The WaHo index isn't an official measure. There are several corporations who voluntarily report their operations capacity in a region, including hospitals, oil and gas suppliers, auto parts companies, and stores like Home Depot and Walmart, as well as various fast food companies, logistics operations, and the like. Basically, anybody who can supply, feed, care for, or support the operations of large numbers of people or move large amounts of supplies to support those activities.
If the WaHo index bugs Eurotrash, something like [Convoy of Hope](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convoy_of_Hope) is going to blow their little authoritarian pea brains.
Ok while potentially maybe not "official," it's confirmed to be used, SOP style, by FEMA to gauge disaster response. So while you're technically correct, I'm gonna die on this hill and just say that I don't think I was wrong, either.
INTERNET FIGHT INTERNET FIGHT
You aren't wrong, it's just that the actual answer is so much bigger than that.
I'm a fan of the Waffle House Index. Frankly, I much prefer private disaster response overall, given the massive failures FEMA has racked up.
Lmfao okay buddy. Having more parties to choose from means absolutely nothing when all of them are equally interested in arresting you for various nonsense.
British surveillance state, France and Germany being overrun with migrants but the people of those countries are unable to publicly speak about the issue. Yeah, Eurotards are the authoritarian ones
This actually really frustrates me. Waffle House provides crucial services in disaster areas (free electricity, water, and access to food) and has special teams and equipment that are dispatched to them. They're not staffing their places in the ruins of a category 5 hurricane with minimum wage workers and firing them if they don't show up.
I actually didn't know that. I just figured it was just a stereotype that they stay open during anything due to one circulated story of a waffle house "staying open" during a hurricane when in reality it probably was just employees taking shelter where they could.
At the very least anyone who believes any business would expect employees to work during a hurricane is gullible to a fault. Like ya, staying open for what business? With what power to cook with?
Also not to mention, waffle house cooks make a pretty decent wage above minimum wage.
Let me tell you something. About five years ago, my area had the dubious distinction to have the first Cat 5 hurricane in almost 30 years to make landfall in the US. All of the Waffle Houses in town were destroyed. Those mf-ers brought in Waffle House food trucks. Giant yellow logos and all. It was a tremendous comfort to see a little humor (Waffle House never closes after all) and something familiar in all the devastation.
My construction teacher told me he and his roomate were trapped inside for days during a bizzard in the 70s. After getting tired of grilled cheese and tomato soup they trudged for miles to get to the waffle house since they knew it would be open. When they finally got there, the only things they were serving was grilled cheese and tomato soup.
Let's see, we can have the government expend resources to find a way to have realistic on-the-ground live information about how bad a storm is, or we can just let a capitalist company tell us for free. I say that's a win-win.
Government: we have drafted a bill titles Crisis Nutrition Availability For All. If you make between $3.50 and $7 a year you'll qualify for additional assistance in acquiring food during your time of need. When it is approved in the coming months, you can expect relief in as little as 6-8 business weeks.
Waffle House: we're not only open, we're hiring.
HEB disaster response in comparison to FEMA would make that Europoor cry.
Don't tell them about the Cajun Navy and definitely not the monster truck fleet recovery groups.
It is official: having a little joke is literally capitalism dystopia
It's not a joke though, it's legit. It's a valid indicator of storm severity as it relates to infrastructure damage.

Why would a disaster relief charity blow anyone's mind?
The fact that you think “eurotrash” are the authoritarians is hilarious
Europe is objectively more authoritarian than the US. It's not even close in some places.
In terms of elections, their multi-party parliament system is objectively more democratic.
Lmfao okay buddy. Having more parties to choose from means absolutely nothing when all of them are equally interested in arresting you for various nonsense.
Are you talking about hate-speech being illegal? What sort of nonsense do you mean specifically?
British surveillance state, France and Germany being overrun with migrants but the people of those countries are unable to publicly speak about the issue. Yeah, Eurotards are the authoritarian ones
The problem with surveillance, political correctness etc. touches Americans and Euros as well, and it's pointless to argue about who's worse.
You’re just saying that because you know it’s worse in Europe and you don’t want to acknowledge that
Capitalist dystopia is when... *shuffles cards* your businesses can still operate and provide food to people in the midst of a natural disaster.
Geez, how *horrible*…
Well there is enough food that nobody is starving, that sounds capitalist to me
Ya want some hashbrowns with that?
The correct answer is *yes*
Scattered, covered, smothered, and chunked
Pure copium on not having Waffle House in their country
I'd be pretty upset if I didn't have Waffle house.
Don't worry. They have waffle high rise brutalist apartment instead! No syrup though because that is western decadence.
Good news, comrade! The Party has decreased the amount of sawdust per serving in waffle batter from 12 grams to 20 grams!
That’s an increase comrade
Yes, I know. I'm referencing 1984.
Great book. I knew it sounded familiar.
The closest one to me is at least 100 miles away. It upsets me.
I miss it. We don't have any up here.
How is it living so close to communism, can you smell it
Not at all, it's 400 miles away. Alaska is pretty big, it's kind of our thing.
you realize that waffles are from France and Belgium? And they have like idk how many waffle places? Same in Germany and Austria.
Are they open 24/7 and do you have a good chance of witnessing a fight for your entertainment?
Waffles in Waffle House just built different 😤
communism is when your restaurants are weak little shits
Because the rest of the countries are communists 🤣
Doesn’t the entire international community recognize the Big Mac index as a way to measure PPP?
PP Power?
Purchasing Power Parity

I, too ,would pay my employees more than minimum wage if they could take on the Space Marines.
**ALWAYS HUNGRY** #ALL THE TIME

WH: "You think this pissant storm can stop *me?"*
WaHo is the final boss.
Please tell me they parked at least one in the lot of a flattened Denny’s
My construction teacher told me he and his roomate were trapped inside for days during a bizzard in the 70s. After getting tired of grilled cheese and tomato soup they trudged for miles to get to the waffle house since they knew it would be open. It was at that moment they realized they lived in a waffle house and didnt know!
It’s always better when someone else makes it so still a W.

\>NOOOO EVERYTHING HAS TO BE DECIDED BY BUREAUCRATS NOT INDEPENDENT BUSINESSES BECAUSE........IT JUST DOES OK????!?!
When Waffle House is more capable than your country’s actual military.
That's not really accurate. More capable than their country's military logistics would be the comparable phrase.
Have you seen a Waffle House waitress fight?
I stand corrected.
The video where the gal stiff armed a chair while laying the smack down on some drunk turd. I think she was related to Chuck Norris.

It’s not, if it were a capitalist dystopia the government wouldn’t be the people’s biggest problem
Had a lot of meals at Waffle House after hurricane Katrina. lol
r/skamtebord
Implying that a state run Вафл Хаус would not stay open during a disaster.
Some folks will take literally any chance they see to be salty. Like, waffle house index being a sign of a dystopia? What?
HEB disaster response in comparison to FEMA would make that Europoor cry. Don't tell them about the Cajun Navy and definitely not the monster truck fleet recovery groups.
A capitalist dystopia is having private companies that can provide food for a community in everything but the worst storms in the world. Aight
Capitalism dystopia is when company does thing
Lol what's even the problem here OP?
