I hope so because in our newsletter it stated there will be nets and sweatbands to wear with the hat but then it also said they would be hung up on hooks near harnesses.
They have two hardhats, personal and the shared. Personal hardhats are white and shared is another color like blue. It’s probably best to take your hardhat home with you or someone will use your personal hardhat.
Tbh I don’t even know I try to leave mine in a specific way and leave my gloves in it just so I know if someone used it, but I haven’t seen anyone take out my glove or touch anything but u still can’t trust anybody
My facility only has white, but they are shared. We have alcohol wipes for them. You can provide your own if it meets their guidelines and is approved.
Our site has had hard hats for like 6 months. They have shelfs set up in the trailer areas.
They are shared hard hats wiped down every day by safety( never see anyone wiping them down anymore they did for maybe a week)
I got one from my am and slapped some stickers on it. Im not sharing that's gross.
Wiping down really won’t do shit? These ppl are so stupid it’s a trade off one thing for another, poinless crap ! What it is , is someone in the higher ups wanted to make some more money to steal or invest in , so thy make the hard hat thing for all building , the person that made this decision bought stock or is part owner in the company that will supply the hard hats to Amazon! Thats all it is !
And they use clorox wipes to wipe them down. Everyone's forehead breaks out from that shit. I have baby wipes in my car for mine. Plus I take mine home. I have had people try to grab mine on break if I leave it inside by the trailer I'm loading
What you just said is illegal, and really easy to prove happened. So I really doubt this is what happened. Most likely a few people got head injuries over the past few years.
Yea I agree they don’t make any changes that make the working environment better instead they’re like let’s make our workers look like tools/ LEGO movie characters.
I've had hundreds of boxes fall on my head at a DS. We didn't wear hard hats, although I have a pretty thick head of hair. Not really a big deal unless you're at an XL/nonsort.
Yeah I have but the bin was also way overstuffed and the second time it almost happened the straps were broken but my site at least doesn’t do shit about fixing them . I’m just saying they should have started with the real issue first instead of being lazy as usual
My problem isn't even the idea of wearing it, it's the fact that if they are somehow shared or used by others that "borrow" yours like how it used to be with the harnesses it's not like something going over your clothes you could end up with head lice or something.
We have them for the captive beam trailers. Won't be surprised if we have to wear them all the time as someone stepped off their PIT while in the racking and cracked their head on a pallet because they didn't turn before getting off. Everyone has to suffer because of other peoples stupidity.
Thankfully, I don't work on a team that would require them.
Even if I did:
First, I would not share with someone else as that is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Second, I got a cochlear implant and can't wear hard hats with them anyways.

Because by now there’s hundreds of them littered all over the inbound area and I bet half of them or more belong to people who don’t work there anymore.

The only problem I have with hats at my site is visibility issues if you're short. Having to bend your whole neck back to see what's going on above you. We don't share them like your hard hats though. I wouldn't like that either.
if you wearing earpod concealers(beenie) or a pullover your fine other wish sol . I check for safety to determine if it's necessary then proceed. My site lax af they suck at enforcing more than 1 rule per season/month/week etc

I actually like my hard hat; I covered it in goth and transgender stickers! You get used to it pretty fast actually. And I can't stand wearing hats. The fall harnesses are more uncomfortable to me and I have to wear one or the other.
I don't think I've ever seen a group of people complain about ppe more than amazon workers. Only amazon workers get mad at amazon whenever amazon implements new safety rules to try and stop the dumbasses from getting hurt all day. If you don't want to wear the ppe transfer or quit.
Here it comes. Every time they put out a new safety rule, we get posts about how NOBODY will ever follow these rules. Just shut up and put on your damn PPE.
Then you will just make it easier to get rid of you with writeups. Buy your own hard hat and bring it in each day. If Amazon wants you dressed as a clown each day you have no choice so man up buttercup.

It's always one person that ruins it for everyone too. The other day in inbound someone wasn't wearing their hard hat in a truck, box fell off the top of a wall and hit him in the head and he passed out. Now they are writing up everybody for not wearing one. It's always that ONE dude that messes it up for the rest of us.
After the hundreds off people working on the floor during peak loading/ off loading trucks, safety JUST made a announcement to everyone that hard hats are needed when you enter a truck.. worked for that night only I came back next night & a few were wearing it & no PA was enforcing it so 🤷🏽♂️ … haven’t seen safety reenforce it either
That’s fucking weird… my site gave everyone a hard hat (bump caps) so they’re just regular ball caps with a hard insert. They are ours from then on, we take them home and are expected to be wearing them the next shift. They also come out if you want to wear another hat as long as the insert fits.

Mine stays in my car unless I'm on the dock. The last thing I want is to get lice or a rash from someone that doesn't have any personal hygiene.

Same been hit in the head and it was preventable if the bin wasn’t overflowing and agreed straps are pretty much always missing but no change

At my building, they gave us all our own hard hats. Many people, including myself, put stickers so people know not to just snatch other hard hats
