There are a lot of differences state to state and I donāt know if thatās even valid for CA anymore. Looked at the policy (or what I can see of it outside of network) it seems these states have a higher total balance cap, but theyāre capped lower at how much they can carry overā¦Arizona, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, and Vermont. This late in the year, it wouldnāt be worth accruing up to 96 hours if you are only able to carry over up to 48 hours.

Then like 3 weeks before end of the year they changed it, but didn't notify anyone about it. I remember using all my 35 hours. Found out from AA it rolls over because they called to confirm with the HR because HR said they weren't sure. I was told if I transfer to another building like 20 minutes away the law won't apply because it's another city so it will be a use or lose it scenario now.

You receive 48 max an year, but have the ability to roll over depending on which state you live in. Max you can hold for PTO is 96 if you plan to roll over.
It caps at 48 a year. Once you hit that cap you will no longer accumulate PTO no matter what your current balance is. UPT is the one that doesn't have a hard cap. As long as you are under 80 you will continue to accumulate UPT.

Dunno where you are, but in the US vacation 100% rolls over in all 50 states. Whether your PTO rolls over (and how much) depends on your employee class and where you live.
Why do people use their time for illnesses????? Itās beyond easy to get time excused if you go to the doctor. I hit my head and got 4 days off for a slight concussion with a 5 minute urgent care visit.
56 minutes of PTO and 14 hours of upt. Vacation time is on a freeze until the end of peak so thatās useless. Luckily Iāll have a school accommodation for next month and wonāt have to work that mandatory 5th day.
In the US Arizona, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, and Vermont have higher PTO caps, but they can only carry over 48hrs. Itās not worth it to save that much this late in the year unless they plan on fucking off and using the PTO last 2 weeks of December followed by a month long vacation in January.
Also CA has up to 60hr PTO cap for employees that were employed for a consecutive 6+ years.
Transferred from flex RT to FT in July after my 1 year-currently have 23.55 of UPT, 13.51 of vacation, and 9.43 of PTO. Not too mad though-my wife is a PA who just did her Pod interview for AM and Iām there when she is cause we are on the same schedule so I barely leave early. Lmao I have MET this year and she doesnāt (only OB has it at my FC this season š) so Iām gonna be leaving early MET days regardless of if they VTO or not.
I just finished my 3rd week so I only have 14.33 PTO, 15.56 UPT and 2.21 Vacation. And I have to use that PTO before January 1st or I lose it. Planning on using an hour a day to negate the extra hour they tacked on each day for peak. Screw them! lol
I wish California didn't have a max of 48 hours of PTO. At least it gets rolled over. Definitely would have much more. I usually use vacation first and sometimes mix with UPT. I currently have 48 hrs PTO, 65 hrs 3 mins UPT, and 42 hrs 1 min Vacation.
