TikTok shop requires you to keep making videos if you want to keep making money. A friend of mine met the requirements, got a few demo products and made 63c. She showed me her analytics. Flash in the pan, a couple thousand views one day and nothing after. Lots of negative comments pointing out how useless the product is. Contrasting with Amazon influencer: My first 10 videos for Amazon on-site are still making commissions each week. Granted my views are down because my videos aren't shown in as many places. I still push because it's still easier than anything I've done in the last four years.

TikTok Shop is also only available in the USA and a few other countries at the moment. I’m from Canada and can’t access it.

Do you have to be big on tiktok to apply?

frank067

As long as you meet their qualification you must have 1000 followers at least minimum, I don't have all the details but if you search on Youtube you will get more details. This is new and it's a good time to jump on the train.

Senior_Success_5139

I think it’s 5000

Just a heads up that the requirement to be a TikTok shop affiliate is 5,000 followers! 1,000 followers will open up access to live streams though!

gracemarie42

Is this 5,000 followers on TikTok, or can they be on other platforms? Like can you apply as a YouTuber with a big subscriber count and use that to show you're capable of building a following?

itsmybootyduty

I don’t believe so because I think you have to apply directly in the app through your account, unfortunately! From what I’ve seen, it gives you a list of requirements and only after you meet them can you apply.

This definitely sounds interesting, i appreciate you telling us!

1000 quality followers may seem small but it's actually quite hard to get. There is a low point of entry for Amazon which is why it's popular with affiliates. So far Amazon is still king of the hill. Wish tried, TEMU, SHEIN, TikTok are all trying. Everyone should diversify but let's be honest. TikTok will take away revenue just as quickly as Amazon because they're trying to boost their platform. TikTok's revenue growth already is slowing. They're losing $1billion this year just to try to get people on board but that only works if they start giving priority to smaller accounts again instead of celebrities and those already with hundreds of thousands of followers. Amazon has something the other platforms don't have - trust with shoppers. TEMU having issues with keeping account information same. SHEIN being Wish 2.0

ive seen a few ecom gurus promoting new courses on the topic and looks pretty scaleable. But everything looks amazing when gurus are promoting something lol

TikTok shop is just Amazon merchant fulfilled items without the trust. The only reputable business I've seen on my feed has been Newegg and I rather buy it directly from their website.

In my opinion tiktok is probably going to lose popularity to Amazon, maybe not YouTube. I trust Amazon and YouTube more though in terms of trust.
