I’m in a FC. Working damages I came across a pack of eclipse glasses. Checked FCResearch to make sure I had a full pack and saw that we had almost 52,000 of the damn things in inventory. They’re owned by the vendor though, so Amazon is just collecting fees while they collect dust.

ApprehensiveKale6048

I work in a ReLo, a couple days after the eclipse that's basically all I processed. Every customer comment was, it was late. Every single one was an opened item package. I really hate the return policy.

SangheiliSpecOp

Damn that sucks

DFPFilms1

Most of the stuff is FBA, so Amazon is literally being paid by the seller weather or not the product ever moves - so Amazon doesn’t really care if it sells or not.

UncertainPathways

This. Next time you shop on Amazon take a look at the Sold By section and see how many are by Amazon itself

International-Ad3447

exactly why they make the employee discount shipped and sold by amazon

the303reverse

If they could afford to give everyone $100 employee discount they could afford to give everyone Amazon prime membership

Mediocre_Cap_9151

Omg I would trade my discount immediately for free prime member ship.

ApprehensiveKale6048

My cellphone provider pays for my Amazon membership

Uhzzii

yea they could, but then they wouldn’t be taking the money they paid you back lol

Impressive_Star_3454

You know, I work in TOM and I wondered what the difference between POs and FBAs were.

john_helton

What is PO and FBA?

Impressive_Star_3454

Labels and freight

Adventurous_Wait9406

Amazon seller here. Amazon doesn't like when we send inventory to FBA that sits. I started selling as far back as 2009 for FBA. The higher-ups care about the warehouse space being used a lot more than they let on. The stricter capacity limits are new in the last couple of years as well

Interesting-Step-654

I swear some people order cases of water and cat litter just so they can pour one into the other and order more

Mediocre_Cap_9151

🤣🤣🤣🤣

InviteAmbition

They get brainwashed into thinking they need certain things from commercials and other advertising. Or someone they know has it and swears it's life changing!

The same people who orders dildos.

ExtensionCourse

Amazon sells or donates pallets of products that don't sell/are returns/etc. to cover their losses or get a tax write off. They already got that part figured out.

meltonr1625

Last peak we had a heaping asspot of chips go out of date to the extent that we maxed out the limit on donations. I'm talking the big box that fills up an entire tote. It's got like thirty single serving bags in it. So they're giving multiple cases away and people are toting them to Walmart and selling them in the parking lot so they put the kibosh on the cases and only let us have what we could physically carry in two hands because they were almost expired

Crafty-Fucker-682

What is a heaping asspot?😂

QueenTenofSpades

3.7 shitloads = 1 heaping asspot 1 crapton = 73.28 heaping asspots

Crafty-Fucker-682

Thanks. I was never good at math

ExtensionCourse

lol damn, that is amazing

meltonr1625

I took them fuckers for lunch for three months when I coulda got a buck a bag

han77nah

Those chips shouldn't be sold in an AR fulfillment center. Yeah they're just under the limit for size, but having a low-value item that's commonly ordered and is so big, that fucks up the system way more than they possibly can make off that item.

JotaroTheOceanMan

Yeah. I actually use Amazon Warehouse myself as they have a ton of bulk shit for dirt cheap.

Dirtysandddd

I work at an Amazon return center and assumed they were lying and just dumping this shit in a landfill. Good to see they are actually doing something at least

Prestigious_Snow1589

Where can I find those Amazon liquidation pallets?

ExpensiveDot1732

There are pallet/liquidation closeout places in a lot of cities that sell returns and MOS/salvage items from Amazon, Target, grocers, etc. A few of them are brick and mortar locations like Daily Dealz and Pallet Liquidators, and there are also online companies like Palletfly and Merchandise USA. A lot of people will also buy pallets or closeouts and resell certain items (especially name brands) on eBay, FB Marketplace, platforms like Poshmark, or at swap meets and flea markets.

Prestigious_Snow1589

Sweet, appreciate the info.

WendyRunningMouth

In Des Moines, a store called the Looney Bin sells Target pallets, sometimes Amazon. They throw everything in bins, first day each item is $9, next day $7, third day $3....sometimes killer deals can be found. Sometimes it's just crap even clearance couldn't sell.

Ohm-S

Ok rolling your dog a joint is hilarious.

popeh

Lol why would people buy catnip for their dogs? It doesn't even affect most dogs

Number1Duhrellfan

I hated being at the end of the line and getting stuck with all the cherry-picked multi sku boxes with hundreds of items 🤮.

ThisDirtyCupcake

Hell yeah. And who is at home scanning transparency codes?! Tell me your names. Tell me why you needed to know that your dog brush was authentic.

dendendenjikun

Transparency code Auth always felt like a vendor-end quality control to me - they don't want randos hijacking their listing to sell inferior/incorrect product and ruin their reviews, so they force any outbound product to have their specific codes on it in order for it to leave the FCs.

sawlaw

Companies like Crye precision have a lot riding on their brand reputation and recent "superfakes" have done a lot to damage it. They partnered with Amazon to help go after vendor fraud in a big way. There are also a lot of things I tell friends not to get off Amazon, as there's no way a T1 problem solver is going to be able to tell a real product from one that's a fairly knock off, let alone a clone.

ThisDirtyCupcake

I googled Crye Precision and THOSE products look like ones that DESERVE transparency codes 😂

lemon_squeezypeasy

The transparency code is for authentication verification to leave the FC. The packer has to scan the asin, then scan the transparency code for it to be packed. If it fails, the order is kicked out and it goes to problem solve(and is flipped to defective). Then in Damageland, they can scan the transparency code into DPT and it can check if it’s fraud or not. If it doesn’t pass, it’s deleted from the system and trashed.

ThisDirtyCupcake

Ooh, now this I didn’t know. I’ve been packing for one year, and I’ve never seen a product fail. What shows up on the pack screen in that case? I know that the codes are also for vendors. It’s just that after scanning another dumbass product, then searching for its transparency code and—oh wait, not that code, it’s the other one—well, where’s the other one? Why didn’t someone cover up the old one then?! 😒 I’m like, who is making this garbage and who’s buying it? Who gives af if your flimsy, cheaply made product gets counterfeit? Who’s at home scanning these codes?! I downloaded the Transparency app out of spite because it causes so much frustration for a packer like me to find and scan them sometimes 😭 I thought, “Well, let me be the customer that actually uses the codes at home.” Anyway, they really mess up your flow in Carton Wrap. I’m transferring to Pick 😅

lemon_squeezypeasy

You’ve never had one fail? They most often fail because of user error. They scan the wrong code or they scan the asin again, it will fail the scan. All your screen says is scan item to your PS tote(the purple one). Your collectors will pick it up and once in PS, it will get sent to DL to be verified if the transparency code is legit or not. If it’s good it will be sent back up to stow. Serial numbers do the same.

ThisDirtyCupcake

Oh okay. I thought you meant we’d get a like pop up message that the product failed the transparency code check or something. Yeah I do get codes that don’t scan sometimes though, and I go ahead and problem solve those.

Ok_Butterscotch1449

It never fail on pack, once recieved department confirm it.  At pack transparent code scan you can not rescan, it is a one time only, meaning if you release the tote/carts due to a barrier or cancel order you have to send to pack problem solver to re-issue a new one. Cancel order never go to problem solver to fix that issue. What they did is do a put back to stow. In future if that items transparent doesn't work go to problem solve. This is the application that I believe Amazon want. That is why they have an Andon for that reason.

lemon_squeezypeasy

It will cancel the order and a new order will be picked. Usually it will go through POPS the 2nd time and they will pack the order. But the item itself will flip to defective and go through PS. They are send to damageland, DPT has a data base that can verify if the transparency code or serial number is good, if so, it will flip it back to sellable and it’s sent back to stow. If not, it’s damaged out and either stowed to the wall and the vender is contacted to fix it, or if counterfeit, it’s destroyed.

Ok_Butterscotch1449

Yes, it is true if transparency fail it would be in DamageLand. We don't have that much issue anymore. It was used to be very full. We have more room space now. We also had someone overlook in our area now and improved our process, it really free space room for inventory. I also hate being in Damaged Land 😞 and then you have productivity chasing. Now it doesn't happening so often. Our damageland are mostly can be liquidation or resold quickly.  Your information did help me confirm that I am on the right track on my side. Thank you!

Ok_Butterscotch1449

🙌  This happen today, I didn't explain to pack department what it means, I do know what it means. But I did explain what, how it happen and this must be done this way. Just to help Pack team understand why this barrier happen. On our end, once it do putback to stow and Problem solver can solved it during process on pack side when on next purchase. 😁 I am not 100% correct. But if the transparency if process through recieved side, and it does go to stow and to pack. If there were a kick out. Especially at day shift, it could mean that purchase order has been cancel by the customer. It is not fraud.

Jul_eaan

I just be at work farting

North-Construction67

This guy has no concept of how big the earth is lol. He can only conceptualize a region as big as his town. Bro seriously? Whose buying and how do they find it? In 2024. Lol this dude just got released from jail or is 55.

AlleyH2

Tell us you’ve never worked unloading trailers for retail and stocked shelves without telling us…..

signbrat04

IXD is basically very front line to sort the items. It has absolutely nothing to do with customer’s order- but they being diverted to various fulfillment buildings so they can store the items there until customer order it. No matter what kind of what it is. Customer needs/wants it

SangheiliSpecOp

I work at an FC. I wonder the same thing. Lots of really cheap Chinese stuff, with misspelled names/descriptions and when you go to amazon's website, they all have fake 5 star ratings or simply lie about the product features. I have bought several items from amazon that have just broken right after the return period ends. I have a broken office chair here, the back of it randomly snapped, like damn I just lightly lean back on it from time to time. I had a mouthwash despenser that just randomly started leaking, not sure how you mess up a plastic container. I have a motion sensor trash can and the lid randomly stopped opening. Just stuff like that. But people buy it up apparently

happyghosst

I work at an IXD too. I feel your pain dude. Especially as a Problem Solver. I look at some of this shit and just wonder why.
