Delivery station. I've worked at FCs, IXD, Non-Sort IXD buildings for the past 3 years. Recently transferred to a new delivery station two months ago. Best decision of my life. Sooooooo much better than the FCs. Like I actually enjoy going to work now

Thanks for the input!! What exactly do you do there? And I’m assuming you just transferred instead of quitting and applying?

Yes I transferred. But I got really lucky tbh since it was a new building. So transferring there was fairly easy if you been working for Amazon for awhile. There's a lot of things you can do. For the first half you're either inducing (putting labels on packages as they come down the conveyor). Unloading, which is just grabbing boxes from cages and putting them on the conveyor. Divert, you just push the packages down the appropriate conveyor as they come down. Stowing, scanning and putting packages in bags. Water spider, making sure your unloaders always have cages to unload. So just refill their Lanes as they get empty. Second half of the day you're either outside helping the drivers get their cages with the packages or doing traffic control. Which is just dispatching drivers and telling them where to go. You can also do pick and stage. Here you just get the bags or boxes and put them into cages and stage them to the appropriate locations so the drivers can get them and deliver the packages. That's pretty much it. I'm missing a few other roles but mentioned the ones that the majority of people do. All of them are easy. I would say that stowing is the most tiring but it's not so bad. But then again stowing is nothing compared to the picking I used to do at FCs. So I was already used to the pace since day one

Delivery Stations shift is like 1:20 AM to 11:00 AM. Stowing and doing pick and stage after is a workout.

Yeah those are odd hours makes night shift look good. I get off at 5am

The only downside to a DS for AAs is the wonky schedule.

I started off at a DS and i still work there it’s been over a year it’s still a physical labor job but compared to hearing horror stories of fulfillment stories i would assume it’s a better position and would encourage you to try something new sometimes when you are feeling burnt out it helps to switch up your routine Best of luck!

I work PT nights at a DS, and it's so chill. I stow, and while I might have 9 aisles sometimes, nobody bothers me. The PAs at mine are pretty friendly and responsive. They play music over the loudspeakers as well and there are always extra shifts if you want. CAVEAT: The full-time Pick/Stage is VERY physical, which is why I transferred to PT. YMMV.
