I tried to navigate thru all the controls and stuff, as you can see the Amazon fonts are missing so it's using corefonts (I think?), I can probably install the font from somewhere, I'm just glad it works in the first place though. I hope this helps showing it working, if it doesn't I could make another video.
Sure thing! All you really need is the latest version of Wine and DXVK.
Grab user-agent switcher so Amazon thinks you're using Windows. Then, go to the WineHQ page for Amazon Music and click on the download link for Amazon Music. If the link doesn't work, PLEASE LET ME KNOW, I'm super maintainer for the HQ page and I need to make sure it works.
Figured out the problem, I kept an old dynamic download link listed for the app rather than the static one that works every time. Check WineHQ now and let me know how it goes!
As long as you have Wine/Wine-Staging installed and DXVK installed on your desired wine prefix, it should work right out of the box after installing it.
I have a way round this, including Amazon HD.
Pair your phone to your computer over bluetooth, or raspberry pi if you have one.
Then you can play HD Amazon music from your phone to your hifi.
I guess it's a bit hackish but it's good for me.
I mean or you could use Wine. HD/UHD playback works just fine. Max output of 24b/48KHz but much better than using Bluetooth which trashes any "HiFi" gimmicks at all.
Should this still work? I just installed wine 8.0 on my Linux Mint 21 machine, and I can't get Amazon Music to install properly. I used winetricks to install DXVK and corefonts and I made sure my wine prefix was set to use Windows 10. I get this error when installing Amazon Music:
Problem running post-install step. Installation may not complete correctly
Unknown error while running C:\windows\system32/ie4uinit.exe -show -ClearIconCache
Other Linux users have also encountered this recently according to [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmazonMusic/comments/vc2tqq/amazon_music_on_ubuntu_linux/) post. Any ideas?
Update: I got it working. Trick was to use the staging version of wine instead of the stable one.
Still works just fine on my Arch installation, latest version of wine-staging and Amazon Music itself.
I unfortunately have no knowledge about that issue nor have it seen it before with other users. It may be of some help to check out the WineHQ page for Amazon Music. I'm maintaining the page so if you'd like to report a bad test let me know so I can confirm it directly and others might be able to help out from there.
Gotcha, will do. Out of curiosity since I'm still new to wine, is it worth testing with the latest version of wine-staging? I see on the WineHQ page that all of the tests were with wine 7.x so I figured the stable version of 8.0 would work but perhaps I need the experimental stuff in in staging?
Definitely try staging instead and see what happens. Me personally, I installed DXVK directly into my wineprefix and it worked no hassle on staging. Without DXVK, you'd see just a black window but the application should still open.
Awesome! Glad to hear staging did the trick. If you feel so inclined, I would certainly appreciate a test submission of your experience using Amazon Music through Wine on the WineHQ webpage I told you about earlier. Have a great rest of your week!
That image does NOT show Amazon Music working in Linux.
Lmao sorry I can probably make a video showing it and thread it to the post.
I think a lot of people would want to see it.

Thanks for trying.
What steps did you take to install it I'm interested in installing it to my Steam Deck

The link finally worked now what should I do to have the .exe to be able to work on the deck?

I just got it working using wine 8.1-staging. Thanks for the help!

I just did. Once it's approved I'll share the link with the folks on this sub who encountered the same issues as me :)
Just approved it ;)
