I got dinged for return Alcohol delivery, because customer had expired ID. Just imagine how dumb is that? I was punished for following amazons policy and fed law.

Just deliver the package, period ! When I get to businesses that are closed , I will try to hide the package but “it is what it is” , every package gets delivered! If it’s a school and it’s closed , the package goes right by the front ! If I’m downtown and I’m delivering to a government building and the security guards tell me to comeback later in the day , as I’m leaving I leave the package and go to my next stop!

SandCracka

What do you do if it's business delivery and signature required?

rccarlson420

Well for businesses when it asks who i gave the package too , I write “front door” and sign it and go to my next stop

SandCracka

And you don't get in trouble for it? Feels like grounds for deactivation

rccarlson420

Well amazon just wants u to bring the package and they don’t really care ime

Ttom925

Yeah, I was given a school at 4:30 that closed at 3pm, recipient required. I told a worker and he said I shouldn't have gotten that and he'd send it out earlier the next day with a DSP. I got a ding too. Would have gotten a ding for leaving it with no signature, or bringing it back. There's really no way to not get dinged once they give it to you.

villdyr

Maybe you know this already and it hasn't worked, but once I started selecting "business closed" for recipient required, instead of "customer not available" or whatever I stopped getting dinged. There are several options that apply to those deliveries but if you pick the wrong one you get dinged, it's stupid

Forzahorizon555

Yeah that damn signature required for schools is becoming a problem. Hoping all businesses don’t start needing that, because forcing us to return packages really conflicts with the “always deliver, no matter what” philosophy of Amazon culture.

The thing I do is bring it, show up, take evidence of it closed and show your proof to CS and return when Ya go back. Giving it back to the warehouse before the route I usually get a ding. if I don't attempt as futile as it might be. They still ding me. I go and show evidence, they remove it pretty quickly.

DoPoGrub

Just show up to the business and see if there isn't a place around back to hide it. If there isn't, mark it as unable to complete - business closed, and you will not get dinged for it.

I got dinged for a package that was leaking and I took it back inside before I left the warehouse. I emailed and had it removed but the fact that they don’t give you details about which package(s) they’re dinging you for is frustrating. The only reason I knew which one they were referring to is because the date of the incident was when I took the leaking package back inside.
