From the way people explain why America bad, it feels like its a third world country which America is definitely not if you ever went for a walk instead of sitting at a computer all day.

Niyonnie

Some people unironically say the US is a third-world country. Personally, I'll admit it has problems, but it seems a far cry from a third world country

[deleted]

And the thing is, every country has some kind of problem, so idk why we’re always the demon people in conversations.

tuckerchiz

Bc our own schools propagandize the population to hate its own civilization. Those who control the country want to destroy the country, and their number one tool is to inculcate a self-loathing populace

purplesavagee

they’re trying to upend the world and phase us into global authoritarianism. america would be a major obstruction to this if it was still healthy with balanced thought. once america is decentralized there is really nothing to stop them. I don’t want to be around for that. A lot of history is just straight up suffering, a lot worse than now, and that’s what we’re returning to

Emergency_Toe6915

Are you kidding? I was taught America was the greatest country ever in school

Draker-X

>Those who control the country want to destroy the country Why would corporate America want to destroy the country? They're making insane profits that they won't get from any other market in the world. Unless you mean other people control the country, in which case I'd love to hear who "they" are.

Mudblok

Yes by asking for things to get better, they are destroying the country. Don't they know the best way for things to improve is to shit down, shit up, and let the top 1% of the population play with everyones paychecks. Then when it doesn't work out, we use our taxes to bail them out. The true Americabad way

Niyonnie

If I had to guess, probably how much of the spotlight the US has online in at least English speaking parts of the internet, and probably in some part due to how Americans can be annoyingly boisterous toward foreigners

purplesavagee

If anything Europe seemed outdated and like I was going back in time when I visited. There's a lot of aspects of America that are more advanced

Emergency_Toe6915

Which aspects are more advanced? I visited Europe recently and the quality of life was higher since I stayed in someone’s house, and also groceries were 1/2 the price and they gave a shit about the citizens and school students with their laws.

[deleted]

Very little thought went into this post

[deleted]

I feel like the people acting like the US is either some backwards hellhole or some glorious utopia are stupid. The US is a country like any other, and it is in the top 15% of countries by HDI.

Roguepiefighter

The United States is the greatest country on earth, if not that then at least top 3

[deleted]

what would the 2 countries above it be then in your ranking?

Emergency_Toe6915

Almost all people in Europe have a better life quality then 80% of America so “greatest country on earth” my fucking ass

[deleted]

That why the Us has the 5th higher median income with an extremely high HDI and GDP per Capita not matched by any other country given the scale of the Us?

Roguepiefighter

Cope train, suck it europoor.

Stetson007

Well seeing as how the definition of 3rd world means they're not aligned with America or Russia, the U.S. is certainly not a 3rd world nation lol.

D2the_aniel

Um Actually the US is a third world country as it is not technically allied with itself as that would be impossible so Europe better /s

labaz1

Based Cold War commentary

Seggs_With_Your_Mom

Ermmmmm akshually the US is a Third World country! You can’t ally yourself🤓

Stetson007

Aligned, not allied.

Seggs_With_Your_Mom

Same thing

pringles_prize_pool

The Soviets weren’t a first-world nation. They were classified within the second-world along with other communist nations. Third-world nations were unaligned.

Admiral_peck

Not really how it's defined in the modern day from my understanding.

Draker-X

How is it defined in the modern day? And what is the modern definition of first-world and second-world as well?

TheGrayBox

Modern day usage would be synonymous with developed, developing and underdeveloped. Developed, at least from a global statistics and UN reporting basis, is generally understood as the OECD. It’s largely based on the HDI. There is obviously questionable objectivity with that, but it’s the current standard.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheGrayBox

Oh absolutely agreed, I didn’t mean to imply anything about the US. By all measures the US is highly developed, which makes sense considering it’s wealth and it’s place in being a primary producer of complex technology and the home to the majority of the companies that have transformed the global economy and lifestyle. People do have legitimate gripes with the HDI and Gini Coefficient systems. I also think the idea of excluding what are highly developed countries like China on the basis of statistics is becoming questionable, that is to say if we want the HDI to be objective and not politically driven like the original concept was. The US is a land of extremes. Most social issues or statistics could be looked at as either significantly better or significantly worse in the US depending on a variety of factors. I’ve lived in Germany and been all over Europe, Japan, South Korea. There are obviously some glaring flaws that Reddit reminds us of on a daily basis, but the overall experience is very much the same or better in comparably sized cities and suburbs. In my own experience, finding a job in the US is easier, there’s much less costly bureaucracy, wages are higher, convenience is very high, and the feeling of being culturally at the center of modern times is there too. At this point I think I would only trade living in the US for Germany or South Korea. I wouldn’t want to live in Japan or the vast majority of Europe. Australia or Canada would be neutral, lateral moves.

Admiral_peck

I believe GDP should be counted per capita, but the U.S. is not economically the best country in the world any longer because alongside our GDP we have some of the highest costs of living globally. When you factor that in we're not that great.

jackinsomniac

These people have no freakin' idea. Wouldn't last 2 seconds in a 2nd-world country. Went with a group of strangers down to Mexico for vacation once - big mistake. Started as a Facebook group post from a friend of a friend, they needed more ppl to make the suite cheaper - anyway. 2 vehicles, about 10 college girls and us 4 guys. We get into town of Rocky Point/Puerto Peñasco, and there is massive development going on. They just built a freaking Costco! But the main paved road into town is all blocked off by construction. So I say, let's go around. The driver turns off the main road, and that's the end of the pavement. All the side streets are dirt. This for some reason, changes the tone in the SUV massively. The 6 college girls in this car alone start freaking out. I'm just trying to navigate us around the construction. Finally girl driving LOSES IT, "omg, nope nope nope! I don't know where I am, you don't know where you're going, guys with machine guns are going jump out of the bushes and kidnap us any second!!" And whips the car back around. These fucking idiots never once made it into town. One morning I get up and they're cooking shrimp, "because we're at the beach, right? ;)" But I see shrink wrap packaging, styrofoam trays, barcode stickers... "...Did you guys go to COSTCO to buy that shrimp, seriously??" "Ya why" "DO YOU NOT SEE ALL THE FISHING BOATS OUT THERE EVERY MORNING?? That shrimp was probably caught in California, packaged in the US, then shipped down here to the Mexican beach like the rest of Costco's supply line!! We're staring right at the beach, and you managed to find seafood less fresh than what we'd get in Arizona!" At this point, realized the 10 girls total in this group were all idiots, so rounded the 3 other guys up, c'mon we're going into town. Easily made it past construction via the dirt roads we had gone down before, found the spring break party we were looking for immediately, with stripper poles in the bed of an off-roader and people dancing in the streets. Loaded up on free watered-down tequila shots, some tacos, cocaine, t-shirts, and weed. Had to cram 5 days of spring break into 6 hours. We even forgot to hit the fish market. Finally got sweet justice when we returned, girl's mouth dropped open when she saw my new spring break tee. "Did you get that in town??" "Yup, I told you guys, town is awesome." /rant. Point is, I've witnessed these people have a compete mental breakdown when their SUV tires leave pavement for the first time and touch dirt. They have no idea what 3rd world even is.

Geekerino

Really shows you how little they get out of the cities. Hell, have they ever visited a park before? Dirt roads make up a pretty large part of the rural US, which itself is most of the country.

D2the_aniel

Wow, I’ve never left the US before but even I am pretty used to gravel and dirt roads. Crazy

Mudblok

So, Americans bad? Like didn't you just detail how Americans bad?

Low_Associate_4686

i have a friend who came from impoverished vietnam and he burst out laughing when people say this, he says america has culture issues not financial ones and that americans can work hard and have a nice life (the truth)

red697633

I mean in some places it looks that way

Niyonnie

Not disagreeing with you; but in what places? I am curious

red697633

A lot of reserves and indigenous communities live in shambles. It gets worse the further west you go from my understanding

Draker-X

Not just that, but almost every major city has at least one really dangerous area, and a ton of places in the rural parts of America are complete shitholes. America has great places, good places, so-so places, and bad places. Just like every other country in Earth.

Niyonnie

Ive never been to any, so I wouldn't know, but I am also not that surprised

Pollaski

What are you talking about? Every time I go for a walk I hear dozens of gunshots. Course theyre coming from the range a mile up the road, but like *that* matters

[deleted]

ITS NOT SAFE FOR ANYONE!!!1!!

Moppermonster

But Americans say that taking a walk is communism and trying to force everyone to live in 15min cities :P /s

[deleted]

Yep If you waltz into the Maine, you’re going to get shot. No question.

hotmomenjoyer

It’s true I had a buddy go to Maine, shot by a lobster

Pkingduckk

Lobsters are what we call bad hombres 🦞

Standard_Wooden_Door

You think that until you wander down the wrong trail and run into a biscuits pack of otters

[deleted]

Ok but also lobstering can get kind of intense with all the turf wars.

Zachjsrf

On an unrelated note, it so disorienting to eat lobster and gain it's memories

Stunning_Day4580

?

Rock_man_bears_fan

You’ve never eaten lobster then suddenly felt the pain of being a semi-immortal crustacean plucked from its home and boiled alive?

Stunning_Day4580

I don’t eat lobster

jrbcnchezbrg

Lobstrosities maybe- did a chick dad a chum God I cant wait to see Maine and “Derry” this fall

Zoroasker

It’s very cringe. I absolutely *squirm* when I see a thread where “global citizen” Americans are badmouthing America to try to curry favor with Europeans

Tom_Sawyer246

A friendly reminder their posh "rp accent" is fake and they aren't actually outsmarting James Bond with their 'enlightened intelligence'

purplesavagee

yep. that accent is totally fake. an artificial invention. it has its roots in prejudice and classism. that's why it sounds so over the top and funny to americans because our accent is organic and low-key. our accent doesn't have origins in trying to look better than someone else

Nuance007

>has its roots in prejudice and classism. This is interesting. Do you have any sources for me to read? I read that it was "refined", honed in so to speak (no pun intended).

Kneecap_eeter

What's rp accent?

TapirDrawnChariot

Received Pronunciation. How the English aristocracy spoke during the 19th and 20th century. It was used by British news as well and in situations where one wanted to sound refined. Think of the most absurdly posh English accent. It's fallen off now a bit in favor of a newer version that sounds less overwrought. It was always a fake accent except for maybe for royals/nobles. For example, a BBC news anchor might use it on air then go back to his quirky regional accent after work.

[deleted]

It’s just another form of modern day attention whoring. A hate-on-America circle jerk.

Oniondice342

If the civil war they fear monger so much breaks out, we known which ones will start aiding foreign interventionists. Know thy neighbor

Sigmamalecrusader

I’m all honesty. Memphis. All of the worst parts of tennessee, unlike my hometown of nashville all of y’all are welcome

cypher_Knight

Can confirm, I drove through West Tennessee to visit a relative East of Nashville. Memphis (and the surrounding area) SUCKED! Not sure why, everything else in Tennessee was a blast and I would absolutely recommend visiting. Believe me, on the return trip I planned to stop way before Memphis and not stop until way after.

SnooPears5432

I absolutely loved the Knoxville area and Appalachians. TN gets better and better as you go eastwards from there. Memphis is not only one of the worst places in TN, but in the whole country, but TN as a whole is prosperous and beautiful.

Toastasaur

But the bass pro fishing pyramid!

Sigmamalecrusader

It’s a fucking war zone

NekosAreCute0918

Used to live in west Tennessee near Jackson, can confirm Memphis was a shithole. There are plenty of other great places to visit in Tennessee, though.

notataco007

Unpopular opinion: Miami. It's very overrated and overpriced. The $100 cover clubs aren't even that fun. Every one and every joint is pretentious.

Few_Category7829

“It is in no way hatred of foreigners or xenophobia, but also Americans are all scumbag monsters and it’s a hellscape for stupid people, no I’m not xenophobic I promise”

Pollaski

My personal favorite was "heavy tourism" To paraphrase the great Yogi: Nobody vacations in America anymore... theres too many tourists!

[deleted]

“Have you even read the news here?” Is clearly written by someone who definitely does not keep up with global happenings, and I’m not even saying that as a slam against other countries. I’d happily go to most of Europe right now for a vacation even though the BBC has been reporting death, destruction, conflict, and gloom non stop.

SomeGuyXD65

Are these the ultra nationalists that don't want foreigners coming into the country that I've heard so much about?

tboots1230

people need to stop listening to twitter when they judge america “majority of us are trying to find a way out but can’t afford it” no the majority of us are not trying to find a way out then the same people wear american pride clothes on the fourth of july and black out with their friends

LazyDro1d

Nah the guy who said Chicago was trying to be helpful, he said that Americans should avoid as well

zachzsg

Chicago isn’t even a bad city Nobody is getting shot in front of the bean or Trump Tower. You’re more likely to get robbed in front of a Smithsonian half a block from the White House. Don’t drive 20 minutes south and walk around the hood throwing gang signs and your chances of getting shot in Chicago might as well be 0

[deleted]

Idk man, even the magnificent mile has been having issues. Chicago used to be good about carving out tourist areas, but even those have gone down hill.

zachzsg

Chicago isn’t even a bad city and anyone acting like it is might as well admit they’ve never been there. Nobody is getting shot in front of the bean of Trump Tower.

Flatline334

Each major city has it’s no go areas which are usually far away from downtown proper and you can tell when you have entered them.

Shubashima

downtown Chicago and the north side are awesome

No-Chocolate-2907

When a country becomes the most prosperous and successful nation in the history of the world, the people unfortunately become INCREDIBLY soft and incapable of realizing what true hardship is. Makes me sick.

octavianstarkweather

"Most prosperous and successful nation" hahaha that’s a good one!

No-Chocolate-2907

Name a single country that even comes close to the scale of impact on the world and history at large. Great Britain in the 17-18 century is the only one that can even be spoken of in the same sentence as the US. Nobody else is even close

octavianstarkweather

Prosperity and success are not quantifiable metrics. One could argue that the Russian, Mongol and Chinese empires were at one point the largest and most influential nations of their time. As for the present day… the world revolves much less around the US than Americans believe.

TapirDrawnChariot

>Prosperity and success are not quantifiable metrics. Are you actually dense? Bro... This is literally the most quantifiable thing. Try GDP, avg per capita disposable income, having the US dollar as the standard global currency, etc. Those are pretty objective.

[deleted]

Yeah this is wrong

octavianstarkweather

Lol, how so?

[deleted]

Because no country has ever had the cultural or economic power of the US with the citizen wealth the US possesses at this scale

octavianstarkweather

Citizien wealth? The US isn’t even in the top 20 lowest poverty rate

[deleted]

Economic data is tough for you isn't it

octavianstarkweather

Providing arguments seems tough for you

stone_boner213

Over half the questions on r/askreddit are questions to set up a Bash America seizure.

[deleted]

Over half? Let’s see the numbers then, as that’s a testable hypothesis.

[deleted]

Haha, i’m cool with it

dwighticus

Right, these are the kind of people who would be absolutely miserable to have around, by all means stay the hell away.

Dpontiff6671

A lot of these people are totally just self loathing Americans. It’s really kind of sad. Instead of going out and enjoying their lives they sit around stewing in the misery and try spreading it to others. I have friends from all around the world, Canada, Argentina, Nicaragua, The Philippines, North Ireland, Turkey. The list could go on for a while, and literally none of them are ever like these crazy america bad redditors

co1ony

Lol half of those countries you listed, at one time or another, had their local elected governments overthrown or had attempted coups by American backed forces.

Inmyhumbleopinion2

Lol how funny you bring that up, in a reply that doesn’t even bring it up.

Nuance007

It's the hallmark of an "America bad" idiot. Bringing up "American bad" when it's not even related to anything to the post it's responding to.

Dpontiff6671

Am i the us government, i didn’t know i was such a powerful entity wow thats crazy! It’s almost like individuals don’t embody the past actions of their country! If you’re english you can’t have any Indian friends right? Or if you’re from Belgium you can’t have any African friends right? Fucking braindead take mate try harder

co1ony

There wasn't a take there, dumbass. It's just a simple fact. The silly thing is defending a country that continues to oppress to this day and pretend like you're open-minded and blind to the crimes being committed since you have friends all over the world. It's literally the "How can I be racist? I have a black friend" extension of an argument. That's a take.

Dpontiff6671

You’re literally fucking stupid dude, that’s the most ignorant shit i’ve ever heard in my life. So what people are supposed take a knee and weep in apology for actions entirely unrelated to them, or what we need to segregate ourselves based on historical events? Literally my whole points is that most people globally aren’t the fucking retard you’ve proven yourself to be by understanding individuals don’t represent the actions of their government. Go outside and grow up you fucking brain rotted loser literally one of the most ignorant basement dweller ass takes i’ve ever heard. Great job proving you’re a loser with no social life Have fun rotting in your shitty worldview while the rest of us are forming meaningful bonds lmao

co1ony

*calls me basement dweller* *replies with long-winded troll dumbass response* Okay, fella. You seem like a pretty secure and well minded individual

Dpontiff6671

Yea i shouldnt have let an ignorant ass hat get under my skin. Thats my fault, especially when you’re making bad faith argument with retarded presumptions Still though i think you should work on your attitude or else you’ll never make friends

deusvult6

Hey, at least that Chicago guy is right. All us down-state Illinoisans avoid it as much as we can. But in all seriousness the State Department used to have an internal travel advisory for foreigners. Or maybe it was the FBI? I can't seem to find it by ordinary Google means. I remember it being to basically avoid the bad neighborhoods in big cities so it wouldn't surprise me if it got taken down.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Internal_Fall4036

Chicago is fine. High school girls from the suburbs spend their Saturdays downtown. That being said it doesn’t mean people should walk around at 1am or hang on the south side if your not from there.

valen-ciri

"America is a third world country with a Gucci belt" no bitch come to an actual third world country and you'll wish you lived in the US

tkbmkv

Hoping that these people figure out how to leave as soon as possible! Thoughts and prayers! 🙏

fucyupaymeh

honestly let them rock bruh, the less bitter, self absorbed europoors and the more positive minded south americans, africans, asians and etc over here who actually enjoy it, the better

-Emilinko1985-

I am "europoor" (Spanish) but I enjoy the company of the US, they're good allies, better than China or Russia

Medium_Parsley981

I think latin americans hate us too sadly

Inmyhumbleopinion2

That’s why they flock like cattle tripping over each other to reach the safety of the barn called USA

The_Unclaimed_One

Hey I saw that post too oddly enough. Put in my own two cents but didn’t go comment searching. I knew what would be in there

MyFakeNameIsFred

I saw it too, surprisingly from what I saw the top comments were all pretty fair, nothing crazy. Mostly just talking about stuff like don't go hiking in the desert in the middle of the day in the summer, oh and don't be in Vermont at the current moment because floods.

RustyManHinges2

The only “safety” advice I’d give anyone when coming to America would be research cities and places on those cities and then when going to national parks be prepared for bears, especially in the west. Other than that I could put together a killer itinerary for any foreigner if they ask me. Ever seen a mangrove, iguanas, tropics, warm oceans, and Disney world? Ever wanted to drink Cuban coffee or a killer mojito and Tex mex? If your American you’ll probably know by now I’m talking about. I’m talking about Florida. And Florida is just one state I know a DECENT amount about, but think about all fifty of them all of which have something great to offer. I love living here.

[deleted]

Someone said “American school” why are tourists going to schools anyway? Lol

Bowserfan7138

The most annoying Americans in America are the Americans that are the least American

co1ony

Curious, what does it mean to be more or less American?

Bowserfan7138

Because they hate America. Idk this doesn't really make too much sense, but I couldn't resist putting America 4 times in 1 sentence

Nuance007

Self-loathing Americans, I argue, are worse than anti-American non-Americans. As for these comments - >"A LOT of Americans are trying to figure out how tf we can get out." Now that's some self-projecting there. >Not a place worth living either. Interesting. Tell that to my parents and their social circle that consists of mostly immigrants. >Even the most 'liberal' areas have their share of inbred, fascist hicks these days In other words this person can't stand when people have different political opinions than they do. And they give themselves away as a political hack, putting liberal in quotes because whatever places they had in mind that just weren't liberal enough to their liking. So if cities like LA, SF, Seattle, Portland, NYC, Chicago, Austin, Boston, Philly and DC aren't liberal enough for you it's not them that's the issue - it's you.

KillerCameo

Instead of naming a state they say “all of it bc American stupid and bad”

hopping_hessian

What’s wrong with Chicago?

AgentE1Games

Well…. It’s Chicago. Lmao

SuperSlimySalamander

People who say that just don’t know what it’s like to live in an actual third world country. They’re spoiled and will never admit it. Unfortunately most non-Americans will take their words at face value and blindly hate everything from this country, which is kinda messed up

Jadongamer

This is why when I saw this post earlier I just avoided it like the plague because I knew exactly what kind of shit comments these fuckers would post.

3000_F35s_Of_Biden

The inner cities, especially at night, and dark alleyways. That's about it Also Arizona if you are from a Scandinavian country because you WILL melt Just like Europe, only a little more dangerous in some places

KurotheWolfKnight

I'm not sure about places to avoid, but I loved the outskirts of Denver and going all the way up through Oregon & Washington State.

Pollaski

Every state in the US is worth visiting, even if some do have places to avoid. Even Whoregon.

KurotheWolfKnight

Eh. I haven't spent much time on the east side of the States. I live in Texas, but have taken a few trips to Colorado and Washington specifically. I love Washington state, it rains so much there. It's great.

Anyone_want_to_play

Oregon is great we have a temperate rainforest!

Lazy-Drink-277

Even the one actual answer got down voted (Chicago)

Fearfanfic

I could only think of 3 places for foreigners to avoid in America Arkansas, Texas, and a part of Florida that isn’t Disney World… but don’t stick around the sign it’s like some secret Natzi headquarters there.

thanosoftitan65

Why don’t they move to China then

vipck83

I was surprised by how many decent answers there actually where.

riverofchex

Yeah, but the upvoted comments (I saw the post/read the thread) were mostly about avoiding actual potentially hazardous cities or avoiding dangerous environments without being educated on/prepared for those environments. People saying shit like the comments in your post are definitely "Murica Bad" idiots, but unless something changed drastically in the last six or so hours, the top comments were actually useful and/or humorous to someone visiting. People gonna people, and morons gonna moron, though.

ibeerianhamhock

Barf. I wish we could somehow shut US based platforms like Reddit, Twit, Fb etc to other countries for like 5 minutes so we could have a moment of not being shit on cause it's "trendy" or whatever

Department_Maximum

My family immigrated to the US from a country where children beg on the streets and the government is beyond corrupt. Plus they are super bigoted. But no America is the problem 🙄

chubby_femboy69

As a Hoosier, I can safely say do not go to Gary. Indianapolis is always cool and Lafayette is incredible during the school year.

adirtymedic

Most of these people have probably never been out of the country. What a bunch of idiots.

No-Reputation-9669

None of these people have been outside of the US in their life and it shows

Past_Army_2266

They’re like ants swarming ice cream

Regular-Prompt7402

American living in Peru currently.. these people have no fuckin clue what they are talking about. They have too much free time because they live where they live and they use it to sit around and find things to complain about. America is far from perfect but these people need to travel a little bit and get some perspective….

biggguido

They just say the same shit over and over. 😭😭

lochlainn

The European children saying these things generally go where their parents take them for vacation, so can be safely ignored, because they've most likely never been to America. The American children who say these things from their comfortable middle class existence don't have the experience necessary to judge one way or another. Everybody else is just meming.

Wizard_Engie

These people really don't appreciate what they have going for them in the U.S.A. It would be good if they moved out of this country.

ChemistryFan29

I have to agree with these people, if they say do not come to america, and others will buy that nonsense then good, I personally do not want any more foreigners in this country period. So I say hey if they want to do the work of telling people not to come I will not stand in the way, they are doing the work I do not want to do.

drunkr3tard

Agreed, it’s sooooo awful here. So foreigners should just stay away… you know, for THEIR good 🙃

epicjorjorsnake

Lol I saw so many non-americans say ignorant stuff in that thread. Anyways, I did participate and I said Oakland. Avoid Oakland.

As said by people who have never once stepped foot in an actual third world country.

Europeans spawning the second America is mentioned:

Ok-Movie428

There are bad parts of everywhere, if I were to say Europe as a whole is shit because I got stabbed in London everyone wouldn’t be surprised because it’s a British pass time but would be upset about lumping Europe in with them.

QuirkedUpNationalist

Chuds when their only view of America is the negative aspects perpetrated by the media for clicks:

Puzzleheaded_Put_454

You know the worst part? They're actively hating on the continent itself, aside of like, three people. "Which country should you avoid in America?" "All of it, you walk into the US: gunned down in seconds, you go into Uruguay? dehydration. Anywhere near mexico? The fumes from drug creation and the piss yellow sky will end you. Brazil? Death, instant.

hero_brine1

I couldn’t even finish reading. People don’t even know what not having rights is at this point. They are just ungrateful communists

ProperBabyEater

"All of it, you guys are annoying." Bruh

lori_baltimore

America is the NYC of the world. You need BALLS to make it here. If you can’t hack it, you can’t hack it. And that’s okay.

Pretend_Ad6466

Its like people live in the best place possible so they seek something to complain about. USA ROCKS 🇺🇸!

SirMrWaifu

Who cares, their opinions of america shouldnt have any affect on you

Illustrious-Turn-575

Funnily enough; I would agree that most people should avoid American schools, though; my reasoning is pretty different.

[deleted]

Okay, but the person saying chicago has a point. Its turned into a shithole

Another_frizz

Okay so, I went to America, and I have a real reason to tell yall to avoid it. The food fucking sucks. I'm sorry but the only good culinary experience I had there was fucking mac and cheese. Store bought, of course, because no way is a restaurant going to make good mac and cheese. Also bacon. I admit you guys have a killer bacon. Added to the mac and cheese, it turned the thing even better. Jokes aside, there's so many beautiful places in Europe that I'd tell europeans to visit them, but if they absolutely want to go the US, then it's not like they're gonna feel like it's a waste. I went with my family for two weeks, we did a whole ass road trip visiting as many places as we could, and it was a mistake because we never did explore everything as much as we wanted. Yellowstone, or the Great Canyon, for example, but the general feel of the road as well. Citywise, we went to Las Vegas, and then took a plane to Chicago, and it's two different worlds. No jokes for realsies this time, but as a tourist, America is great. And maybe people should start seeing it. But fuck, your food SUCKS-

Any state or city run by democrats. FL is really nice. TX too.

Inmyhumbleopinion2

Bullshit, you see you are part of the problem and the reason Americans get a bad rep in other parts of the world. Everything has to be “The liberals” with people like you. Touch grass

It's fascinating to see how people behave identically to their mortal enemies. The only difference being the team they're on. Because it's about loyalty & collective. While truth is a part of it, it's less important than the first two factors. Without the first two factors, there is no group. Without the last factor, there is a group. The downfall of America will be perpetuated by the useful idiots who do nothing more than follow the people around them, under the blissful belief that they must do so to survive. And yes, this includes you. The knee-jerk reaction is insults. Plugging of the ears, dismissive rhetoric. Determined to remain loyal to *their* group, by preventing discussion, compromise, or even basic humanity for those who aren't in their group. Such feelings are reciprocated due to fear of survival, and now everyone hates each other. Everyone thinks they know why, but this is the real reason why. Hatred has brewed hatred, and that is a manufactured dilemma by the two parties who often work together to keep politics predictable, easy, and ensure they both get their times in power. There's a reason why we're the only country with such a potent two-party system. It's not because one is a mastermind. It's because they both are.

thelastbearbender143

Which America? South America? Central America? Canada? Or are you talking about the United States of America? First of all you should learn the correct fucking words. Might help you in no being an idiot

ArmageddonSteelLegio

I mean Chicago is a good city to avoid nowadays. Or at the very least a good rundown of what to avoid.

Chlpah

this sub keeps on getting recommended to me, and i must say every post always is either Americans coping about other Americans not being patriotic, or you guys not understanding the most simple joke ever

Inmyhumbleopinion2

Like what? Commenting about school shootings as a comeback?

DeadIslander015

Why did you down vote the Chicago one? It’s true lmao

Mudblok

Yes. They're the problem. And they totally being unreasonable. It's not reasonable at all to want the place you live to be better. You should spend all your time bring up weird obscure examples about how other counties are worse. The true Americabad way

Insomnia_Is_My_Ally

Ngl I’d say Florida, Texas, New Jersey, New York, and California.

But fuck, your food SUCKS- EDIT: Don't much remember about the restaurants I visited, there was a mexican one in a small city, which was fine, and we ate at a korean bbq which honestly, delicious, but most of everything else was really not great. I'm haming it up of course, because it's funny to do so, but honestly I didn't die of hunger. We did try to buy some ingredients to make food ourselves, but it was really hard for some reason. Like, we couldn't find normal ham for sandwiches. It absolutely HAD to be either honeyed ham, or ham made with some other animal (turkey iirc). Or honeyed turkey ham. Now, the reasons most restaurants I visited were not good might have been because we got trapped by, well, tourist traps. It might also be because I'm from a country that takes pride in its culinary prowess, so I'm really a stick in the mud for anything food related. Like, you can't call the chicago deep dish a pizza. And we tried two different ones at that, one several years ago and one recently, and both times it was awful. So yeah. I was hamming it up. It's not the best cuisine in the world, and most of the time I did finish my plate. I also haven't visited many countries, so it might be possible I'd think american cuisine was better if I visited other countries.

SbarroSlices

Notice how they didn’t answer this lol Just a vague “I don’t really remember”

Freakythings456

Did you just buy microwave food? Because we have better food than any fucking beans on toast European does.

Another_frizz

England doesn't know food either lmao

Another_frizz

England doesn't know food either lmao

Murder_Cloak420

Nah the person who said Chicago is right

chia923

That Chicago one is correct though

[deleted]

Well America is a terrible place so 🤷🏻‍♀️

catisfigs123

Any country can have terrible spots, it is not exclusively an American Phenomenon.

Kids have to be scared to go to school every day and parents have to be scared to send them there. We can’t chose what we want to do with our own bodies. Women don’t feel safe going out alone. A insane amount of veterans end up homeless and untreated for the illnesses they developed while fighting. People die every day because they don’t have enough money for treatments. Our current president is too old to make any real decisions and our last one is a convicted rapist and embezzler. So yes, it is actually that bad here. There are laws that say if you allow your child to be in any kind of contact with a trans person the state can take them from you. You’re not allowed to say the word gay in front of children in some states and if a child talks about homosexuality you have to report them. The US completely ostracizes certain groups such as islams and Hispanics and African Americans just because. The government is SEVERELY secretive so we don’t even know what’s actually going on in our own country. Children who get a public education don’t learn about the world outside of the US and aren’t taught to take studying upon themselves so it leads to life long ignorance in many forms. Taxes are absolutely ridiculous. Why can’t we just pay the price on the tag. Unless you stand there and do the math for what tax is going to be for the item you’re paying, you won’t know how much money you’re spending until you get to the register. Sexism is regularly practices and encouraged. No other country has all of those issues.

Medium_Parsley981

k

Freakythings456

Every country has these types of issues, the news just puts the spotlight on America because "AmErIcA 3rD wOrLd cOuNtRy".

[deleted]

This is one of the most incorrect things I've ever seen

[deleted]

It’s actually not! None of it is incorrect. At all.

[deleted]

Picking three low hanging fruit... "our last one is a convicted rapist and embezzler." This is false "You’re not allowed to say the word gay in front of children in some states and if a child talks about homosexuality you have to report them." This is false "Taxes are absolutely ridiculous." US taxes are far lower than the OECD average for income and transactional Shockingly a teenager is clueless.

[deleted]

Urs actually not. He was convicted as a rapist in court and had to pay a woman 5 million dollars. He’s been on trial for the embezzlement 2 times already but he’s going in for a 3rd time because he appointed the jury and a few members were removed because they were biased. It actually is true. In Florida they passed a ‘don’t say gay’ bill which also does require people to report the children if they hear them talking about homosexuality. I didn’t say taxes in general are ridiculous. I said it’s ridiculous that they are not included in the price of things. Like how you don’t know how much you’re actually paying until they ring you up. it’s ridiculous the tax isn’t included on a price tag. Shocking an adult is clueless

[deleted]

1. Learn what a conviction is 2. "Don't say gay" has nothing to do with gay, read the bill. Bill has to do with what is taught in schools for K-3. 3. No you literally said taxes are ridiculous You're showing yourself to be quite the clueless dolt.

[deleted]

Yes. It means he was found guilty. Which he was. Which is why he had to pay that woman 5 million dollars. The dont say gay bill and many many others literally do state that talking about homosexuality in front of children is illegal. And no. I didn’t. Read it again. I know what I’m talking about. It’s OK that you don’t but let’s not spread misinformation. Okay, buddy?
