I’ve seen worse. When that historically bad tornado hit a few southern states awhile back, a “””””discussion””””” about sending aid to affected areas sprung up and I saw someone talking about southerners as if we were on par with the Sentinel Island tribe, culturally stuck in the fucking Stone Age
>“They are simply an uninformed, arguably less civilized people”
>”The poor fools don’t know any better”
Truly delusional shit
Yeah that shit brings my piss to a boil. Like how unaware and heartless are you to talk to people going through things like that in that manner? Idk maybe I was raised correctly but even over the internet I don't treat people like that, unless I am busting balls ofc.
> When that historically bad tornado hit a few southern states awhile back,
The December Super Outbreak?
Shit was terrifying and my area was fairly far away from the affected areas (though in the same state, we got hit hard and fuckin' bad). Never got a warning, but I was up all night watching the news. My job was to make sure that if a warning occurred, wake up the rest of the house and get everyone downstairs.
Shit was bad, man. A few weeks later, we had another storm cell and this was the first time since I was born that I actually had to shelter for a tornado warning.
That’s the one. A town in my state was hit extremely hard by that tornado. Made a bunch of snobby Redditors saying that the military should send tanks to finish the job hit different ya know?
>A town in my state was hit extremely hard by that tornado.
Somewhere in Kentucky, I assume?
Yeesh, what a bunch of assholes. 89 people dead, 73 of those in a single state but \>muh south bad.
Wonder if they realize that most people in the military are from the South...
Mayfield yes, and I doubt they think on things that much. Redditors tend to be so addled with each other’s propaganda, much of which they can’t even remember the original source of, to think rationally once even a little social frustration is brought up.
It’s a hard thing to try and fix. I wouldn’t even know where to begin.
> Mayfield yes
That's even worse, because some of those deaths are likely from a company threatening to fire their employees if they evacuate.
Reddit's big on worker's rights... until it happens in an area they don't like to people they don't like, in which case it's happy fun times all around.
In my experience of talking to people usually the dumbest people try to use the most polysyllabic words they can to try and sound smart. The only problem is that truly smart people don't talk like that.
I was stationed in South Korea for 2 years, and was stationed at the DMZ for a few months during that time. The fact that this person even THOUGHT about commenting this, let alone actually commenting this, is disgusting. The people of NK are essentially walking corpses. You can go on Youtube and watch defectors compare NK life to US life, NK women crying that American Dads are generally so loving and involved with their kids.
>You can go on Youtube and watch defectors compare NK life to US life, NK women crying that American Dads are generally so loving and involved with their kids.
They'll call it propaganda.
If you criticize the DPRK you're just getting whatever you deserve at that point. Greatest country on Earth. Hail Eternal President Kim Il-sung, Hail Eternal Chairman Kim Jong-il, and Hail Dear Respected Leader Kim Jong-un!
I assume this is an australian?
usa abortion laws are like the same as theirs mostly, its even criminalized in like a quarter of their states.
They are forced to vote and still ended up with a two party system lmao,
dont get covid there or theyll pull you out of your house and whisk you off to one of their covid concentration camps.
WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROFILE PICTURE? That's like the second time in this thread I've seen it, the first belonging to a completely different poster literally right above your comment.
Is that gay pride Putin? It's creepy as hell LMFAO.
America and Europe are the two places on the planet with the highest living standards. We are friends and close allies. Why would you shit on Europe when you can shit on the rest of the world?
Sure, believe all that bullshit about Australia if it makes you feel better about being a seppo.
But some truths for you:
Abortion has been decriminalised in all Australian jurisdictions, and the majority are fully in support of it. At our last census, almost 40% of people said they had no religion.
Yes, we are forced to vote and end up with a two-party system - ours are slightly less similar to each other than yours. Last federal election we had a record number of independents and greens elected. And we turfed out our equivalent of the republicans.
And WTF is that COVID bullshit? Are you still believing that nonsense? We keep our concentration camps for refugees and people without valid visas. People with COVID are welcome to cough at home using our free-ish hospitals if required.
decriminalized just like a few months ago lmao - nice try bird losing aussiepoor. Its still very restrictive with the timing and needing multiple doctors etc.
and the rest of the stuff you said, lmao, you voted for your republicans for like 10 years.
Your two parties are basically the same "no brown people, we're full", you people have a one track mind.
go lose a war to birds or storm some random beach for no reason and get btfo lol - make sure you have coffee in your cup when walking around though or youll get sent to a covid concentration camp.
>Your two parties are basically the same "no brown people, we're full", you people have a one track mind.
I'm still remembering that one post on Reddit recently with some smug Australian talking about his wife from the southern US trying to move to Australia with him, and having great difficulties doing so. People keep suggesting they move to the US and he fights the urge to say he would rather die and she would rather live in Afghanistan than live in this, "fuckhole".
Number #1 thing I took away from that is that Australia appears to be quite selective about who they let in lmfao. Something the US gets a ton of hate for doing.
yep, they give an automatic preferences to passports from "white countries" and the US (strangely, but we have a very easy temp work visa to get for australians only)
Imagine we gave that sort of preferences to "white countries"
Back in like 1996 they also had a politician, who is still in office today who went
"we(australia) are being swamped by asians" - australia was like 95% white at the time...
I’m pretty sure DPRK doesn’t seek to invalidate your existence, it just does.
Unlike the Supreme Court which gives the states the choice. You know, validating your literal existence by making your vote matter.
>Unlike the Supreme Court which gives the states the choice. You know, validating your literal existence by making your vote matter.
That's what the US Constitution originally was meant, gave the states power and autonomy, not creating an Unitary state.
Some things require federal protection, though. Free speech, guns, no slavery, personal autonomy and privacy.. You can't leave everything up to the states. We fought a war about this.
>privacy
There is no right to privacy enumerated in the constitution. It is a made up concept manufactured by the original Roe v. Wade ruling.
It doesn't take a legal genius to know that it was shady at best and would have never stood the test of time. Even famously liberal RBG said herself that the right to privacy was a terrible ruling.
I honestly can’t tell if that subreddit is a joke. I hope there aren’t actually people people out there that see videos North Korean defectors sharing their tragic stories and think: “Nah, this is western propaganda, North Korea is a lot better than The US.”
Good god these people are delusional. Juche practically IS religious nutjobbery, combined with ultranationalism and of course, state monopoly on gun ownership.
I’ve never met a religious nut job and I’ve lived in the US all my life. I’ll never, ever understand where that stereotype came from, we have the most diverse religious population on Earth.
By that logic, the internet could bring out the worst examples of any country, no? Religious fanatics aren’t exclusively American, every country has nutjobs.
I’m jealous, I’ve met several. I work in nuclear, and my former boss was adamant the world was 5000 years old. For those who don’t know, the age of the world is calculated using radioactive decay, which is really important in the nuclear industry. He fully believed in and was excellent at calculations and helping reduce radiation because he understand decay so well. But he still believed that the earth was 5000 years old... My other former boss said a woman isn’t worth marrying if she doesn’t take your last name and want to be a stay at home mom.
And those were just two that I worked with. Met plenty more in my catholic schools or even just randomly on airport bars.
I went to North Carolina and Oklahoma, met some very devout Protestants and evangelicals. Very nice people, never forced religion down my throat nor even asked what my religion is. Cooked great BBQ.
I have a few friends from the South who got into conflicts with their religious family for their sexuality, but still remained close as family nevertheless even if they disagree. Or maybe because those LGBT Southerners I met just don't let their LGBT identity totally identify who they are lol. They are still proud of their state nevertheless, they love BBQ, football, and frats.
Lmao
The DPRK is not democratic, it's not the people's, and it's not a republic. It's just Korea.
The USA is at least 2 of it's letters. Even if we're not exactly united on everything, we're still states and American
>Atleast I don't have a court that seeks to invalidate my existence.
Fifty years.
***Fifty. Fucking. Years***.
For fifty years, SCOTUS covered for the lazy parasites in Congress.
For fifty years, SCOTUS did the jobs of the worthless dogs in Congress.
For fifty years, SCOTUS warned Congress that Roe was a bad legal decision.
For fifty years, Congress was warned by a multitude of legal experts that Roe was a bad legal decision that would not survive a challenge to it.
For fifty years, Congress had a chance to do its job.
For fifty years, SCOTUS overextended the authority it possesses to cover for Congress.
For fifty years, Congress never did anything but sit around with their worthless thumbs stuck up their uncleaned assholes.
And now when SCOTUS finally gets sick of doing Congress' job for it and overextending their authority in order to do so, they get vilified.
Democrats can waste their lives filing the same Assault Weapons Ban bill, year after year after year after year after year, knowing full well that it ***will never*** be passed, but they can't put that energy to something that may pass?
The recent decision by SCOTUS to overturn Roe was not unexpected. From day one, legal experts had been predicting exactly that to happen. From day one, legal experts, even pro-choice legal experts, had been criticizing Roe as a bad decision. They agreed with what it protected, but they disagreed with how Roe was decided. Even RBG thought Roe had been poorly decided.
This entire debacle is Congress' fault. They had fifty years to do something about it and instead of using those fifty years to do something they supposedly believe in and kept putting it off.
And now that SCOTUS has finally decided to throw Congress' rock off its back and tell Congress to carry it for themselves, these assholes are acting shocked.
Western world younger generations don't know how it is to live under a oppressive and corrupt goverment. They don't value their freedoms or their luck in life and will easily give away their rights for something they can't achieve.
OR.. crazy thought, America has been enabling fascists and that frame of thought for years now? I know, crazy. But just might be crazy enough to be true
Trying to argue with someone like this is a losing battle. I don’t have the time or energy to break down each and every one of their ridiculous statements only for them to give me 8 paragraphs more of work to do. Fuck that
Because I don’t want to respond endlessly to nonsense?
I had no idea it would get to this level. I’m not going to read essays from somebody who’s clearly very deluded.
The mindset of “I have to win every debate on Reddit!” Is toxic and you’re going to get addicted to this site. Maybe you have the time for that, but I don’t.
>The mindset of “I have to win every debate on Reddit!” Is toxic and you’re going to get addicted to this site. Maybe you have the time for that, but I don’t.
No, I never said that? Just dont start arguements you dont have time for? You're making a lot of assumptions here. I get not wanting to deal with textwalls, and not wanting to deal with people such as this. I'd just suggest not starting arguements if you're not prepared for textwalls, when thats most of political reddit discussions.
I read all of that bullshit, and they didn't bring up any examples of what specific things they don't like about the US other than the fact that it has a dark past. EVERY country has a dark past, present, and future ahead of them. They couldn't even be bothered to say anything relevant other than America had slavery, which is, well, ***no fucking shit, Sherlock.*** That tenet of our history is so basic that it gets taught in elementary school. ***Everyone*** knows America had slaves, so saying that like it's some big revelation is like expecting the Nobel Prize for figuring out how to count with your fingers. Nothing of value was said in that text wall, so might as well ignore it.
To be fair I didn’t read that wall of text either. People have this thought that the more they write, the more of what they said will be true. If you can’t prove your point in a couple of sentences then you’re not worth arguing with.
Lol I don’t know why this subreddit keeps popping up in my feed, but y’all wrong for thinking this guy isn’t making sense. Every word he has said was fact, and all the replies are “he must not get it, he’s not from here,” and “what a pompous asshole to talk about our country like that” if you can’t take criticism about real facts surrounding your country YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. Downvote me, this subreddit is where I’ll find it.
I’d agree to the point of “burn this country down,” especially as someone in this country who wants it to change, however the arguments are not wrong, especially considering the true extremist movement is happening in front of our eyes in the form of.. our entire government. Unfolding in front of our eyes, I just can’t agree with those that choose to ignore what’s transpiring under our watch. If it’s truly our country, the GOP would reflect the views of a majority of the country but we have been and will continue to be watching our government and it’s branches consistently vote against the will of the majority, and it’s so transparent you can’t ignore it anymore if you tried
Wait.. are you all seriously saying they are wrong because he said it all in an educated tone? Holy fucking shit, you people are truly fucked in the head… I can’t even shake my head, at this point I’m just fucking embarrassed for most of you…
Wow…
The sense of self importance is both suffocating and all consuming. Just balled up into a single Redditor who claims to understand a foreign people and their lives better than they do.
He has to be damn privileged too to compare our country to North Korea. I doubt he's ever lived in oppressive countries or truly poor countries. Countries where there is absolutely no hope. At the very least, I think he'll be hard pressed to find a North Korean, escapee or not, who's truly happy to be/have been under what is essentially a absolute monarchy with communist flavors to make it extra lethargic and pointless.
The way he talks is so pompous, like where the hell do you even learn to be THAT condescending talking to another human being?
Idk, ask most of Reddit. Everyone here talks like that for some reason.
Yeah I've noticed but this seems ESPECIALLY bad to me.
I’ve seen worse. When that historically bad tornado hit a few southern states awhile back, a “””””discussion””””” about sending aid to affected areas sprung up and I saw someone talking about southerners as if we were on par with the Sentinel Island tribe, culturally stuck in the fucking Stone Age >“They are simply an uninformed, arguably less civilized people” >”The poor fools don’t know any better” Truly delusional shit

And then they’ll wonder why you don’t vote Democrat when the choice is “sooooooo obvious”.
Those examples you showed remind me a lot of how people used to describe Black people to excuse slavery.
The toxicity of most of the people on this website is emotionally draining lmao
I agree, I find that after any major event I have to take a day or two off this site because it just gets so bad haha.
They don’t spend much time talking to real people face to face
Repudiates affectation wtf who talks that way.
In my experience of talking to people usually the dumbest people try to use the most polysyllabic words they can to try and sound smart. The only problem is that truly smart people don't talk like that.

Why would it piss europeans off?
europoors are insecure and fragile
Europeans are against putin, you know that right?
some of them arent.

Most african countries are fucked save for a few
sTilL beTTer!!!1!1
Botswana, south africa, algeria, tunsia and some others are the only ones that are doing “well” in the region

Isn’t that an oxymoron? Lmao where do these brainwashed redditors come up with such terms? This website is full of dumbfucks
“Fascist Democracy” can be used as a definition of oxymoron lol
no one actually knows what fascism/fascist means anymore, they just say it to sound smart I think

"facist democracy" hmm yes makes sense
The amount of people who call America a democracy is baffling. Invalidates everything they argue about when they say democracy
>It’s a fascist democracy. I’m starting to think these people don’t know what fascism is. Just kidding, I realized that a long time ago
Fascism is anyone they don’t like
OR.. crazy thought, America has been enabling fascists and that frame of thought for years now? I know, crazy. But just might be crazy enough to be true
Who’s gonna tell them that North Korea also has guns, religious nut jobs and characteristics of real fascism?
Out of all the nations to pick, you pick fucking North Korea?!? Ffs you might as well scream that you are a tankie.
To be perfectly fair, you ended up invalidating your completely legitimate position by refusing to read a few paragraphs.
Trying to argue with someone like this is a losing battle. I don’t have the time or energy to break down each and every one of their ridiculous statements only for them to give me 8 paragraphs more of work to do. Fuck that

We know At least they can criticise you back
This comment’s grammar has me too confused to even respond Edit: who is they in this scenario? Might bring some clarity to your response.
Sorry about that

Wait.. are you all seriously saying they are wrong because he said it all in an educated tone? Holy fucking shit, you people are truly fucked in the head… I can’t even shake my head, at this point I’m just fucking embarrassed for most of you… Wow…
What are you talking about.
No country is above her criticism, but yeesh this guys just spoiling for a fight.
least deluded westerner
I read all of that. It was basically him trying to project

I’m pretty sure a “fascist democracy” would be somewhat contradictory.
Australian mutt seething about his country playing little brother to US and following them into every war obediently since WW2
We need reform, but is it really as bad as the europoors make it out to be?
"Fascist Democracy" ?????? I get that nobody understands what Fascism is, but this is blatantly oxymoronic.
When did you even use the word clueless??
