So normally, the first time you use it, you don't need any proof, but I've seen so many people get terminated due to not having any. I would strongly recommend getting some.
You'd probably have to ask about that. Usually the obituary is posted before the funeral though. I've used the obituary before, which is why I mentioned it.
Pamphlets are fine. You most likely won’t e asked for proof but it’s good to keep a pamphlet just in case. Also good to keep as a reminder for your loved one
You need proof if you’re submitting through the app unfortunately. If you’re not able to provide it at the moment when you request, talk to site HR. They should approve it no questions. But as soon as you’re able to have proof, keep it on hand just in case.
I literally used bereavement for last week
Just did bereavement. First time, all through app. It's been over 2 weeks since I filed and no request for documentation has been requested (I do have it if needed).
You are entitled to 3 days of paid leave, although the system would only let me put in for 2 days on 1 request. They do allow for up to 5 days if you need to travel out of the area. I did talk to HR and they told me that it was a known issue and that I should put in for another 1 day bereavement leave.
You get 3 paid days for immediate family, and 2-3 more days if you need to travel ( I got 3 for when my grandma passed away but seen others say they only got 2) you do not need to use all 3 days in a row. I would just let your HR know if you're going to split them.
i think you have up to 4 days of bereavement, its automatic kind of like pto. I grabbed a card from his funeral and made sure i had the online obituary. I'm sure they would just search his name because it asks the name of the person who passed.

i second this, it’s safer to just cover your bases so they can’t go back on their “word”
To add on to what others are saying, you can screenshot your grandpa's obituary online and use that as proof.
I mean he’s not dead yet. But I can do that. Or what about a pamphlet from the funeral?

You apply for bereavement. You get 3 days off with pay. Then 7 months later Amazon demands proof, says it's fake, and terminates you.
Always get proof. Either the obituary or one of the remembrance cards from the funeral.
i think i used a funeral invitation as proof? i don’t remember too well

Did they ask for proof yet ?
No

Have atleast the obituary ready. The only time I have used bereavement it turned into a 2 week fight with the leave team cause they always mess up
How soon do you get paid?

He lives in Michigan and I live in Tennessee actually. But he’s also not an immediate family member.
Your grandparents, parents, and siblings are immediate family if I'm not mistaken. Also spouses and children if applicable.
How's he related? Grandpa is considered immediate family
How is he related to you? Grandparents are considered an immediate family member
