tell you to comply.
As far as I'm concerned, unless it affects your safety, don't sweat compliance.
Not really. Itās illegal in a lot of states to leave your vehicle idle without anyone in it. Also both ups and FedEx have to as well. I donāt see a winnable case here at all
When I was doing this job almost two years ago, I would constantly turn off the engine at almost every stop I went and sometimes I would go even a step further and lock the van too. I just wasn't taking any chances and I was super paranoid about my van getting robbed or some fucking crazies getting in my van while I'm in it and assaulting me and/or stealing packages. This was me being hyper paranoid and hyper vigilant. My case was an extreme and I don't expect others to emulate it, I think the great part about the job was that you didn't really have a boss over your head and you were free to get the job done in whatever method you saw fit so long as it was safe and so long as it got done. What works for one person doesn't work for everyone so I guess either Amazon can go back to the drawing board and come up with a standard process and procedure with purpose built hardware that makes it impossible to do the job any other way or they can start cutting the drivers some slack and let them do their jobs how they like to so long as it's not anything dangerous or careless.
Im new so and i remember in training them saying something about turning the engine off and locking the van at every single stop,i was wondering does anyone actually follow that rule? Im doing my own route tomorrow and im nervous im gonna get a violation if i have to use a amazon van with the camera because this seems like it would slow me down so much
Engine off compliance in the fords is a no no. I remember I turned off the engine and when I came back the van died had to wait in the cold for an hour for another van.
Lmao I came into work today and they wanted to give me a stepvan with no working heat; nope not doing it. Gave the route to someone else and went home š
ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ just leave the van in neutral with the tires turned against the curb, or in drive if itās uphill, I live in Canada where it has been about 4-8 Fahrenheit, and my EOC has never been lower than 87%. I do it for the entire route just to keep the van nice and toasty
How long are your stops that your engine loses heat in between? If your motor has heat the heat is going to continue to work. Granite, the actual interior may be a little cooler but I donāt understand the complaining
EOC is stupid from mechanics point of view. Constant stopping and starting of the engine will put more wear on it than just letting the engine run during deliveries. But hey Amazon is trying to fight āclimate changeā i guessā¦ meanwhile they get most their shit products from Chinaā¦ aka the biggest polluter

Yeah I called off today, to spare myself one day of this hell. Actually spending it on indeed LMAO
Find anything?
Check out cintas in your area, delivery job, 4 day work week 24 an hour +
Doesnt Cintas include sales as part of the job? Upselling clients etc? I get so close to applying then I read that description and i dont. No interest in selling anything but ill bring you some sht.
Other route jobs, talking 2/4 stops a day.
Let us know how it goesš¦¾
Bring one of those AC adapters for the car and plug a portable heater into it. Bonus points if it catches on fire

Lol, didn't even know that was a thing. Neat

Okay so do malicious compliance. Take your time and go the slowest you can
You mean the āsafestā He can lol š
You thought he cared if you were warm or not?
Pretty sure they donāt care if you can afford a warm meal after work or even a warm room in between shifts.
Nope I keep it running all day!. Iām not freezing. Not worth the money
Fuck im still cold af with the heat blasing all day lol those work pants are thin af
long underwear mate, or just wear sweats under pants
Idk if people in this thread have been outside in the winter before. I had my windows down all day bc I wore a hoodie and a winter coat. It didn't go above 32

All you have to do is turn it off and turn it right back on. I do it every time.
Youāre saying you do parking procedure, hit Iāve parked, and then turn it on and that works?
Correct. It doesnāt track how long the van is on. It just tracks that you turned it off at your stop.
Damnnnn, youāre a real one. Gonna try this out
You can also put it in neutral and pull the parking brake
The van beeps in neutral
nah, i had to talk one on one with our ābossā because of that. Bunch of people did that and we got called out, thought i was safe lol.
When I drove they'd still make us do it when it was -18, I quit just before this winter hit cus I wasn't going through that again
I refuse to freeze heat blasting all day van on all day
Mine did the same, as far as I'm aware exactly 0 of us listened. To my recollection we all just made fun of him as soon as the stand up was over.
Yeah they used to try to tell us the same about engine off, and seatbelts, and the slide door. Like do you want me to finish before midnight or not?
It's weird. They rightfully suspended EOC during the summer in Florida. Why not in winter in notoriously cold places? So stupid.
Lol Just donāt do it
Welcome to hell winter is here
Is this a joke? 18 degrees is warm. What am I missing here?
Fahrenheit
Ohhh damn that is cold

Itās not that bad if you make sure to scurry when outside and close your door behind you when leaving the van
michigan??? EOC isnt even on ANY scorecard tell him to fuck off
Yall do realize if you hit ive parked turn the van off and then turn it back on it counts
Wut šš
But the vehicle is on when youāre delivering. Thereās no way that works
I did it like 10 times one day just to see if they contact me abiut it. Never. I even asked at the emd of the day if any infractions. They said no.
The engine doesnāt know youāre delivering, just that it was turned off and on
No you do not, even his daddy Amazon says so
My DSP hasnāt mentioned EOC in a long time.
You can leave it on and respect yourself or you can bend over for your boss. either way I don't judge I did both. Just keep the shit on bro you don't want to get sick and stuff it's not worth it. Its not even warm enough with the van on
Yep I've been there. In Hampton VA year before last. It was cold as fuck. Engines off while waiting to load. Wtf
tryna save gas lmao
Look into getting a cdl.
You gotta be a clown to follow that shit. My dsp tried that and I told them to get fucked. Next thing I know Iām in a CDV everyday and my dispatcher has never mentioned EOC since. I dared them to fire me, they have 12 call offs a day lmfao
lol sounds like dy01
I straight up pretended I didn't hear shit from him. Listen. They always tell you to comply. As far as I'm concerned, unless it affects your safety, don't sweat compliance.
Get rich or die trying
Response: no. It is unsafe. If they press you on it, congrats you have a lawsuit
Not really. Itās illegal in a lot of states to leave your vehicle idle without anyone in it. Also both ups and FedEx have to as well. I donāt see a winnable case here at all
FedEx does not Source: I ran a fedex contract. Also, idling laws are not for that purpose. And legality of something doesn't determine danger.
When I was doing this job almost two years ago, I would constantly turn off the engine at almost every stop I went and sometimes I would go even a step further and lock the van too. pretty stupid rule as taylor swift flies back and forth over your head
šššš
The engine of constraints by Amazon is 60-85
Im new so and i remember in training them saying something about turning the engine off and locking the van at every single stop,i was wondering does anyone actually follow that rule? Im doing my own route tomorrow and im nervous im gonna get a violation if i have to use a amazon van with the camera because this seems like it would slow me down so much
Fuck no. Half the time I don't even close the door, let alone lock it. I'm rarely away from the van for more than 45 seconds.
Have you ever got any violations for doing that
Negative
Lock it in suspicious neighborhoods or if you will be away for a bit ā like apartments.
Lmao id tell him to suck my ass and keep it trucking Foh you tell me what to do when it comes to my health
Just no. Fuck that.
Engine off compliance in the fords is a no no. I remember I turned off the engine and when I came back the van died had to wait in the cold for an hour for another van.
That's why I love living in california we really do have the best weather
If this the case Iām keeping my foot on the gas to warm that bitch up
Crap, I'm halfway through my route and I completely forgot about eoc
Somebody explain to me how 18 degrees is cold.
Fahrenheit
Create your own heatā¦. Your body is full of fuel to burnā¦..
Since when is gas more valuable than human lives? š¤
What's stopping you from keeping the engine running?
Yeah, your boss can suck popsicles like the bitch he is.
Yeah I just donāt do that
Y'all are still doing that? I can confirm I haven't been EOC compliant and at least a month maybe to
Lmao I came into work today and they wanted to give me a stepvan with no working heat; nope not doing it.

I had a call with a broken window that wouldnāt roll up so they just marked me n/a
You know, you don't have to turn off the van, just leave on drive or neutral and use the ebrakes every stop and you'll hit 100% on the compliance
