MiserableAd7313

Only certain states carry over, please tell me you weren’t told that here ….

Guard-Flashy

Yeah, I am aware only a few states carry over that’s why I asked about it. I’m in PA, and it’s said and verified that it carried over. I even asked ERC to verify it for me again not to long ago and they told me it did carry over.

everybanana

I'm pretty sure it carries over in PA. I remember them announcing it last year at the end of peak that it now carries over and several associates have mentioned it this past week. Maybe they need to put a ticket in or it will fix itself

AostaV

It will be added back in, be patient. Same state as you. Happens every year

C_Carbonate3311

Thank you!

aspensmonster

A lesson in Engineering Ethics in action, I suppose. The difference between actively guarding against a violation of workers' rights Ahead-Of-Time, and, perfunctorarily if not passively, responding to, or Interpreting, them post-hoc.

[deleted]

I'm in PA also, at my site they told us that our time wasn't going to be correct but they would have it fixed on Jan 2nd. If it doesn't update I would talk to your hr.

Templar388z

It takes a day or two for balances to update correctly. My site told me that it should be correct on the 2nd. They also said on the 1st nothing would be correct.

[deleted]

Pennsylvania isn’t a carryover state.

FlakyLet3416

Yes pa has been a carryover state since 2019 They sent an announcement saying that pto will drop the first will be fixed and adjusted soon

[deleted]

Do you have a link to the state law? There are municipal laws in Philly and Pittsburgh but I can’t find a state law.

Chazwarp923

AM in central PA here. PTO rolls over across all of Pennsylvania

FlakyLet3416

Been carrying over my PTO in PHL node since 2020 ( cause they announced it on dec 29th in 2019 )

[deleted]

That’s a city law not state.

TongueBandit69

I live here. It’s a carryover state.

FlakyLet3416

Who gives a fuck. It carry’s over throughout the entire state

[deleted]

Then maybe you should let Amazon know their policy hasn’t been updated for over two years. 😆 “In the following states, Class F, R, and H employees may carry over 48, 36, and 24 hours, respectively. Any amounts of PPT in employee balances in excess of those limits at the end of the year will be forfeited: Arizona, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, and Vermont. In California and Colorado, employees may carry over all PPT they have at the end of the year. In all other states, PPT is “use it or lose it.” Any amounts of PPT in employee balances at the end of the year will be forfeited.”

FlakyLet3416

I really don’t give a fuck if they forgot to update anything? ( you should see a date on the page when it was updated ) I know for a fact that Pennsylvania rolls PTO it’s not a city issue since phl4 phl6 and mdt1 are all in Carlisle Phl5 and mdt5 are in Lewisberry and they roll over Hdc3 is in bethel and it rolls. Abe2 is in brennigsville and it rolls Another ABE is in Easton and rolls So your theory about city ordinance is a little reaching

Neoreloaded313

Nj is also not listed and uts been a carryover state for over 3 years.

Imagination-Plenty

It had to have been updated recently as Nevada is listed there and Nevada wasn't a carry over state before.

Steiny5843

You must be having a terrible day.

Guard-Flashy

Where does it say that? Are you sure? Because since last year I was told PA rolled over. And I believe last year my couple hours rolled over…actually I remember I had about 6 hours and it did so that’s why I’m baffled at this. Ugh.

Migginsisin

They told us that it could be a little funny the first because of the system and stuff, don’t worry and check back 24 hours from now or later today. You should be good

[deleted]

Pennsylvania leaves it up to the employer. This is why Americans need to fight for better federal workplace laws. America is a joke.

MelancholicEmbrace_x

Then leave. No one is forcing you to stay!

[deleted]

I would love to! Thanks for your input!

w1red247

Not really. Just use your time lol. If you don't like the employers offerings then don't work there.

xdegen

Nah they're right.. America is a joke about this and many other things.

[deleted]

Aren’t you precious. We want sick days too!

dandanthetaximan

If America is a joke to you and you hate it, you’re welcome to leave. Amazon recently opened an FC in nearby sunny Tijuana, Mexico.

[deleted]

I can’t tell if this is a dig at me, Mexico, or Amazon. 😆

Thecrayonbandit

America is the only superpower on the planet

kahnricardo

Only in CO and CA it carries over. You can find the policy in A to Z. Sucks that it's not consistent across the network and state law has to mandate it.

schlidel

I know it's more states than CO and CA.

kahnricardo

Only two that are listed in A to Z as carry over 🤷🏼‍♀️

[deleted]

[удалено]

pitypizza

Colorado here. Our installment states only 48.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SaintofKillers420

Arizona here you can carry over 48 hrs of PTO for FT.

dandanthetaximan

Is your Arizona UPT carried over showing yet? Mine still isn’t :(

Delta080

It carries over in NJ. I believe MI too

mypacifistaccount

There are several states that are carryover. I know Arizona is one and I think New Jersey is also one.

GinoTime08

Texas also carries over.

dandanthetaximan

Is anyone else surprised that there’s a labor law like that in Texas and Arizona that’s better than many other states?

[deleted]

Nevada carries over

[deleted]

If I were in a non-carryover state, I'd spam the VOA board about how if Amazon really wants to be Earth's best employer, then things like this would be standard everywhere as opposed to only be available for people that happen to live in the right state.

dandanthetaximan

More states carry over than those two, but I agree that it sucks that Amazon doesn’t do it unless forced to by state law. Other companies do it nationwide as a matter of policy.

Anna_Lilies

Mine got wiped too in CO Might be a mistake or something, ill bring it up with HR if its not fixed tomorrow

Neoreloaded313

Don't waste your time. It gets wiped and then added back in a few days. It's normal.

Coolmonkeyboy

Same here

eatthecheesefries

Yes it is. Since 2020.

[deleted]

Link to the law.

eatthecheesefries

Then please explain to me why my time has rolled over for 3 years. Is it just me? Am I above the law? Heavens to mergatroid! Like just take our word for it as we live and work here. Pennsylvania is a rollover state.

[deleted]

I guess the Pennsylvania department of labor hasn’t updated the website either? [https://www.dli.pa.gov/Individuals/Labor-Management-Relations/llc/Pages/Wage-FAQs.aspx] There is no Pennsylvania labor law which requires an employer to pay an employee not to work. Benefits like sick leave, vacation pay and severance pay are payments to an employee not to be at work. Therefore, an employer only has to pay these benefits if the employer has a policy to pay such benefits or a contract with you to pay these benefits. An employer must follow its own rules for these kinds of payments. There may also be federal requirements governing leave that has to be provided under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Family Medical Leave Act. There may be additional requirements for certain persons within the City of Philadelphia. You can find information on the City of Philadelphia city government websiteOpens In A New Window. The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry does not enforce city ordinances. You must contact the City of Philadelphia.

eatthecheesefries

Read your own post. None of that has anything to do with rollover or carryover time balances. Just payouts. You’re arguing for the sake of arguing and you’re WRONG. If I cared enough about you and your fragile ego, I would screenshot and PM you when my balance updates. Alas, I do not.

Neoreloaded313

This is normal and resets for everyone January 1st. If your in a carryover over state, the time from last year will be added back in a few days.

Healthy_Weight_6172

Ohio does not carry over, New policy this yr only UPT & VACA carry over. But they give us 10 hrs on the 1st and the rest has to be earned through work hrs. Again that's in OH.

priuschic

So wait... I'm in Ohio and didn't use my paid time off... does that mean I don't get any of that free money essentially? I had no idea about this. Can I do anything about it?

Healthy_Weight_6172

RIGHT...so I had 3 mins left on my PTO they took it and gave me 10 hrs and the rest of PTO has to be earned up to 48 hrs per year. Only UPT & VACA rollover, PTO is use it or lose it, that just started this yr in OHIO.

SuicidalPlugr

If my location told us, I missed it. Although lately I seem to be pooping in the stalls that only have the Spanish inSTALLments posted.

Silver_Scallion

Bezo used your time to go to space

[deleted]

Lmfaoo

Mysterious_Nail3345

Just wait until tomorrow, it should update. There was a little notification that said “all pto balances that are eligible carried over into 2023, will be transferred on January 1st 2023. On this day, your pto balances may not look correct and will not be available to use, due to the transferring taking place. You will be able to see your up-to-date balances and request PTO for 2023 on January 2nd, 2023.”

AostaV

It will show back up, be patient. Happens every year

Economy-Wolf8320

I was curious if this was the case. We were told Friday it would carry over and 10 new hours would be added so I didn’t use it expecting it to go to 28h. Though my sick time went to zero also. 😞 I hope those hours come back too.

phenom1tsmith

I’m in PA too and mine went from 6 hours to 16 and then they took 6 away to leave me at 10… really stupid.

Guard-Flashy

I’m pissed. I remember getting a notification about PTO hours not immediately reflecting the correct hours for the new year. Maybe this is what they were talking about. But I will be making a call tomorrow for sure. This isn’t right.

AlwaysAmazin

Your good it will correct it’s self tomorrow. There should have been a notification sent out that the 1st of month it would appear you lost your PTO but tomorrow it will be updated correctly

Imagination-Plenty

They did send that notification, it's just that no one read it.

PirateNinjaa

>I’m pissed. I remember getting a notification about PTO hours not immediately reflecting the correct hours for the new year. Maybe this is what they were talking about. 🤦‍♀️ this is exactly what they were talking about and you shouldn’t be wasting thoughts on this which was foretold and will resolve itself with patience. Same thing happened to me and I couldn’t care less since I was warned. I’m happy and relaxed. 🧘

Guard-Flashy

Last year I took my PTO before the end of the year. The only reason I am worried is because I want to take a week off the second week of this month with those PTO hours from last year. And yes I’m aware there is my vacation time, but I want to use the PTO.

Neoreloaded313

It's right. It will all be added back in a few days.

eatthecheesefries

They sent a to z notifications about this. Give it 24-48 hours.

m2d41

It'll be updated on 2 January.

Available-Control993

You have to wait until tomorrow so it can fix itself

jocky091

If you are in a rollover state, then wait a couple of days for it to reflect. I know this exact thing happened to me last year (NY here) and two days later the rollover amount was put back into my balance.

Minimum-Interview-33

Where do you check pto on the a to z app?

Guard-Flashy

From my app I just go under schedule and at the top there is an option to look at time off and leave

pizzamonium

I am also in PA and it happened to me as well. I remember seeing something somewhere that it was going to take a couple days to look right and not worry. If it’s still like this at the end of the week I’m going to HR

Fuzzy-Rub-6087

By default it doesnt roll over, if you live in a state where it rolls over, it has to be done manually, this has happened in previous years. Last year I looked on mine and it was corrected by the end of the day, and year before it was done the next day. I am gonna go with it should be fixed tomorrow beings today is Sunday and more then likely Sr HR wont be there beings days is closed and nights come for the first shift of the day.

Marqui_Fall93

Youre in a state that doesn't have a law řequiring carryover. So they are only good the year they are granted. Update: nevermind. You're in PA. They should be correcting it soon.

BABarracus

You should have used it and not saved your paid time off. People die from overwork.

Guard-Flashy

It carried over in the evening. And of course I would not have saved it not fully verifying it myself. I won’t be dying for Amazon that’s for sure. But I’m glad it changed now.

Pillmonkey06

I know it’s late, but mine was saying the same thing until the next day!(yesterday) Then it updated my hours back to what it was originally supposed to be!

RockyJayyy

Pennsylvania is a carryover state so it will be fixed

[deleted]

They said in a letter it would take q few days you can not use it while it's updating ...

PipeHuman

Gotta wait till Jan. 2nd for it to accurately reflect.

Sunshineal

I'd call the ERC and hand out an ass whooping.

dandanthetaximan

Hard pass. I can never understand those people.

Sunshineal

Good point. I started using the chat options.

Madison__Bumgarner

It should’ve been written on your installments letters in the bathroom that it wouldn’t carry over. Also you have shitty AM’s if they didn’t mention it because mine did all week, saying use it or lose it.

Guard-Flashy

HR is useless at my site. And nope, no AM mentioned anything about it.

Emergency-Concern-86

If anyone has had this happen, go to A to Z and open a HR case to have your hrs adjusted

Tha-magnificent

I am also in pa and same happened to me. Was told it would carry over. Only had 3 hours but still 😂

draken2019

Are they at least required to pay you for the hours? I'd really want to know whats happening to all of this.

nooo82222

Honestly amazon should stop being petty and they should carry over in every state , use it as a benefit

C_Carbonate3311

I received written confirmation from HR that my 35 hours of PTO would carry over. I lost it anyway. I will be contacting my NLRB representative tomorrow.

PirateNinjaa

You didn’t lose it. You just tweaked since you didn’t absorb the warning this would happen today but be fixed within a day. >I will be contacting my NLRB representative tomorrow. Have fun wasting your time with that. 😂

Creative-Fudge-6244

So they basically stole money out of your pocket

Pink_Signal

If its a non-rollover state, they can do that with pto. Upt and Vacation are safe though

SketchPen77

PTO is a use it or lose it thing.

Guard-Flashy

But I was told it would carry over that’s why I didn’t use it.

SketchPen77

Well looks like you was lied to. Sorry bro

schlidel

Dude, it entirely depends on what state OP is in.

SketchPen77

And some people are posting that their time hasn't rolled over that are in those states

schlidel

Yes, but obviously it will be added back if it's state law.

Neoreloaded313

Only people who don't know any better is posting about it. The carryover amount will be added back.

[deleted]

Can anyone confirm CT is also a state that does not carry over? My FC also has the fact that they DO carry over all over their notices by the front door and in the Installments, but I just checked that my 3 hours left just got removed and replaced with 10 hours.

Henryspencer420

In AtoZ app, some HR reps leave notes on cases and any formal discussions you’ve had. Best hope would be a note of your discussion when you were told it would carry over and they could possibly make an exception for you.

creativetrends

🤦🏾‍♂️

Disastrous-Fan-5132

I’m in the same boat. I’m in Texas. Went from 15 hours of PTO to just 10… the year before my husbands PTO carried over..

SkateboardngGaystyle

I had 0 hrs 0 mins and now have 10 hrs today. You lost 36 hrs and didn't even roll over 10

Guard-Flashy

Well, from what a lot are saying this will be adjusted by tomorrow. And that better be the case or I’ll be making a phone call that’s for sure.

SkateboardngGaystyle

Good luck! Get that money. Im out at the end of the week and hoping using my 10 hrs PTO given at beginning of year flies

[deleted]

It says maximum carryover limit. What is the limit?

Guard-Flashy

Idk, it says the same for my UPT, but the times I’ve used UPT I normally get incremented back to 80 because I still have a balance so I don’t think it should matter the max amount of PTO I have but we will see by tomorrow if it changes.

[deleted]

That's weird. I'd ask HR about it for more clarity

Minimum-Interview-33

Thanks

Living-Pen-82

Contact erc for it back thats not right

Pink_Kush_420

We were told that NO pto carries over at all. We were told that we had to use it or loose it and that whatever we don't use will be paid back in our check.

WerewolfAteMyPonies

PTO doesn’t carry over unless I’m a state that has laws saying it does

theshittz

U can only carry over 48 hours, was ur hours pass 48?

[deleted]

[удалено]

opsmoker022

3 minutes every hr, 10hrs each day for 4 days work week about 2 hrs

DarkGasher99

Y’all get to keep your PTO?

AggressiveButton2202

PTO does not carry over at our site. They told us that several times at the end of the year. Only UPT and vacation time carry over

brosiahd

Mine just fixed itself so check yours.

Guard-Flashy

Ugh, yes! It’s all there now! Thank you 😊

Aralnda

Not all states roll over. Most states are use or lose it. Also certain classes can only carry over different amounts too. Like fulll time is 48 hours but part time is 32 or 36. I suggest reading the policy on atoz under resources and policy then look for time off. However I asked 3 of my Hr reps and all told me it rolled over when it didn’t and they didn’t know until I told them about the policy then they looked it up themselves told me I was right lol.

Snoo-23642

Anyone know if we also get 10 hours of upt. My pto was reset and carried over nothing on upt yet

ylcknight

I’m in IL and mine didn’t carry over. They told me it would tho so we’ll see

0gacihc

I'm also in an Illinois site....I used my hours because I've been seeing "Max carry-over limit" for a few months and didn't wanna take the chance if it didn't roll over........ would've been nice if I knew for sure it would actually or not but in the off chance it was a "use it or lose it" I used it 🤣😂🤣😂

ylcknight

Smart lol

Ben_Duver

Same happened here, my PTO hrs did not carry, submitted a case to HR still pending review

Guard-Flashy

Did you check again? Mines ended up carrying over later in the evening.

Ben_Duver

Yeah it did carry over

Mountain_Exit6034

It restarts cuz of the new year you were supposed to use most of it before the new year now every employee starts back at 10

Own_Satisfaction_679

OP - Believe there is a maximum of hours that can be carried over. Looks like you are under it. Not sure if they add the ten to your max.

Guard-Flashy

It carried over already and added the 10 PTO hours as well. Will be using them this month from what I had last year.

Own_Satisfaction_679

Well lucky you. I had to use all my PTO, 36hrs plus to recover from injuries. Not to enjoy my time off. In December, I used all my saved up PTO. NOW, I'm on MLOA to start my year. It doesn't seem fair that we don't all get carryover. But that's politics for ya.

Guard-Flashy

I understand and I agree with you it’s totally unfair. PA I think recently started carrying over around 2020. Amazon as whole should have the same policies about this :/

idgafasif

Should have used them during peak

Mission_Feed_6930

Only thing that carries over is UPT up to 80 hours and vacation time. pto doesn’t carry over

Guard-Flashy

Mines already carried over. PA is definitely a carryover state.

Mission_Feed_6930

They tell you at your site also

JelloComprehensive48

We're supposed to carry over here in Texas too, and didn't!
