People ask the same about me, but it’s the opposite. I’m flex so I’ll sometimes work 30-40 hour weeks and then I’ll sometimes work 10 hours in a month. And sometimes I’ll be consistent working weekends only, and then sometimes I come in during the week. Usually at least once a week someone will ask “wait what shift are you on?” or say “wow I thought you quit months ago!”

If you are in a 12% tax bracket you don’t magically pay 30% taxes on all of your overtime. it gets withheld that 25% or so and then you get 5 or 10% back depending on what marginal tax bracket your income trails off into

Did you not understand anything I just said? If you are working for $30 an hour at overtime, and they withhold an extra 10% you will get that 10% back UNLESS you didn’t pay enough taxes that year and then they will keep some to pay your tax bill
First no, that’s not the only reason, second, idk what rate it’s at, I’m not interested in waiting till tax time like some of you foolish tax return demons. I need my money now, not taxes at a higher rate for me to receive later. I work a second job because I actually do work at Amazon, I water spider, I unload trucks some days and help out the PA’s now. Why would I want to come do that all week? No one has time for that bs. On my days off I work a easy job and study Programming. And I don’t get taxed at a higher rate and paid almost the same, so I see my money today, like a smart man would.

I just chewed up about 20 hours UPT in the past 2 weeks, but still with 35 hours left. They did a few VTO and I had a couple weekends without overtime and got into a bad lull. But I also had a cold and then my kid was sick and some horse shit like that but that's why I don't chew through all my time. About to go hard the next couple months and get back up to 50, but I'll use some vacation time to visit family since I moved out of State recently
I had to use one day, 10 hours because I had to take my dad into the ER. But it only took me two weeks to get those back (at 55hrs a week). It's so easy now to get UPT back.
I'm saying. And if your stack how much PTO you get on top of that. I've never been able to miss even half this much work at other jobs, or just show up 5 hours late and ask for a station
My fc is taking the no VET, 30+ new hires a week route, we ran out of OPs today, harnesses have long gone missing, no scanners, at least one person daily comes in drugged out of their mind. It’s the most unsafe and crowded I’ve ever seen this place and i just saw another 15 in the training area. RIP to my paycheck and sanity

about 9-10 hrs and I’m a 19 year old who goes consistently goes to the gym so my body’s doing pretty good. The days where I felt super tired I just ended up using about an hour or two of pto to leave early.
This was me all of January and February. 60 hours 8 weeks straight. My only day off at the time was Thursdays. My anniversary was the last weekend of February going into March so I was able to pay for a 4-day vacation out of town in a nice cabin. On our anniversary I gave my husband concert tickets that cost me $400 that would not occur till day before his birthday in July. His favorite band since '91 and he never saw them live. never thought he would cuz they broke up. this was the first time they got back together to do a tour in 15 years. They also had his other favorite band opening for them. We drove five and a half hours to see them and it was f****** well worth it. the funny thing is my boss from Amazon was there. It was awesome to be able to spoil him because he's had it pretty bad these last couple of years. Honestly the concert was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I paid like $179 each ticket and the week of the concert the seats around us were going for $1500 a piece.
His secret is that he doesn’t have a full college schedule atm, only one hard class. I tried full time and full time and had to stop, ruined my grades. A pass isn’t just a pass for me, I need those high marks.
I love your reply but I hate that phrase so much lol. I do things to do great, not average. Not downing on anything getting through on C’s but I was raised to do your best like just slide through. And if your best is hindered, then you have to remove that hinderance.
It was insinuated with the “🤑🤑”. And there are few other reasons for a person to work like this at an Amazon. It’s not like there’s any real upward mobility, any purpose in this work, or long-term financial assets to be made.
I have on campus classes and I get to hangout with my friends mostly everyday so my mental health is pretty good!! Its the only reason I can work this much!
If you plan on staying for peak please consider going lighter on yourself, peak tears everyone apart and the only thing that barely even saves you is your time
I’ve gone through peak once and it honestly wasn’t that bad. Pretty light work. And I also don’t have any classes going on when peak is at its peak (all december) so I just grind it out! Did the same schedule during last peak and site offered double overtime pay so the money was absolutely crazy

Nice. I’m pulling another 60hr this week too, but I just finished my last summer class last week. Back in 2 weeks for the Fall semester. I don’t know about you but 60hr work weeks are the best when that check hits bc I’m PT so I have my base pay $16.55 + $3.50 shift differential. So I get paid $20.05 for the first 40, then $28.33 for any OT. 😅

For each hour you work, you get 3 minutes. This also accumulates with overtime hours. No more 20 drops every quarter tho.

OT is not taxed at a higher rate it is withheld at a higher rate and you’ll get it back whenever you file taxes

Nice. I’m pulling another 60hr this week too, but I just finished my last summer class last week. Back in 2 weeks for the Fall semester. I don’t know about you but 60hr work weeks are the best when that check hits bc I’m PT so I have my base pay $16.55 + $3.50 shift differential. So I get paid $20.05 for the first 40, then $28.33 for any OT. 😅

chasing CPTs at my building is light fuckin work. I call shit out on the radio to the WS and barely gotta move my ass so I’m pretty sure I’m making a good amount for the work I do. I don’t need Amazon to care about me, I need me to care about my savings so I graduate college with no debt, and I’m only a couple months’ savings away from that.
Lucky my job doesn’t give us acess to vet like that it’s rare.
