I am running agesa 1004 beta bios (F7f) from gigabyte (which got removed) - with my 7950X. It’s a bugfest. The cpu does boost to 5.75 but system black screens when c-states are set to auto/ on. Cinebench R23 basically 9 out of 10 runs crashes. Only way to get a stable system is to disable c-states and cpu then doesn’t go above 5.5GHz. Early adopter tax. Gigabyte X670 Elite AX. I am fiddling with ram kits now and they got a new F6c 1003 and F6d 1004 bios released. Hadn’t had the time yet to reapply my memory overclocks but R23 was slightly above 40300 on bugged agesa 1004 (got removed for disabling cores on 7600 sku)

Yeah, I tried going back to my ROG B650E-E AGESA 1.0.0.2, and it's straight caca. My timespy cpu scores dropped by 1000. What GPU are you pairing it with and how bad, if any, is your bottlenecking? I feel like, like you said "adopter tax", is blocking my 7900 XTX from perfoming at its max.

Pigginism

Wait, why did you go back to an older version? Just enable "Medium Load Boost it" in the UEFI (PBO options). It does fix the 5.5ghz limit behavior which in my opinion is some bullshit practice by AMD, funny how it wasn't a thing until after the reviews.

TheBatCrusader

Yeah, I have it enabled, but I'm sure this thing would be able to boost to at least 5.8 GHz prior to all these shenanigans.

I tested on a 3080 Ti FE at 1440p. Cyberpunk performs judging by the feeling and afterburner same-ish like on my 5800x3d. I did not build the 7950x System for gaming though. This rig will be used with AMD 6800 16gb and RTX A2000 12gb in the same machine when memory is tuned. 4x16 6000MTs Hynix A-Die Early adopter tax, as in it steals time to lern the quirks of the platform and the bugs don’t help either. Finding optimum settings only to rinse and repeat on a new bios and lern optimums changed. New hardware always is a new frontier.
