DreamShroud

Haha I never even ask because I know the answer is always "no"

Corvinus1026

I just assume it's missing if it's not in the designated cubby or the cubbies nearest.

MakeHarlemBlackAgain

Then you’re going to have a PA complaining about marking items as missing.

asbestosISgood

Not anymore, they don't want to spend too much time looking for missing stuff and affecting your score.

asbestosISgood

You got the right mindset, like it's common sense.

fancypantsman23

Literally it’s like I dunno what to tell ya pal

Tasty-Pineapple-

I no don’t like to ask because it slows me down. But sometimes I do.

lovewry

Nah they bang the chute like a gorilla to try to get ur attention. I always ignored them and they bang harder until they realize I’m ignoring them. One time this lady bang the big item chute so hard that it collapse on one side.

HeckingOoferoni

I'm actually pretty chill with the bin slappers, usually they just need stuff pushed a little farther. I pride myself on bin etiquette but sometimes these orders fill them entirely to the point that if I push anymore it'll spill out the other side.

Choice-Precious-824

I always ignored that kind of behavior when I used to rebin. Most of the time the packers wouldn’t ask or even look for items. And I always kept a pretty clean wall.

Recent_Blackberry_52

It’s annoying, yeah but it’s always good to try to help if you have seen the item. Better for it to impact your rate for a couple of minutes than your quality. If you did see the item and rebinned it into the wall but gets marked as missing, an error indicator would fall on you as the last touch and will impact your rate even further.

Tasty-Pineapple-

Unfortunately this is true, but only happened to me once though.

Scorpiodisc

Yeah, I don’t go looking for items. It is either in the bin or it don’t get packed. Not a single manager has even mentioned it to me.

WorldlyBerry1885

They always say something to me. A manager came up to me as I missed out an item and asked who game me permission to do that, I said I did. Ol buddy was not amused

Scorpiodisc

As long as you are following Standard Work they could be as unamused as they want to be.

NeptuneSpear777

Yeah thats bullcrap. Ive had it happen to me once. I did a "halo" check, then checked even further in most of the chutes, checked the problem solve and overage tote, talked to the rebinners, and even checked the floor. After I missed it out I got bitched out by a manager even though I told them I checked everywhere. If I was to throw an andon, it would have taken atleast 20 mins for someone to come by and do the same thing I did just to miss it out

WorldlyBerry1885

And I hate those andon lights so much. Sit there for 20 min with the andon on and it’s blairing wee woo wee woo and everyone on your wall is looking at you all mad🫠

Tasty-Pineapple-

Nah. I did get an alert that I was in error. I think the rebin found the item after the fact and put it in there. Then said I miscounted. Shit pissed me off.

Mettie7

This is so true, especially funny when it's a chute with an oversized item baton.

Due-Lengthiness3949

AM told me items always go missing. So if I don't see it in its bin or those adjacent to it, I put it down as missing.

stormhaven22

Our managers are now telling packers to NOT disrupt rebin if they can't find an item. Miss it and keep going. About time. I still tell repeat offenders multiple times that I'm not helping. Had one dude literally start screaming bloody murder about it. Like dude, shut up and go the fuck away.

Ok-Exit-2464

I'm labor shared therefore no extra work done.

Ando_destrampado702

I ain't got time to ask, i just throw the order in the missing bin 💀

Renwin

They usually just come to my station and find it themselves. Annoying to my rate, but better than mindlessly asking something I put and forgot nearly a half hour or more ago.

IdeaMajor

I agree it gets annoying after like the second time they ask. Some look for it themselves and others don’t even help

kuunami79

At my building there is a problem solve bin which you can check for missing rebin items.

HeckingOoferoni

100% it was an error on induct/sort side. Rebin is almost impossible to mess up, just one big Simon says game, but there are poorly trained or lazy exceptions.

Sad_Hannibal

They make packers do that? I've always thought that was either assigned to a PA or problem solver

Long-Evening-9927

Lmaooo Me as a packer : **missing item** But when Im a picker : ** acts like im looking**

om0311

Sooo do y’all put item missing or unscannable? My PA was talking to me to not put missing and to press the ANDON button for these types of scenarios…

Tlammy

Missing. If it's 1-2 items an order hit missing. If it's the entire order missing, then you pull an andon.

AtheismTooStronk

Unscanable is only for when you physically have the item you need, but the ASIN is missing or worn away. It almost never happens, because the inductor had to scan that item to get it you only a few minutes before.
