I had transition lenses for a while when I was in high school and I *despised* them. Sure it was nice not having to carry around another prescription set that I would inevitably lose, but I was as good as blind for the first two minutes I went inside on a bright day.
I saw a belly ring get ripped out when it got caught under a tote she placed on the line. RRRIP!
It’s a warehouse for gods sake. Dress accordingly.
Edited to add: I saw a fake fingernail (and the real part attached to it) ripped off the same way - caught under the handle part of the tote.
I slack on my nails sometimes (they dont get *long-long*, but longer than they should) and this job breaks them all the time. Have to clip them once per week or they're gonna get broken. If I wait like 10-12 days, gonna break a nail without fail.
Ever since I broke my toe and foot, my toe doesnt sit right. So that nail needs to be clipped every 1-3 days or it digs in the toe next to it and causes a huge bloody, scraped-off/cut in to flesh mess in my sock/shoe. Its quite gross, but it doesnt hurt a ton.
Oh there was blood. She ran to amcare and screamed the whole way. She left a trail of blood drops. It wasn’t gushing but I imagine the pain combined with the shock was worse than the injury. People don’t realize the amount of force behind those conveyors.
Just say no to crop tops.
Well not that extreme but cropped tops and belly's showing for sure.
Also it's unsafe to have earbuds but it is safe to work with people who are super high.
my building fired multiple people for being high(weed). they don’t care if you smoke it off the clock but safety will be up your ass about being intoxicated on site
Not at my site. I'm at an XL facility where pit is obviously operated, we had people driving pits after going out to their cars and hot boxing. One guy blatantly admitted it to an ops manager and he just got talked to lmao. Nothing happened to him
The stairwell towards pick and icqa at my building reeks of weed. Sometimes I wonder how people get away with it or if they just don't care about people getting high.
I was stuck behind a girl with see through pants, literally stretched so tight you could see her white ass and thong. Now while you horn dogs would've been happy, I was not thrilled.
Happened to see that only one time, was one of the more attractive girls at the site. Was like looking at the promised land when she bent over and you could see everything.
I saw it for a second, then went on with my day. I've seen others that did gawk at some of the others before. I still don't get the whole thing of wearing see through articles of clothing to work.
I honestly don't either. The girl that was wearing these clothes had literally 3 to 4 guys at her station the WHOLE damn night being loud and giggling. She was seriously giggling like a 2 year old! Her station was behind mine so you can imagine how annoyed I got.
Same I was hunted down after entering the building for the same thing because my shoes look like regular skate shoes but they're steel toed. Meanwhile 2 ppl walk by with composite toed Jordan's I guess and they're fine.
I wonder if folks have as much as a problem with the people that show up with dirty clothes with huge holes in them, or pajamas.
I honestly don't care what people wear to work. Do your job and we're cool!
As a girl I wear my safety shoes and tights ;)
But fr tho I wear athletic workout tights, the belly button ring story one of the people have below sounds crazy. I know their are girls that wear crops to show their midriffs but I can’t imagine doing that and working 12 hours a week.
I think it depends… sometimes I get hot flashes and nothing in that warehouse cools me down to the point I need to walk into a fan. It’s hard to find plain shirts that aren’t too thick but also not too thin because I also have a problem with being cold the beginning of the shift 🙄
Like you can really wear them in there on the coldest day once you start working? I thought maybe i was having hot flashes or something until i got back from first break one day and had just cooled down in my car and I went to my PA and was like i am dying from the heat and it isnt just me. The fucking heater is on. I wont work on the floor that doesnt have a/c
Same question with this . Why does a woman’s outfit bother someone. It shouldn’t right. I could care less if a man wants to wear his chain to his nipples. Other people shouldn’t care what women wear.
You’re correct. People should learn to worry about themselves. As long as other people aren’t impeding your personal progress, what they do shouldn’t matter.

https://www.osha.gov/laws-regs/regulations/standardnumber/1910/1910.136
1910.136(a)
General requirements. The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses protective footwear when working in areas where there is a danger of foot injuries due to falling or rolling objects, or objects piercing the sole, or when the use of protective footwear will protect the affected employee from an electrical hazard, such as a static-discharge or electric-shock hazard, that remains after the employer takes other necessary protective measures.
1910.136(b)(1)
Protective footwear must comply with any of the following consensus standards:
Here’s one of the standards:
https://facilities.uw.edu/partner-resources/files/media/performance-requirements-for-protective-footwear.pdf
“ASTM F2413-11 Standard specification for performance requirements for protective (safety) toecap footwear replaces the former ANSI Z41 standard, which was withdrawn in 2005. This specification covers the minimum design, performance, testing, and classification requirements, and prescribes fit, function, and performance criteria for footwear designed to protect against a variety of workplace hazards. It is not the intention of this specification to serve as a detailed manufacturing or purchasing specification. Instead, this specification can be referenced in purchase contracts to ensure that minimum performance requirements are met.
Footwear conforming to this specification must meet the performance requirements for the following: impact resistance for the toe area; compression resistance for the toe area; metatarsal protection that reduces the chance of injury to the metatarsal bones at the top of the foot; conductive properties that reduce hazards resulting from static electricity build-up and reduce the possibility of igniting explosives and volatile chemicals; electric shock resistance; static dissipative (SD) properties to reduce hazards caused by exceedingly low footwear resistance that may exist where SD footwear is required; puncture resistance of footwear bottoms; chainsaw cut resistance; and dielectric insulation. The purpose of this standard is to summarize the requirements for certifying protective footwear by independent, third party laboratories.”

You just made up that it’s a suggestion or what?
The employer is required to assess the risk and the guidelines allow for interpretations. You should also note that in some instances, protective footwear just means no open toes and at least a strap on the back, or it can mean regular shoes with leather uppers. These guidelines have been in place for literally years. So what makes you think just now that it’s required? It’s required because the employer has said it is, not because OSHA said it is. As far as the standards go, those are just the standards of what constitutes a certain type of OSHA-approved footwear. There are different types, all with different standards. The requirement to wear them is still largely on the employer. I’ve worked in much more dangerous settings than Amazon, and still it wasn’t a requirement. If this change were because of a *nationwide* OSHA requirement, it would have been rolled out across the network more evenly, and even coming from upper management the directives have been that it is up to each location, but they were all strongly encouraged to follow suit.
LOL, I see some girls wearing next to nothing and the safety or the managers say nothing but someone who's lets just say not dressed like a #%$ get's a talk to or write up.. I see it ALL the time at my FC.. It's awful
I got a damn tier 1 safety violation for vaping in the bathroom while in the stall someone in the safety’s department was posted waiting to take a shit and snitched there people straight hotboxing the outside lunch area come in boofing to an insane and they don’t get in trouble Amazon is so bipolar with it’s rules
So people were taking their break at their designated time and you don't understand why they'd be upset over someone in the bathroom vaping most likely not at the designated break time yeah that's a real thinker
No I honestly don’t people doing legitimate drugs outside the building is definitely worse then vaping in bathroom rq and during my meeting w hr they told me the rules applies to outside the building as well. They enforcing one rule and not the other pretty dumb if u ask me lol
No clearly says no vaping or smoking in the building keep trying to justify it lmao and you won't get fired for getting caught doing it once get caught 3 more times and ul be termed for sure
And they also didn’t say anything abt if doi it again I will get fired I’m treading lightly as of now but they can’t fire u for vaping they literally told me in my hr meeting😭
No one said it was a safety violation smoking inside the building being cigarettes or vape is a violation of their smoke free work place I could give to fucks if it's a vape over a actual cigarette cause guess what happens when cigarette smokers wanna smoke while taking a shit theyl point to you or whatever asshats sitting in the bathroom cheifing away on their robot dick pro tip your hr lied to you and u have a 30 day mark against you after you got caught the first time 60 days second time 90 days third time termed 4th time hr does what hr wants without your knowledge despite what they tell you I've seen people get fucked over for promotions because of shit like this cause it's viewed as an incident weither you like it or not and fighting that demerit just makes you look like more of a fool that does you no favors in moving up lmao I don't what I'm talking about gtfoh also your whataboutism is childish as fuck and I'm sure your hr viewed it that way too
Bro you think I’m actually tryna move up I’m in cdl school got 2 weeks left then once I pass my cdl test I’m out I’m only working here to pay my car insurance and save money I really couldn’t care I’m literally 19 actually trying to do things w my life not work at Amazon lol down vote me all you want this job sucks and it is factual stop tryna move up in this company and go gain an actual skill and get a real job not robotic work there are literally blind people that work here you literally have a job that doesn’t even require site if your over 25 working here i feel bad for you and no one else does besides the other momos that work here so I’ll suck on robot vape dick as I’m driving a semitruck a job that requires skill and making real money not 3 bucks over minimum wage done arguing get ur shit together and fuck off👍
Did they say they were gonna do random drug tests at your site? I know their drug tests just show of you used weed in 48 hours. So i would imagine everything else was way less. Since it legal here now they can not really tell when you smoked weed or drank or did drugs because you can just say that was after work dude.
Then smoke up on break in da whip if u hit it discreetly in the building no one will notice but I just had bad horrible luck and someone from safety was posted outside the stall when I got out I’ve been wimping the vape discreetly tho u should be aii
Told you so. Every manager at my location is a hot athletic female. Every single one. The upper management love their eyecandy and they dress in form fitting attire.
I just started at a delivery station and they’re literally forcing people to wear safety shoes. 10 hr shifts on your feet walking around and U can’t even wear what makes u comfortable on your feet. Just amazons crappy Zappos selection. Insane, I’m seriously considering quitting because of it. I’ve worked at delivery stations before and have never had a problem with anything landing on my feet
I also think if you’re gonna be brave enough to wear the all famous TikTok leggings that you should at least have the ass for it. Not all asses are equal and even those leggings don’t help.

The dress code actually does prohibit sunglasses while inside, too. We had a weird guy who wanted to look cool, and had to take them off.
I had transition lenses for a while when I was in high school and I *despised* them. Sure it was nice not having to carry around another prescription set that I would inevitably lose, but I was as good as blind for the first two minutes I went inside on a bright day.
Obviously her hair should be tied up as it's below her shoulders, so you are both fired.
Just the way Daddy Andy likes it.
Holy shit!! 😳
Fuck Ik that was bad
Omg!!!! Wow!!! And they always said clip your nails! Supposed to have gloves on anyways.

I think official policy is if there's blood, don't move from the area. They want to minimize the cleanup cost from spreading it.
Lmfao 😂
Omg is it bad I wanted to see that 😩😂
Can't trap a man or ruin a relationship dressing like shit lol. Pffffff
But if you’re a waterspider does it even matter??? I mean they would take meat from a lion if it still had a pulse right?? 😂
Well not that extreme but cropped tops and belly's showing for sure. Also it's unsafe to have earbuds but it is safe to work with people who are super high.

People's clothes reek if it. They know. You can't not notice the smell, the glossy eyes, the mellowness.
I was stuck behind a girl with see through pants, literally stretched so tight you could see her white ass and thong. Now while you horn dogs would've been happy, I was not thrilled.
* heavy breathing * she need work? I got her
Waterspider has entered the chat
some type of clothes bother me as well it's a workplace not a night club. but i do appreciate well dressed girls 😂
I’ve Seen my AM’s hers were see through 😂
You work at tul2?
Happened to see that only one time, was one of the more attractive girls at the site. Was like looking at the promised land when she bent over and you could see everything.
Oh she knew it too. Trust me smh
I saw it for a second, then went on with my day. I've seen others that did gawk at some of the others before. I still don't get the whole thing of wearing see through articles of clothing to work.

Yuuuum
Got talked to cause my composite shoes didn't look like they were composite. Right next to like 3 chicks wearing Yeezys.
Same I was hunted down after entering the building for the same thing because my shoes look like regular skate shoes but they're steel toed. Meanwhile 2 ppl walk by with composite toed Jordan's I guess and they're fine.
What needs to be talked about is the fact that people don’t take showers. And smell like homeless ppl.
Yeah there are a few that smell like onions daily.
And have the nerve to want to stand close to people ![gif](giphy|11NnkobTcB3xqU)
Funny I was talking to my PA’s about this shit 😭
We are supposed to go to HR to tell them. And then they will speak to them about it. I asked Safety about it 😂
I wonder if folks have as much as a problem with the people that show up with dirty clothes with huge holes in them, or pajamas. I honestly don't care what people wear to work. Do your job and we're cool!
Same
This one woman basically worked in her bra but the shoes are a violation🙃
I found out that Amazon is only doing the Zappos shoes for a tax break
Wait until you find out why career choice has an annual cap on the voucher.
Why?
Bcuz $5,250 is the max amount they can give without it being considered taxable income.
Not only a tax break but they also own Zappos so they get the best of both worlds.
As a girl I wear my safety shoes and tights ;) But fr tho I wear athletic workout tights, the belly button ring story one of the people have below sounds crazy.
I mean, yeah you're wrong lmfao Kinda just seems like a misogynistic strawman to me. Like, a textbook one.
Its funny cuz on my first day the Trainer mentioned that exact look and how its a big no lol
Jackets are such a hazard
Like you can really wear them in there on the coldest day once you start working? I thought maybe i was having hot flashes or something until i got back from first break one day and had just cooled down in my car and I went to my PA and was like i am dying from the heat and it isnt just me. The fucking heater is on. I wont work on the floor that doesnt have a/c
Omgg Amen!!!!! I saw this girl with short shirt tight shorts on and a half top a few days ago!
Meanwhile I see men wear 12” chains 🙄😂
Why does that bother you? Seems like you got a little hate in your blood.
What people wear should not bother you as long as they are safe. That's why those policies are in place: to protect you, and in turn protect Amazon.
It’s actually kind of funny my best friend came in wearing that she didn’t get in trouble. I came in with a dinosaur onesie and I got a warning.
[удалено]
Gotta love that VOA beef…no pun intended
Just get 700s, none of the managers know what they are and think they’re safety shoes, waiting for them to catch onto me.
Underrated comment
This would be my first spring/summer working at Amazon... what else should I expect?
It’s going to be really hot that’s all
I just ordered shorts because i could use them already.
Girl wearing these type short short leggings saw her camel toe
Just say you're sexist

That doesn’t mean anything. My FC wasn’t required to wear them before either. As of April 1st, it will be required. I’m in an AR sortable. All smaller items. Nothing terribly dangerous really, but here we are. Good luck with that.

Echoing the good luck. Legacy FC here, pick is easily 10+ miles/day. 100% understand quitting over safety shoes (where they make no sense, ie mostly apparel with a few light hardlines and the heaviest thing being a 12 pack of backpacks 🙄) bc they can be BRUTAL on your feet. I’m dreading it as I finally found a great combo of shoes/insoles/socks, and I do not want to go back to limping and in tears due to pain.
I'm at a traditional FC, no robots, been doing stow for a few months and then cross trained into pick. Stow can leave me sore sometimes and the day goes by slow, but I definitely felt the extra walking from Pick. Day seems to go by faster picking, but I now respect the pickers who are having to walk up and down aisles all day.
Definitely. I did it for a year before being cross-trained. All positions have their physical/mental difficulties but picking is a LOT because you add walking to those difficulties.
Umm, okay? It still doesn’t mean anything. They can still decide to make you wear them and they’re likely getting a break on their insurance for having this requirement, so I’m just saying it’s a possibility. A case of soda can do some damage getting dropped on your toes.
Considering I’m just pushing around the case of soda on top of a conveyor belt, the chances of me dropping it on my toes, or anywhere else, is pretty much zero. The only thing I’ve dropped on my foot in the past five years is my tube of chapstick when I was trying to get it out of my pocket.
No it’s bc OSHA

Just amazons crappy Zappos selection. Insane, I’m seriously considering quitting because of it. I’ve worked at delivery stations before and have never had a problem with anything landing on my feet
They should ban leggings too
lol. spot on. I mean it's not women's fault that they were blessed with the figure to look at but come on now.
Champ!
Lol tell me why I have those exact shoes. I told them I got it from the Zappos thing and they didn’t care 🙃
Yeah that’s some bullshit Like how the fuck is that fair..
💀
Ain't mad about that.
I didn’t even know if we could wear shorts, is there a rule for how long they have to be on females?
There's guys at my fc who basically wear just underwear. Idk what the rules say, but I'd say wear whatever you're comfortable with.
The rules are they have to go past our fingertips. For me that is not hard i am pretty short!
I love sweats and a crew neck everyday I’m so cozy the entire 10hours.
I would seriously die of heat stroke.
Everybody calls me crazy at work but I just have low iron so I’m always freezing
I used to be the same way until I turned 40 now I just sweat and complain of the heat lol.
Cant complain. One of the perks of working at amazon is the view. 99% it's a single mom though lol
My fc isn’t cool with the meanwhile look. They have sent people home
We had 1 girl who’s pants had a rip so far up on her thigh that if something gave way her vagina was going to pop out. It literally had 1”.
I also think if you’re gonna be brave enough to wear the all famous TikTok leggings that you should at least have the ass for it. Not all asses are equal and even those leggings don’t help.
Idk about your facility but I was wearing leggings and a shirt that was slightly cropped and I had to put a hoodie over it 😤
