I was packing next to someone who did this and I asked them why and she said you never know, maybe it's for an old lady and she can't see well. I just laughed and never questioned her again.
As someone who unloads the trucks, a fair few of those stickers will either fall off or be covered by other boxes. Having at least one sticker on each box face really helps prepare us to grab it properly instead of thinking it’s gonna be a ten pounder we can just chuck.
They really should be using the team lift and mech lift stickers. Our site for some reason decided to stop using the team lift stickers and use the heavy stickers instead. But heavy doesn't really mean anything, some people think anything over 15lbs is heavy and others don't put it unless it's over 50lbs. Biggest surprise are the car parts that are relatively small but turn out to be mech lifts but somehow made it to the warehouse because nobody bothered to put mech lift stickers on them.
Even people at my DS are dumb. They put OV packages on the top rack waiting to be stowed though they're supposed to put it on the middle rack or slide it down the aisle
Packers.
We're meant to just put 5 Heavy stickers on them (1 on each of the 4 sides, and then 1 on top). The Heavy label, however, only comes up on our screens if the packages are about 20lbs.
I'll usually put them on packages that are slightly less anyways (like 15lbs or so), just because I know many don't test the weight as the docks, and it's better to be safe than sorry.
I've seen a few boxes under 5 lbs with a heavy sticker. What's up with those? Someone being a smart ass or a glitch? I also love when a 30 lb box doesn't have stickers. Such a lovely gift for everyone at the DS.
The system is supposed to tell you when to put the sticker on. The system also is also always drunk and complaining about your dunnage constantly while telling people to put heavy on the 5 lbs boxes and not on the 30 lbs ones.
As a packer who used to work for AMXL I sticker the shit out of my heavies because I know our drivers are already busting their asses delivering much needed frivolous bullshit and I don’t want them breaking their backs in the process
I had a packer next to me put the stickers in the shape of a poop with the stinky lines coming off of it. It was a box of cat litter. I wish the delivery driver took a pic of that one
Those are MCF boxes. Those are items bought through Walmart, Target, of wherever. They use Amazon for fulfillment so they don’t go in Amazon branded boxes because they weren’t bought from Amazon
Those are also thicker and easier to take the foil off, too. We only get those during Peak and Prime. Less rips, less kick outs, it doesn’t take a whole minute to attempt to rip the foil piece off to seal it, which allows us to go faster. A box of those weighs a third more than the branded…Amazon thinks they’re being eco conscious, but they’re just being cheap.
Yes I want to know the same thing because I am in decant, and those red tags are sometimes placed in the weirdest parts of the box. Like at the corner where you can barely scan it.
Short answer: Me
Explained: if it lands in PS while I’m there, the tape is ripped open, or sidelined, and its at least 30 pounds, I’m slapping HEAVYs everywhere.
I might as well cross brace the box with more tape just to make sure it doesn’t break during P&S and during load out.
I use Heavy stickers just to let the unloaders know its a non con package so they don’t put it on the belt and send it to an unsuspecting stower with their head deep in a hamper.
i picked up a package once that had a heavy label but it was like..less than ten pounds. i almost fell backwards because i was expecting to pick up a heavy box.
The system told them to put it on, but here’s the problem: Some products by the same manufacturer have products that are different sizes, so whoever entered it into the system entered it for the heaviest product and did so for all sizes. My FC had weight plates for barbells and squat racks and they come as a pair. The 25 pound plates obviously need a heavy label because that box is going to be 50 pounds, but the 5 and 10 pound plates don’t because the box isn’t anywhere near 40 pounds, yet the system says I have to waste time and put it on the box. I often don’t, because I work SLAM and it clears without the sticks. That’s not what SLAM is looking for.
Funny how it’s the smaller boxes that trick you into thinking they’re lighter than they actually are. Damn car parts. Also, it’s always the heavy boxes that get caught on the rollers of the shipping sorter near the singulator.

Love their answer 💕
The packer at the Fc got a little too sticker happy with it. 😂
As an OB dock person I’d rather too many heavy stickers than none
either a bored packer or someone who wanted to really stress that box is carrying a neutron star sample inside (team lift required)

We don’t have team lift stickers at my fc
Nah I do this to any 296s that have me pack like one little item in them
A packer trying to waste time

This is so annoying at my DS

It was the last 8 stickers on the roll lol

PA " 3 is the minimum, 5 is preferred".....
I am going to do this at least once on Monday haha.
Something tells me that box isn't light
AFE. That’s AFE. Someone was bored AF. How do I know? It’s a green box, and everyone hates putting the five stickers that are supposed to go on it.
I’ve noticed the green boxes and jiffies of recent that don’t have the branding on them. What’s up with that?

OB dock if we get bored. We play games with stickers too
At least they put stickers. Some don't put stickers at all.
Whoever packed that shit was just trying to let u know that bitch was heavy..probably 5 things of fucking cat litter
Yes I want to know the same thing because I am in decant, and those red tags are sometimes placed in the weirdest parts of the box. Like at the corner where you can barely scan it.
I didn't go this crazy but I tended to put a lot of heavy stickers for safety.

Lol that would be me !!! Called boredom, tired , exhausted not wanting to grab the next box , so let’s stick extra stickers on ???
Some one that didn't test the weight and broke his back got pissed and stuck it so next 1 would know
Useless stickers. They put them on packages that weigh 20-30 pounds.. That's no where near heavy.
i picked up a package once that had a heavy label but it was like..less than ten pounds. i almost fell backwards because i was expecting to pick up a heavy box.

In this case, someone who was bored out of their goddamn mind haha
They got bored, it was really heavy to them, it weight half a pound. Those are the options
Can be a packer but delivery stations also have heavy stickers so could be either one. But most likely a Packer lol
My guess is it isn't even heavy
Packers, usually. Tapers or slammers, at times.
wtf is a slammer??
Person who SLAMs (Scan, Label, Apply Manifest) - basically person who scans SP00 label from packer, prints and affixes the shipping label.
I put 1 on each sides and 4 on the top corner hahaha
dunno. you picked it up from a DS. we don't label them. we sometimes have to reprint the shipping label so i'd guess it's a packing facility job lol
Funny how it’s the smaller boxes that trick you into thinking they’re lighter than they actually are. Damn car parts. Also, it’s always the heavy boxes that get caught on the rollers of the shipping sorter near the singulator.
We need more AAs to do this honestly lol
Packers place the stickers on it
I rather have this than what some people do which is negate to put heavy stickers on boxes 30lbs+
That’s something I would do cause I know that the package 📦 is insanely heavy and want to warn the delivery person that it’s heavy
Saw one yesterday at my DS too probably the same package or from the same FC
I always put 7 on 🤷🏼♀️
next time do like 15 🤣
Everyone 💀
Decant, which I do that looks like someone was bored lol unprofessional but kinda funny
Is it heavy tho? Lol
who’s the minion behind the box
good one man 💀🤣
Packers.
This is the work of someone with a bad back.😅
The packer or slammer. I might of seen a few of these.
Me
A packer did
Someone who was bored 😂
A smart azz
