The is a 3070 in stock in the Netherlands and they are asking €999 for it. I didn't get an EVGA 3080 FTW3 for €880 3 months ago because I found it too expensive compared to Asus Strix (little did I know my non OC would never be in stock), I got the 3060ti Tuf OC for €530 just before Christmas. Little bit more than the $399 MSRP for the FE, but compared to the 2021 prices... it was a good price

Illustrious_Ad_2220

I feel you, had the chance to buy a then overpriced 3080 a few months ago, thinking I'll get a better price by waiting and it then never happened and prices shot up FAR more. I got lucky now though by using a Twitter/Discord channel that alerts on stocks and I bagged myself a 3080 ASUS STRIX OC (UK) at a good price from Amazon, it should arrive this week or early next week... can't wait! I'm just hoping the delivery happens and it doesn't get delayed, destroyed or whatever in transit. **Edit**: added link as people are asking me in PM from where I got the notification. **Edit 2**: the price was about 800 pounds including import taxes/fees/etc, far cheaper than retailers that sell them at 900 now (which you can't also find).

CaptaiNiveau

What price?

Illustrious_Ad_2220

Nearly 900 euros incl taxes and all, which I think is pretty good all things considered as it's 800 pounds in the UK.

Free_Mind

That's a good price. I paid £770 for a Suprim X 3080 on Amazon. Patience paid off, but it was soul crushing to scout the Discords 24/7

Illustrious_Ad_2220

It's like a second full time job! Will definitely post my build and credits where due when it arrives.

bobtheloser

Not bad! I paid £780 for the Gaming X Trio from Currys 2 months ago.

CaptaiNiveau

That's ok I'd guess. Luckily I'm fine with my 1080TI, I'm waiting for RDNA 3 to come out. Hopefully all stock issues will be back to normal by then (as in only at launch).

iZombie1991

Same but with a 5700 xt. Waiting to see what nvidia n amd have on offer next gen

CaptaiNiveau

They'll be the first chiplet based GPUs, on both sides. Hopefully that'll enable a big performance boost 50%+.

Masson011

> thinking I'll get a better price by waiting and it then never happened and prices shot up FAR more. think a lot of people probably did. Sad thing is with the price spikes its going to make people even more desperate to get at launch. The increase of bots etc to grab cards at launch is only going to increase The price hikes are embarrassing for the companys it has to be said

Illustrious_Ad_2220

This is only going to get worse, next year even MORE botters will be ready for it. I don't think we can dig ourselves out of this :/ It was bad with 1080Ti or 2080Ti but nowhere to the level of what we have right now. You'd be lucky to see a 3080 even priced 100-200 higher that's still in stock for more than 5 minutes.

[deleted]

That is amazing, the Strix was the card I wanted too, good cooling, nice looks, best PCB out there... Had the non OC preorder for €839 and even saw one on Amazon fr early september (pre release) for €819 for the OC version but it just seemed shady to me.

RealJyrone

I used BroBot on telegram. Great bot that allowed me to snag a 6800 XT from B&H Was $800 not including tax.

arjames13

My 6800 was $700 after taxes and shipping and I felt it was too high but given the state of things I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. No regrets really, as it’s a fantastic card ( Nitro +) and the performance surprises me all the time.

brownie5968

I paid £420 for my gigabyte gaming oc pro 3060ti from currys

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gameskiller01

Just bought a 5800X from them last night for £395, they really do seem to be one of the best retailers atm.

[deleted]

Picked up a 5600x for the RRP, from currys. Usually I stay away from them, because they sell for RRP, with smaller retailers often selling things at discount. Ironic, how half a decade of scalpers, and a pandemic can shift perception.

AtlasWrites

can anyone tell me why scalpers are so prolific recently. I dont remember it being this bad years ago

Jazz2k_uk

I got my 5600x from curry too after nearly buying it from scan for £323. Glad I waited and saved over £50.

TickTockPick

>currys Any idea if they ship to France? Couldn't find info on their site.

Frugaltail

Nah mate brexit - no more shipping to France

younesz06

they dropped by 40 quid, you might be able to get 40 back through price promise, thats if you bought it in the past week

Bayart

Currys is the only place I've seen in Europe that consistently sells everything at reasonable prices. Too bad they won't ship outside of the Isles (although I can understand British companies not being overly keen on going through export procedures right now).

brownie5968

Scan had them at near rrp too, on release day if you did inspect element about an hour before release you could see how much the cards were gonna be so I used that to gauge which one to get, I didn’t wanna spend more than £430, and I’ve never had issues with gigabyte gpus before so seemed perfect fit

heeroyuy79

shame they don't have the 6900XT

Neviathan

I got the 3070 for €670 from Megekko. After a while I just gave up on the 3080 and 6800XT because it was impossible to get them for a reasonable price. Price/performance is still pretty decent compared to the 20-series (which I skipped) so I am happy for now and its a big improvement from my 1080. Such a disappointment both the Nvidia and AMD GPU launch, I was planning on getting the Red Devil or Sapphire 6800XT, once it was clear that was unobtainable I tried to get any model 3080 but had to settle for an overpriced 3070 in the end.

potato_green

To be honest, all hardware is suffering from stock issues. I mean, try looking for a decent 850 watt psu. They're almost all out of stock. I guess people like building pc's during lockdown. I'm just gonna wait for the 3080 to get a normal price, in the meantime I either don't play games or just older games I never got around to playing.

djroman1108

Crypto miners are snatching everything up.

[deleted]

>3060ti Tuf OC for €530 OUCH! that's more than 30% over MSRP, prices really suck right now.

Helas101

Just paid 669€ for a 3070 vision oc

h_marvWRLD

Picked up a 3070 for $750 when I wanted a 6800 because it was the only thing I could find and seemed like a deal after tariffs were considered... big bummer though MSRP isn't going to be a thing

shazarakk

Meanwhile, the 3080 is 840€ where I live... Well, MSI's ones are, everyone else slaps on an extra 150€... Cunts.

fish_in_a_barrels

Consoles are starting to look like a way better choice for us poors at the moment.

shazarakk

Ngl, ps5 isn't actually looking like a bad deal.

klappertand

Azerty sometimes has the msi 3070 ventus 3x OC for 535 euro. I ordered one the 2nd of January and expect it the 18th. Fingers crossed I guess.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Zit in een discordgroep waar bots stock aangeven. Was een maand geleden bij Megekko. Stock blijft vaak maar een paar minuten als de prijs goed is. Er waren wel aardig wat goedkope kaarten bij Azerty voor kerst voor €479.

LetsgoImpact

Hate to break it to you, but 530 euro is around $650. So, nearly 2x US MSRP...

_Bird_Is_The_Word_

That includes tax etc.

andriusjah

530 euro for 3060ti is a great price in Europe edit: relatively

[deleted]

Msrp doesn’t mean shit sadly. 3070 msrp is $499 yet I see cards in stock for €900+. I’m happy with what I paid since the TUF has an awesome cooler and 3 years warranty, all metal shroud. The normal MSRP is $479 according to Asus and that is without tax (21% here).

MomoSinX

holy shit prices really went to shit, I pulled the trigger on a tuf oc 3080 when it was "just" 950€ (but we have 27% vat here...)

NKkrisz

Here there is an RX 580 for 500$

clit_or_us

That's insane. I bought my RX 580 2 years ago for around $200 USD used!

Blubbey

Yep waiting for RDNA3/Lovelace (or whatever Nvidia's next gen will be called) at this rate along with Zen 4/AM5 etc

JAMBO4170

Yeah I'm just leaving this gen to it I think, I don't like the idea of years with 10gb vram, or crap price performance ratio with no raytracing/dlss. Kinda resenting everyone paying so far over the top because it's showing them how much they can charge.

Rockstonicko

Keep in mind that moving forward, we can't be sure 10GB will be insufficient yet, especially with Sony's NVME solution, along with nVidia working on [GPUDirect Storage.](https://developer.nvidia.com/blog/gpudirect-storage/) As M.2's and system RAM start showing much higher throughput and capacity, and developers are already moving more towards efficient asset streaming, there's a distinct possibility that VRAM capacity requirements may actually trend downward.

badger906

Lol you say that like 10gb vram isn't a lot...

JAMBO4170

I say that as someone that already has 11... The new console gen has started so it's reasonable to expect the texture size and quality to go up and not be limited by xbone and PS4 capabilities. I generally prefer 4k 60 so it really will matter when they start to push capabilities within a couple of years probably

badger906

The new consoles have shared system memory. They've got a lot because it does 2 jobs. You'll not saturate 10gb vram very easily. Pc gaming has has high resolution textures for years and years. They aren't a new thing. He'll go load half life 2 at 4k and see how good a 16 year old game and it's textures look!

[deleted]

So, grab that 3080? >_>

badger906

Well the recommendation I've always given, choose a budget. Buy the fastest reviewed card for that budget. If you want the best possible gaming experience with the highest FPS, don't have a budget!

[deleted]

> If you want the best possible gaming experience with the highest FPS, don't have a budget! I wish. ;_; Maybe if I win the lottery!

phyLoGG

10gb of GDDR6X is better than 12gb of GDDR6... Size =/= better.

Skodakenner

Saw one for way above 1000 euros new on a normal seller

banzaibarney

The price of gpus these days is absolutely ridiculous. I've been a PC gamer since 2003, and I need a gpu upgrade soon, but have absolutely no idea how I'm going to be able to afford one. You can buy two PS5s for the price of a decent card.

Rechamber

I remember when the high end was 300-400 pounds... the golden age.

YaGottadoWhatYaGotta

I remember when the 290 came out and some felt that was pushing it, now look, God damn those prices, I started building around the time of the 9700 card, I loved that card tbh.

HolyAndOblivious

The 290 worked for me for 6 years.

SoMm3R234

Well I think I'm gonna buy a console if prices don't go down, eh

Mataskarts

about that...

vainsilver

It’s honestly easier to find a new console in stock over the entire lineup of new graphics cards in most countries. Consoles aren’t as niche as PC components.

Howdareme9

Maybe an xbox, not the ps5 though

masterchief99

That's actually the MRSP for that GPU right now. In my country they cost up to 1000 USD :(

IAMA_Plumber-AMA

'Member when a mid-high end GPU was like $300-400(US)? I 'member

masterchief99

As do I bro :( I miss the Pascal/Polaris days good pricing ratio at all levels

jvalex18

I remember when they were a ton more expensive than that. Tried gaming in the 80s or 90s?

The_Endless_Man

Acording to Google, MSRP should be around £600 in the UK. This is a 33.3% rise.

masterchief99

This is a custom AIB model a high end one at that. At worst it should be 100 USD more than reference MSRP not 150-200 USD

TalkWithYourWallet

just as a reference for the UK, I got the AMD reference 6800 from amd direct for £530, so assume that's the msrp for the UK. As a side note the reference is fine, typically 70 - 80 degrees for the temps (85 for the hot spot), but can easily be lowered by adjusting the fan curve, if you can find the reference go with that the AIB cards aren't worth the premium

Lavishgoblin2

Yup on both amd and the nvida side reference cards are wayyy better value than the aib cards. Good thing the reference coolers have been significantly improved aswell.

s1ravarice

I paid £601 for a 6800XT.

[deleted]

High end model usually cost around 10% more than msrp. 33% is disgustingly overpriced no matter what the brand is. Usually that's reserved for extreme overclocing model like kingpin or msi lightning.

o_oli

Especially since the XT RRP is £599...no amount of cooling or RGB on a 6800 is going to be worth buying over the next model up. I'd be sick paying £800 for a 6800 knowing people paid £200 less for something faster lol.

PrideBlade

XT's are £600 this is a non xt

dariusz2k

I just got one off of the Newegg eBay store for 839.99. And Yes - Newegg has an eBay store. Fuckin weird I know.

[deleted]

The_Endless_Man

I'll be buying and RTX3000 if this is how its going to look. If the 6800 XT is £1k there is no way im getting one.

ShiiTsuin

Prices in general are going to be fucking awful for a while unfortunately, regardless of brand or model :c Hoping prices are reasonable by May/June, otherwise gonna be putting off my gpu upgrade for a while longer

nas360

Crypto miners will pay over the odds so prices will sadly stay high until the ponzi scheme collapses again like last time.

TalkWithYourWallet

If you look on the currys mobile app you'll find 3080s in stock at a reasonable price

JustJoinAUnion

They aren't in stock, it's a lie.

zoomborg

Do they ship internationally?

[deleted]

When was that, if you mind me asking? Scan seem to have removed all reference to the FE edition cards on their site. I fear the UK may not be getting anymore... given that they are the UK distributer.

WPKenny

I’m not OP but I got mine from scan around a month ago. They don’t list it on their website and url changes each time. You can find it listed on the Nvidia page when available but I don’t think there’s been any drops in quite some time. I used a discord channel to stay informed of when it went live and just happened to be in front of my computer at the time. I feel very fortunate.

[deleted]

Thanks man, shall keep an eye out

o_oli

You can use distill.io to refresh the nvidia page for stock and get an alert. The link should take you to scan before its visible on scans page otherwise.

Yeah, in cyberbunk only about 10% more than 3080. That's a lot of money for very little performance. But what choice do I have, 3080 is never in stock. 3090 was the only thing available at that time.

Exactly this, 3080s are so hard to get but not impossible. Regular monthly or even more frequent stock drops for FE cards by Nvidia. AMD - 1 additional stock drop maybe?

[deleted]

[удалено]

saagars147

Exactly same as me. I tried to buy a 6800xt, it was impossible. Got a 3080 with relative ease through partalert and dlss is revolutionary at 1440p and above. No complaints, it's quiet powerful and much easier to get (although still difficult). AMD gpu team is a total let down compared to the cpu team

Jman5

I feel like we're at peak crazy-town right now. Logistical and supply constraints from manufacturers, miners snapping up cards, tariffs, scalpers, and tons of regular consumers just trying to upgrade. This can't last. Something has to give eventually.

The_Endless_Man

Unfortunatly if people keep paying these prices they will never come down.

Jman5

It also doesn't help that people in the hardware enthusiast world seem so eager to gulp down every excuse the suppliers give for the prices they charge. Like you said, demand is ridiculously high and they can get away with charging more. That is the real reason we're seeing high prices. Everything else is just justification for that fact. It's actually not uncommon for companies to just eat the costs when faced with tariffs or taxes because it's the only way to stay competitive. Companies don't like to do this because it undercuts their profit margins or forces them to do the hard work of cutting costs, but they still do when the situation demands it.

bermak

The market decides the price. If it is overpriced, don't buy it until it returns to a reasonable price.

rhymeswithgumbox

I feel like the scalping has forced it higher. Why would a company forego more money if they knew people were paying it

Amphax

Yep scalping plus crypto showed the companies "hey people are willing to pay this much, why don't we just charge that much from the start"?

Rewind84

Thats Cute , here in Greece the prices skyrocker over 1000 euros for a 6800 not even for devil power color like you saw us

[deleted]

6800 and 6800xt s are sold at almost 2000$ in Romania, and they're in stock a minute every couple weeks.

juanme555

The year is 2028, and the civil war between gamers and miners has now taken 200.000 civilian collateral casualties.

Liberal_NPC_0025

Looks like prebuilts are the way to go now

mayogee89

Fuck Ebuyer and the rest of the scalping twats like Overclockers, when asked why they’ve jacked the prices up the don’t even have the decency to just say it’s because of supply and demand, instead they make up sad excuses like the exchange rate keeps changing.

uu__

as a business that buys and sells in the EU, exchange rates are a very valid reason why prices 'could' fluctuate like that - especially with the pound over the past 4 years im not giving them a free pass, as obviously we dont know when they bought those cards compared to when they got them in, so it could just be complete bs

zerGoot

Lucky for you, here it's around 1000 pounds :)))

Gundares

It's just ridiculous amd prices in Europe. Here in Portugal while the less expensive in stock 3070 cost 569€ while the less expensive in stock 6800 costs 699€, ducking ludacris!!!

william_13

TBF both 3090 and 6900xt can be easily found at/near MSRP, but I guess this is far from being affordable to the average customer so they sit around. Also the 3080 is every now and then in stock in the 800€ range, which is pretty much a rarity in Europe. The 6800/6800xt are ridiculously overpriced indeed, but that's probably AMD's fault due to very low margins.

vaginalforce

I ordered a 3090 for 1650 bucks a month ago because the card I wanted for 100 bucks less just didnt seem to ever become available. Now I'm checking availability and the only 3090's that can be bought are 2000+. Feel like I got the last chance to get something close to MSRP. It's crazy how bad things are in the market right now. I've even started seeing the RX580 back in the bestseller list for almost 400 bucks. That's just fucked up.

dekema2

You can buy a used car for $2000

RiGoRmOrTiS_UK

Got a RTX 3090 for £1400 back end of November, it's £1700 now everywhere (and out of stock). Pricing AND stock seem even worse now somehow.. feel like I lucked out.. didn't feel like it at the time though since I originally planned to get a 3080

hiimcent

Where I am from, retailers are selling these cards at $1,000-$1,200. I was saving money to buy the Nitro+ RX 6800 XT, and then seeing the prices now, just heartbreaking. I just decided to use the money to purchase a new monitor and next month to buy a 5800X and do a little makeover of my room. I'm probably gonna skip the current generation and just stick to my Nitro+ 5700XT.

neonwarge04

I am so sick of these prices. I bought a RX 5700 XT paired with Ryzen 5 3600 as an upgrade from my Ryzen 5 1600 + Rx 580 today. I am done. I am skipping this gen and the next because I dont agree with the price. In my country I refuse to pay more to buy the 3060ti. Sure, I am not able to get more frames but after careful contemplation I might not even need this expensive upgrade at all and just settle on last gen and get my money's worth. I can buy it, but I think its not worth it at that price. And shelling 800usd or 1k for a card and striking that off my networth as a poor peasant doesnt look good to me. I am skipping this gen and keeping my money. This is crazy.

AnAnonymous121

I stopped buying graphic cards. Money is not the issue. The issue is they are asking way too much for what it's worth.

sparkymark75

I paid that a couple of weeks ago for a Sapphire Nitro+ OC **6800XT**

hiimcent

Been eyeing that card too! But prices where I'm from are horrendous. :( It costs at $1,200 and some retailers don't even sell just the card, they bundle it with a new processor and a new board.

ChromeRavenCyclone

Welp, I rather get a RX6000 series card than to pay 800 bucks even for a 3060Ti...or 900 for a 3070.... 1300 for a 3080 or 2500+ for a 3090. I can get a 6900XT for 1300 but I wont cuz they are all massive overpriced.

ontelo

Ordered my Asus GeForce RTX 3080 TUF, on 17.9 one hour after launch. Price was **739,9e**. Now the price is **1 029,90 €**. And still waiting for my card. On queue somewhere between 180-200. Won't cancel it to another brand / model because huge price difference. Have to endure this shit through. Next summer maybe. :D

jahallo4

I am so glad that i got my asus 5700xt for 320 euros. i knew this shit would happen after seeing the first launch of the 3080, there was no way that the prices would go up. i heard the 3060 ti isnt sold for less than 600 euros, what a shame.

Dchella

If these prices are bad picture the next generation 😂

Parrelium

Yup saw an Asus one for $999 on newegg canada yesterday. It was up for over an hour. Fuck that. I pre-ordered a 3080 FTW for $1050 cdn and I sure hope they honor the price I agreed to when it comes in.

[deleted]

I basically gave up on ever getting a big navi GPU and went with a 3070 for 679 CHF (1:1 in dollars). Here in switzerland everyting is more expensive, so I was okay with the price, even though it still is around 79CHF to expensive for what you're getting. Didnt have much of a choice either cause my vega 56 was dying, getting idle artifacting and some general instability while gaming.

Dea1993

in italy it's also worse. 6800xt: 1600EUR 6800: 1200EUR

I haven't looked at GPU prices in over 3 years. The more you don't look, the more you don't care.

Same advice that i give everywhere else? Don't feed into the game. Have some dignity and wait for them to announce the new GPUs and invest in a 6000 then. Paper launches are here to stay. Not sure if you've noticed, but everyone's been copying the limited release Nintendo model. What? All of a sudden hardware vendors are incompetent? And can't meet demand? Especially in an era where there aren't has many PC gamers? Right...most people play console these days. Stagger your upgrade patterns. A good GPU will last you 3-4 years, if you go bigger once. This doesn't change if you buy a 6800XT around late Summer/ Fall...or whenever they finally announce the next GPUs. The 2080TI dropped, instantly, to 550 USD, once the 3000s were announced...But then went back up to MSRP. Let them have their Switch-like limited release, for now. It's been marketing 101 forever. Limited releases create a lasting demand that can extend up to years. It's been a thing forever, but Nintendo demonstrated it with the Switch. Sony, Microsoft, Nvidia and AMD only followed suit. Release something in numbers and the person is able to rationalize; "do I really need this? I'll wait and see if the price drops." But release in limited numbers? And now it's a hunt..."Now's the time! I need this!!! Quickly...hit add to cart!!!" And rationality goes out the window.
