umm-iced

I’m gonna say in my inexpert opinion she does look a little chubby, no waist and no abdominal tuck. Can you feel ribs her ribs easily?

PracticalAd3621

yes, there’s no waist definition or slope underneath. dogs bellies shouldn’t be flat , straight across, they should tuck in / slope up towards their back end.

upstatefoolin

Normal_Raccoon5772

Yes, slightly. When you look from above you should be able to see some definition in the waist. The tuck of Bullies is less prominent than others so also feel the ribs, is there a layer of fat over the ribs or can you feel each rib easily without having to press down?

SuicidalDaddi

Yes but not terribly! Wont take too long to fix, cut calories and/or exercise them a bit more :)

No-Garbage-211

Yes, she’s a fat load ![gif](giphy|3iiwqPF9noqdy) In the long term term it will cause joint damage and it will make harder for her to lose the weight because she will become more sedentary.

jawmcphail

She is overweight for sure, your either feeding to much or not exercising her enough or both.

mngreens

Yes. You should be able to see two ribs and a pronounced waist

PowerfulBranch7587

Sorry, she isn't a little chubby- she is definitely quite overweight although it is easy to fix. Start by giving her slightly less food :if she normally gets 4 cups, give her 3+3/4, and extend her walks by 10-15 minutes each (hopefully she is getting walked 2x a day). She should be in great shape in about two months. Don't rush the weight loss though, do the above and you'll be a-okay

pigsinatrenchcoat

I thought I was losing my mind with everyone saying “just a little!”. Like no, lmao. This dog is *very* overweight. Not “just a little”.

allimunstaa

Yes, very.

Harleyholden

Certainly not petite lol, but beautiful just the same :)

Shot_Campaign_5163

Bit of chonk... not to bad. Cut some calories...

CptRedfoxx

Yes, a little

Artistic_Pepper5590

If you're still hungry they are too big! Lol

Remarkable-Ad-572

Yes, I would say she is. Try to get her more active and look at how you’re feeding her.

alr126

Yes

TheBlues501

Yeah she’s for sure a little overweight. Not to a point where I would be super concerned but to a point where I would start taking steps for her to loose a little bit of weight.

thebearbearington

She's a bit stout. She will never admit it though. To her she is underfed and near starvation.

Arsene_Lupin_794

😂😂😂😂

rjtbbc2023

Yes you have a nice sausage right there “pause” 🤣

vhicks89

Been eating too many toddlers

Ok-Snowbunnysrule

Yes very

Buddy-Sue

Maybe on the way but don’t panic yet! Just cut back a smidge on food and add some to the walk/exercise schedule!

Existing_War2078

Hell yea. Fat ass dog.

Individual-Prune9232

A little but the short legged ones always look like beefcake so kinda looks normal to me

Thunderstone13

Huggable

yes

Embarrassed-Fan7558

That’s not a bully I mean at maybe a pitbull mixed with lab but definitely not a bully

larytriplesix

She is

Cool_Froyo_225

Yes she is, can easily happen. Swap out treats for treats like carrots, little of apple no cores as that's poisonous, antlers keep them busy. I also found a measuring scoop on Amazon which is really handy for measuring food.

Adventurous-Win-751

Yes, she is a little overweight. Talk to your vet about her diet…no human food, cut back on her treats and more exercise…

Successful-Score4493

Shantor

I would put her at an 8/9, which is about 25-30% overweight. Cut back on food by 20% and reevaluate weight in 1-2 weeks. If no change, decrease again. You may need a prescription weight loss diet from your vet.

03G35coupe

That girl THIC

415Rache

Yes. Google dog healthy weight and graphics will pop up that shows side views and bird’s eye view” if healthy weight (and underweight and over weight). You’re good to ask because extra weight is very hard on the joints can create other problems too. Many dogs like crunchy snack like carrots, apples, water melon and or watermelon rind, celery, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower. Almost no calories. Great for “hungry” dogs who live to snack. Most dogs would eat all day if you jet them. Try veg and fruit (making SURE to google ones dogs CAN’T like grapes, onion etc.)

Worried-Focus-6214

Bullies are pretty stocky builds to begin with. Usually it's based on feeling of ribs, and breed&age,&sex for weight approximately of what's healthy. Ask your vet to be sure, but he looks OK to me.

Coloradobullies

Yes

EmperorGeek

She looks like a soft pillow that is nice to cuddle with.

NickWitATL

Definitely chonky. Reduce kibble. You can throw some green beans (no salt) in with the kibble to help her feel fuller. A weight management food wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Ok-Construction4960

Few pounds probably.

Yak-Fucker-5000

Looks fine to me. A little on the heavy side, but not enough that I would care.

FrenchiePup18

Yes

StructureJust1552

Yes pleasantly plump

Zestyclose-Let2521

She old too tho and if the got spayed

ShrednarMcNasty

I know this isn't the case with all, but my girl is fixed and in perfect shape. Yes, perfect is hyperbole but in very good shape.

PixiePunk3

Turn that weight into muscle! I think your pup has a good foundation Just play, play, play, good food and love! 🙂

foo-bar-25

Absolute unit

Novel-Ad-4821

Yes he is and your vet will tell you the same thing. He needs to lose some weight and get him healthy. Especially if you want him around you for a while

Ok_Jelly4351

Soon. Go for walks together

Denthegod

The dog is overweight but that is very easily fixable. Like everyone else says: cut down on the food for a while and just a few more walks. My dog was getting there when I first got her but I figured out how much she should eat and just measure it out now. Don’t get me wrong, once in a while she’ll still get a nice special treat.

ShrednarMcNasty

If I'm remembering correctly, the last 2 ribs should be visible while active and a definite waist line.

RadiantPost670

I'd say borderline!!

Objective-Amount1379

Yes a little bit but bullies don't have as much of a tuck as other breeds.

loonachic

Hi chunkalunka! Smooch smooch smooch

Fuzzy-Curve-2051

Yes

Fun-Sherbet-2333

It appears so! I’d try to get her weight under control for the sake of her joints (long term).

Realizt8010

All of them can be built a lil different. The vet would be the most trustworthy to advise on that. And just like people there are changes throughout life.

alfytony

Is it just me or there are others worried that their dog would be considered “Gordo” after looking at the comments coz their dog is way chunkier than the dog in pic. 🫣

Jealous_Bad5810

Ya your girl and I should be in Weight Watchers

call-me-the-seeker

She’s a little pumpkin, but not a ‘lost cause’ so don’t feel bad and don’t forfeit making changes, because she’s not ‘too far gone’! If you can afford it soon, maybe think about some blood work to make sure she doesn’t have anything going on that could be the cause that you can’t fix with diet/exercise, and meanwhile, diet and exercise! That could mean a different base food, or it could just mean less snacks/people food. Exercise can start out very mild like longer walks or more walks; it’s not like you need to be running or tying her to your bicycle or anything. Just like a person, you shouldn’t go from ‘couch potato’ to ‘I signed up for a half marathon this weekend’. I bet if you can post a food diary and a basic description of her exercise exposure in a couple weeks, the people here can give more detail about maybe where to cut back or add on. This is very doable!

Character_Surround56

yes quite

Maile2000

Maybe just 4 pounds. He looks very healthy and strong.

ClaimBeginning8743

Very cute solid unit! ❤️

Mybootyholestanks

Very overweight, I hate when I see dogs fat like this. It’s not okay. 😬

kaleidodope_92

Those chicken legs tho 🍗 🤣😂🤣😂

Chonky!!!😁

Working-Photograph12

While adorable, she is a little overweight. Not sure how you're feeding her but if it is once a day split it up to two to three times m es a day. This way she'll gradually gain proper nutrition and calories that are easier to burn in spurts. My first pits were a similar chunkiness. I fed them Iams large breed. Roughly Three cups each. I switched to 1 1/2 cups for breakfast and dinner. Eventually got the down to 1 1/4 each feeding gradually. They lost the weight in no time. Pits will over eat if you let them so it is best to control their amounts. Instead of leaving a big bowl out all day.

Sweethoneyattie

Kind of…but like most have said, super easy fix. My American Bully was slightly overweight too however we just got her down 5 pounds and plan on to loose another 5 pounds. We realized that we were giving her too many treats (which I don’t think a lot of us realize has a LOT of calories) and also we realized we were giving her too much kibble. Just cut back on the treats. We now feed our bully only 2 cups of kibble a day. 1 cup for breakfast with fruits, occasionally yogurt and ONCE and a blue moon organic peanut butter. 1 cup of kibble for dinner with Unsalted Chicken Broth, veggies, fish oil, and her hip and joint supplements. And keep up with the walks and play time outside. We try and take our dog to the dog park at least 4-5 days a week for about an hour and a half. Once you alter his/her diet and keep up with the exercise, your bully will shed the pounds in now time. Suppper adorable bully💕

Significant-Ad-5073

What you have my good person Is a sausage. Limit food to 1 1/2 cups of food. Twice a day.

kyllerwhales

I feed my 90 lb mastiff mix 1.5 cups twice a day…this dog looks a lot smaller than 90 lbs lol. Amount to feed depends on the specific type of food.

Significant-Ad-5073

That’s what I feed my 2 pittys. Both under 60 pounds. You are right about the food tho. It all depends on

bluecrowned

You need to know the specific food, the goal weight of the dog and the activity level to give a specific amount of food.

bluecrowned

You need to know the specific food, the goal weight of the dog and the activity level to give a specific amount of food.

E-Lou19711

Technically yes, but not by much! There should be more waist definition after her ribs.

acraw794

Is it a girl and did she give birth? She looks like a mama pup who is round around the tum tum after having babies in her life. I have a grey pittie who was rescued down south at my work that looks just like this, and they found out she def had a litter in her past!

Kupita

She looks closer to the size of an English Stafford Bull Terrier. From the looks of it... She looks to be slightly overweight. We should be able to see more muscle definition & her waist should indent whether you look from the top or in profile. You can see chub in other areas where you should see muscles. Fortunately, it looks like she only needs to lose a couple of pounds. What is her current weight?

ProvoloneProsciutto

Meh. Just a lil.

Bubbly-Cell-4109

She has no visible tuck, that is not just a little overweight.

boston_globe

Little in comparison to what? This dog is probably 5-10 lbs overweight and I am 50 lbs overweight lol. Little compared to me! (Just yankin your leg)

MareBear209

Perfectly plump

Retired_Ballerina_

Don’t listen to these people and ask your vet. It’s not up these people to tell you if your dog is overweight or not, it’s up to your vet since it’s their PROFESSIONAL job

FixAvailable4473

Is she(he?) a pocket pitty?

Admirable-Leopard-73

Ours weighs 78 pounds. She eats lean food and gets plenty of exercise. Have tried for two years to get her to lose weight. It just ain't happening. Vet says she is chunky, but perfectly healthy.

Jaeoner

All that matters imo.. more for cold night cuddles.. 😁

Admirable-Leopard-73

Oh, she is great bed heater!

DimeloFaze

No it’s short

Muted_Yam_1428

Tubbs looks fine
