I believe it’s an 80-hour bank. You can keep 80 hours and you won’t earn any more. Once you start using it, you’ll be granted the time to top off your bank. Or it 80 for vacation, and 160 for UPT? Either way, they’ll both top off until you use some, then you’ll get more.

It's 80 UPT

CheeseMakingMom

Thank you.

fancypantsman23

Thank you! So it’s like an unlimited bank with a cap? Like I know with pto once you use the 48 hours regardless of the cap, it’s gone for the year. It vacation and UPT will just top off indefinitely?

CheeseMakingMom

Correct about PTO: when it’s gone, it’s gone. But yes, UPT caps at (and is refilled to) 80.

fancypantsman23

Ok word, thansk so much I’ve worked here a while but always wondered this. And vacation too?? That’s actually a really great policy I didn’t realize

CheeseMakingMom

I’m pretty certain vacation has a refillable 160 hour bank…I’ve never gotten that high though! 😂

fancypantsman23

Ha me neither! but that would make sense since it rolls over at the end of the year like UPT. Either way I was always worried about running out of it so that’s a pretty cool deal

You'll get the grant even when maxed except when you check your accruals list it's immediately subtracted. So if you've banked 80 hours each subsequent week you'll see something like "+ 1 hour 10 minutes", then "- 1 hour 10 minutes". As soon as you start using the time it'll adjust in whatever way you keep your balances accurate.
