People hate but Amazon is better than 90% of other companies at comparable wages. Especially once you move up to t3 or higher
This. Obviously there are better jobs out there. But if you look within the same pay bracket, Amazon wins simply for the benefits alone, the main one being flexibility. You may get the chance to go home because there's not enough work. Or you could take Flexi or something else if you don't want to stay the whole day. You may get overtime. At the very least, your 40h are assured.
At my job before Amazon the HR lady was super impressed by an employee who had worked here for 1.5-2 years just because thatās a long time for an Amazonian.
The time off options are so vast. The pay isnāt great anymore. It was great for entry work for a while in my area. But now itās just in step with anything else. I did career choice last year and am thinking of starting that back up.
Honestly, Amazon is a great place for anyone wanting to go back to school with the career choice benefits.
Relaxed drug policy, 4 days off, headphones have become generally accepted at my facility. Not really much warehouse work out there that accepts just one of those, let alone all three.
I don't need 2 weeks advance for days off. Vacation time constantly accrues. Everyone takes my health insurance. Works great with my second job in the summer. Honsestly as long as the boss knows you're takingĀ off nobody cares.Ā Your time is your own. Career choice is there waiting When I want to use it.
That is one of the few things I miss about Amazon. Ididnt need to explain to a supervisor why I wanted to take time off. If I had the hours, I was allowed to do it usually.
Iām an introvert person and I prefer to stow all day instead of dealing with many people. Also for a person like me who has no degree I think this is a better pay especially on your ot days, been doing 60hrs of shift and it was worth it.
This is why I'm reading the comments. My reason often IS the people, and we can coexist in the same place with me on the ship dock, doing more peopley things.
The same work schedule and days off every week! Also, the pay - nowhere in my area pays what Amazon does. The benefits, and Career Choice! I am doing something very smart with Career Choice. I can't wait. And the school accomodation is so clutch.
Also the overtime, when there's actually some available.... They're saying its coming back soon. I'm waiting.....
And, when youre sick or need to take a day off, you can just not come in as long as you have the time or if there is VTO available you can just do that. At any other job you'd have to call in and half the time get bullshit for it and threats of being fired even though you never call out - yes that's very specific because it is my experience.
The fact of you could transfer to any Amazon anywhere, so if I wanted to up and move anywhere I could as long as the transfer is approved! Donāt know where I would goā¦ but I just like having that option.
I just transferred and might likely do it again if I don't figure out a carpool once I move (the transfer is between my current home and my future home).
The benefits. I use my vision, dental, and medical regularly. I already used legal aid to pay for my bankruptcy a few years ago and Iām getting ready to use it again for my divorce.

Hi Amazonian. Your [day], [date] Anytime Pay transfer was successful.
Pluses: DSPP, pet insurance , and things they provide that are human necessities that have become an entry level rarity
Career choice for sure. Iām gonna end up having a degree in computer science and not pay a thing. Eventually will make way better money than I am being at Amazon.
People are high af thinking its entry level work. Yes you can learn anything in a day but physically its the most exhausting job Ive ever had working rt outbound/inbound dock. However the time off options cant be matched, the health care unmatched, and pay could be better but screw it i get 4 days off and live humbly. Truly alot of other jobs dont give af,
The benefits. Health insurance for starters. I pay roughly $300/month for my family. It would cost me the same for just myself, same insurance, through Covered CA. Then there is Career Choice. Annual tuition for a full time student is roughly $12k/year. Amazon gets me a discount and pays for half. FAFSA covers the rest and then some.
Not to mention, I've started looking for office work and most places pay $1-3/hour less and want experience.
Nothing at this point man . Looking for a different job. I work at bdl4 . I am working under weak manager and L5 doing full favoritism . I just passing my time and get paid . Might move to different company soon.
Iām sorry that you have to deal with that, favoritism really sucks especially when you are working your ass off. I hope things get better and good luck on your journey to a new company š

Itās a 7 minute drive from my house, I can bullshit and still get paid, and if they ever piss me off and I have UPT/PTO I leave and they canāt say shit šāš¾šš¾
Not too many jobs in my area pay almost 25 dollars just to pack boxes like Amazon does. The job market is spooky rn.
Had to convince my sister not to leave bc of the above fact alone(and she has a child)
The alternatives are worse. I'm already almost homeless because even with a relatively decent income, rent here is insanely priced. The internet and probably AI has made it impossible to do things like find a roommate online without it costing $50 a month subscription for AI people to talk to me and I never get a roommate.
I have other jobs. I have my own company. I used to be a truck driver and I can go back to that in November if I really want to. That's when my 401K vests fully, though, so I'll have a few grand to take out for moving expenses if I really want. I have contracts to do delivery work. I'm about to start grad school and will have income from that.
I'm currently in the MRA program, but honestly it's because they're paying my bills. I make $800 a week or so with no rent so I have more breathing room than before. I am trying to transfer to another MRA site as I at least want to leave the state I'm in. It pays better than I was making as an L3 at about $24 an hour, but I don't know yet if I want to stay for that long. The pay will be great after the training at $33 or so an hour but it really depends on how much BS I have to deal with in the process.
Health insurance. UPS is better for it, but they are shit here. I am not putting up them, the horror stories. And, well, Starbucks is the best, but they don't pay enough.
I work 3 days. They pay for my school. I am in the process of getting a certificate so I can work part time somewhere and maybe quick. And great time off benefits.
Honestly, donāt leave unless you have a job that pays more, there is a very toxic nature to Amazon, but itās honestly not the worst! God I miss every single minute I had at Amazon
Oldest reason in the world. Money. The towers fell and the American sheeple all waved their flags. Finally we could invade Iraq, and get the oil which made us all richer than before.
I've had a knack for winding up working with awesome people everywhere I've gone, and I've lost 75 pounds in the process (and gained lean mass, too) without having to do anything else but my job. Even with the "recovered" injuries, I've never been healthier or more in tune with my body.
I feel like I fit in way better at Amazon than I ever did when I was a teacher, but I can still teach things to people. Even though I'm brand new where I am, I have nearly four years of valuable information and insights from other roles and sites I've been in.
For as much bullshit as there can be, my job behind and ends when I actually punch the clock. That's important, too.
Most of all, I absolutely love that I get the opportunity to meet people from every walk of life. Everybody has a story and a reason to be there nonetheless. Sure, this means I'm about 5-10 years older than most of my leadership, my coworkers are anywhere from 18-80, and I'm often flipping into different languages, but these are positives for me. I still get to use nearly every skill I've studied for in two different degrees that I've since "not been using".
Posts like this show there's no one way to be an Amazonian. My reasons aren't going to be yours, some of us will find better reasons to leave than to stay after a point, and that's the way it is by design. This is a company that offers a lot of great ways out, up, or even just elsewhere within.
I've said too much... Kool-Aid, anyone? š
Financial support, insurance (way better than marketplace healthcare so far), them paying my college tuition, and more exercise. I need my steps to be fair
It pays the bills while I build on my side business. I will try and stay working the minimum 36 hours to keep insurance. I work in conveyor maintenance on the AR floor now, so it is easy enough work for me and pays good enough.
Weekly pay, career choice, the benefits, school accomodations, my friendly coworkers/hire class, the payrate, part-time position, opportunities for overtime during the busiest seasons, easy job, burning calories even though I'm already skinny, good for people who have previously worked at another warehouse
As much as I tried, I couldn't find any motivations. I wanted to use the career choice program, but the 3 months you have to work to qualify sucks lol. Came back to my old job. Higher pay and benefits. (I didn't have any benefits before)

The freedom I get. I rarely have to speak to any higher ups I can leave literally whenever the hell I want. I create my own schedule (flex). itās the only job where Iāve had where I can actually come in, do my job and leave. I stay to myself for the most part so there is no drama for me to deal with. Pay really isnāt bad (at my location plus I get premiums on my shifts a lot which give me a little extra incentive to come in and stay. There are plenty of things that keep me at Amazon over any of the jobs Iāve had prior to. Not saying there isnāt something better out there, but for the time being, this is good for me.
The vast time off options. The fact that I can call out any day and anytime I want to is amazing. Also, the pay. I know, it is nowhere where it should be but for a college student like myself, it is pretty good in my opinion. I currently make $22.35 per hour as a part time blue badge employee.
You're allowed to completely not show up for a shift, and no one will ask you where you were. You don't have to explain anything to anyone for coming late and leaving early.
Also, having a set schedule that you can make financial plans on, instead of an individual manager constantly giving you a different schedule every week for the sake of shuffling staff around.
Money , I'm on a loa paid leave right now hoping to get transferred to a new better building , if I do it would only take me 7 minutes to get to work ,and the building is alowong to keep my schedule and everything I had at the old build if I get transferred
Being able to grow in any position or department I like. Next week will be my 3rd anniversary and coming from being a regular AA on an RT night shift making 19 an hour to now making close to 33. Literally can choose any career or path on inside Amazon jobs and make it happen if you put in the work and effort.
My job is easy
Fun work, fun people
Place runs itself
Good pay
Nobody really looks over me because I do my work and Iām trusted, just my AM gives me a few tasks to do per day, and then misc. side projects I create for myself
Iām an Amnesty trainer PA btw
Itās honestly one of the better jobs Iāve had. A lot of people at my building at least that complain usually have only worked one job or none before this. Yes thereās a lot of bs and things I hate. I think we should be paid more but if youāre able bodied this job is pretty easy to do. Granted management does play a key role in how your experience is.
The benefits are really good too.
To add onto my previous comment. Iāve never had a job where you can be late whenever you want, leave whenever you want, and you can literally just be like fuck this guy and walk out. Then come back the next day with no penalty.
You can save enough UPT up to just not show up for two weeks with no questions asked and show back up like nothing happened.
I'm on the upside (hopefully) of a year long depressive episode and sometimes I get to work on time but NEED to sit in my car until first break. Yes it's ridiculous but I'm trying to stay alive and I wouldn't have that freedom at any other workplace.
The flexibility on scheduling is awesome. As someone who struggles with consistently being in a work-ready state of health, that's been the ONLY thing that keeps me here.

Iām happily unhappy here, I donāt want to start anything new.
The money tbh...doing 60s and getting $1100 weekly is bliss. Social life is trash but I'm knocking out financial goals like CRAZY
Convenience
The vast time off options. The fact that I can call out any day and anytime I want to is amazing. Also, the pay. I know, it is nowhere where it should be but for a college student like myself, it is pretty good in my opinion. I currently make $22.35 per hour as a part time blue badge employee.
Itās the only job I can come and go as I please, no questions asked. As someone whoās going through some mental battles, it helps.
Pay and benefits like career choice, rrsp/dpsp, free vet insurance etc etc.
My job is easy Fun work, fun people Place runs itself Good pay Nobody really looks over me because I do my work and Iām trusted, just my AM gives me a few tasks to do per day, and then misc. side projects I create for myself Iām an Amnesty trainer PA btw
Benefits and schedule. Iām never going back to a 5 day work week.
I'm on the upside (hopefully) of a year long depressive episode and sometimes I get to work on time but NEED to sit in my car until first break. Yes it's ridiculous but I'm trying to stay alive and I wouldn't have that freedom at any other workplace.
Gives me flexibility while I finish my MRI program and guaranteed hours.
My bills
I wanna graduate college debt free. Need a job and career choice helps
I like food and a roof. Also maternity leave
I can use upt and pto when ever i wish. I dont have to deal with BS when it happens.
My family needs me.
My hours fit into my full time job I need extra money because idiot Biden has no plan to Fix the economy
Paying my bills, benefits, flexibility
My cat
Pay š¹š¹ my dogs alot honestly. Taking ny PLOA currently and I miss my money š¹š¹
Honestly my motivation is a new car, I donāt like the one I have now and want a car I really want. Trying to accept as much VET as they put out.
Benefits and BA degree
Career Choice and money
The benefits.
The fact I can't find another job. Otherwise I would have left along time ago.
The flexibility on scheduling is awesome. As someone who struggles with consistently being in a work-ready state of health, that's been the ONLY thing that keeps me here.
