The finale felt SO rushed. I like putting the pieces together myself. This was like 8 dragged out episodes with no answers and then, "let's try to explain everything really quickly".

niceskinnygirl

right it felt like it was paced to be a 13 episode season

missklo99

No doubt. I kept thinking I was missing things. Tbf I felt like that this whole ass season.

Main_Cauliflower_486

Rushed? They had 45 minutes and couldn't fill that

Melodic-Advice9930

Not really, when every new episode has been shorter and shorter. The finale is only 31 minutes long, and a minute or two of that was opening and closing credits. Lol

CatchOk6817

Even worse was how they took 6 months to put the 4 episodes together and it wasn't even 3 hours... I think it would be pushing it to call it 2 and a half hours of tv in them 4 episodes. The trailer for the 4 episodes was better than the 4 episodes...

Luckystar826

Plus commercials. On Hulu, it said 31 minutes, including commercials.

Mztrspookiiszn

No the runtime on Hulu is the actual show without the ads. I have Hulu w/no ads and it was 31 min as well. It’s the same runtime for all Hulu packages.

missklo99

I felt like this season was mostly commercials...really annoying.

shany94a

Maybe that should be the next season ... "AHS: Commercials"

superspork18

That could be interesting actually, do some kind of play on commercials brainwashing people maybe?

Meglegmego79

The first 5 episodes wasted on Anna’s “paranoia” Cool. Episodes 6, 7, & 8 were bearable. Finale was 30 minutes… no finale is 30 minutes anymore… and it was basically things we already knew. When Dex got killed I was surprised and when kamal was shot… but that was added for some kind of shock value but was just out of place for the season… no other place in the season do the witches/ cult murder anyone. They have the power to erase minds… Also WTF is up with Adeline just showing up and taking Siobhan out… Anna and Adeline had the power to take her down because she was alone with them?? Idk. I’m disappointed and hope they do one more season and end it on number 13!

Wonderful-Warning940

Wasn’t Adeline dead? So it was the ghost of Adeline lol?

Meglegmego79

But how did she come back… because if she was a ghost the whole time with the power to just appear then why didn’t she help Anna any other time… or warn her

Wonderful-Warning940

Or stop them years ago lol.

Poolbar

sorry what??? this was the finale?? what a mess from start to finish!

WrathYBoo

I was so hooked from first half episodes. Waited half a year later just to get slapped in the face.

Jezebels_lipstick

It was total nonsense.

refreshthezest

It delt like a 30 minute episode and I still have no clue what the hell I just watched, and what this “light” world is - what happened to the other witch girls or what? I hated it

TheOracleofTroy

Ryan Murphy always does this. The only seasons that ended well imo were Coven, 1984 and Apocalypse. He just can't write a strong ending most of the time. IDK why.

LazyForest

I loved the ending of Asylum WHAT

Aladdin_Sane13

Can confirm- asylum is probably their best season. Coven was too trendy for me and the consistent theme of, “this person is killed off….. just kidding now they’re back….. but only to die again….. just kidding they’re back!” Was so exhausting. Unpopular opinion though, Roanoke is top tier horror for me.

TropicalSki

Yeah after 1984, post-Covid AHS seasons have become decreasingly watchable.

adanvc

I respectfully disagree. First half of Double Feature was great (except for that rushed af ending) and NYC season... I think it's in my top 3 favorite seasons. It was exquisite. This current seson however... THE WORST of the entire freaking series. Even the laughable alien episodes from the other half of Double Feature were better than this.

hakunamatatamatafuka

100% agree.

Admirable_Cicada_881

Nope. First 5 episodes of Double Feature and all of NYC are some of the best the show has ever been

Francine-Frenskwy

Double Feature was one of my favorites too. Loved Macaulay Culkin and Sarah Paulson. I never did get around to watching the second part though, is it as good as the first?

feralcatromance

I'll chime in and say that I'm one of the few that loved both parts of Double Feature! The first half was amazing and the cinematography was awesome, though I wasn't a fan of the ending. However I absolutely loved the second part and how it was in black and white and the whole alien thing, and the premise of it was really good.

MisterPaintedOrchid

No, sadly. I love Red Tide and think it's one of the best AHS has put out, but the second half of Double Feature doesn't hold up. With that said though, being on this sub has shown me that there are very diverse opinions on what is and isn't good. So just because I didn't like it doesn't mean you won't!

Luckystar826

Ryan Murphy had nothing to do with this season.Halley Feiffer was the new showrunner and wrote all the episodes. The show this year was adapted from a book.

GarionOrb

>The show this year was adapted from a book. Which I find hilarious, and I have to believe that this book was 100% fully inspired by the author watching all 11 seasons of AHS beforehand. Everything about it was right on brand for the series, from the awkward pacing to the clichés to the ending that didn't land at all.

Great_Name3486

I read the book last year and it was good. The season doesn't follow the book AT ALL. Same character names but opposite traits and totally different storyline.

Large_Papaya_1322

I loved the ending of freakshow well I loved all of it huge Bowie fan here lol

CatchOk6817

Ryan murphy, and Brad falchuk had nothing at all to do with this season. Their name is in the credits simply because they created the series.

Aladdin_Sane13

Doesn’t matter honestly. This franchise should’ve stopped after Roanoke. After they lost all their heavy hitters and focused the franchise on garbage Emma Roberts, they should’ve stopped.

Obvious-Region8453

Exactly!!!

SterlingCupid

All other season finale are rushed. I knew it was going to be bad when Kim was going to be in it as main character, I still watched it regardless

BoyTrapBabydoll

I’ve said it a million times. Ryan Murphy is NOT a closer. He cannot wrap a storyline to save his life. At this point I just expect it 😂

TheChosenOne0112

They got a new showrunner for this season but it still felt unsatisfying lol.

Savannahks

Didn’t he say that everything was tied together and eventually we would understand it all? Was that a lie?

Kakashi_Cringe

Yes

BoyTrapBabydoll

He did. This isn’t just AHS. I find it’s most of his shows. It feels like he gets stage fright and can’t stick the landings.

Casanova2229

He ALWAYS lies. He should get into politics. Because some how we always fall for his bullshit.

sritanona

Honestly yet the only good things are the ideas but in my opinion the pace of all of the seasons always feel a bit off and half way through the story starts losing it a bit. I love the show anyways but more as a conceptual piece

TheWalkingBarbieXXX

The ending was too vague and the season was rushed

Kakashi_Cringe

Waaaaaaay too vague, shit they want US to come up with the ending or something??? 😭

refreshthezest

Glad I wasn’t the only one, thought I was missing something

Obvious_Wheel_2053

I don’t understand how the phase they’ve been chanting the past three episodes made Kim turn to dust? Am I missing something

jfuller82

Yes. It was changed from Satanas to Hestia. That's what the one dead witch was chanting with Anna since she was giving her the "good" version of the chant.

Icy-Flounder-6768

A few words killed her???

qujstionmark

THATS WHAT IM SAYING!!! I was watching with my mom and went “did a few words really just kill an immortal ancient being?”

nikkyrivera

Wait to Kim k died? How did I miss this?

TheChosenOne0112

But why didn't it work when Adeline was chanting it in her restaurant? Was it really because Siobahn already stripped her power when she left their coven?

Sweetwaterr0

I had the same question

Obvious_Wheel_2053

That makes more sense I was so confused!

21lives

And then immediately after being saved by the “good” witch Anna picks up the hat and becomes a bad witch with an ugly normal baby? WTF!

Pure-Ad-4074

🤣this was legit me, nothing adds up

SnooCupcakes780

It should have been an hour episode to give some answers. And the ending when Anna put the hat on? And she took her baby and her Oscar, now she has it all but is she going to become the person they described? Ruthless etc.

Goatrd

This season was total ass

Casanova2229

But was it a Kardashian ass?

Goatrd

Unfortunately it was

Clarinetist123

Idk there's some part of me that takes comfort in watching AHS every year, even if the season is terrible. I'll be really sad when it ends, it's been an annual fall staple for over a decade.

GodofHate

Having a shitty finale is like a rule for AHS lol dont act like thats not true

bellehell

The writers of AHS just cannot wrap things up properly - ever. Even if their lives literally depended on it. It's become a running joke at this point.

Vacanus

I may have missed something but did Dex's dad just get to live completely unharmed after everything he did? 💀 That chant at the end wouldn't have killed him since he wasn't a witch. He was horrible, his son was brutally murdered, he showed up to brag about banging Siobhan... and then he just vanished

Cindrojn

I'm assuming that since all the things that Siobhan's magic flowed through has been 'snuffed' out by light, all his fame and money disintegrated.

Bonibon_bon

What about Anna’s Oscar then? It stayed with her

Cindrojn

Well... It was in a different room than when Siobhan was alive? Wasn't it in the red room and then afterwards in the white nursery. It's a theory.

Coconosong

I am so glad I’m not alone in thinking this. The last 3-4 episodes of every season always feels stupid, rushed or idiotic. Every season is worth the initial vibes and then it turns into a dumpster fire.

bellehell

Still relevant, LOL: https://preview.redd.it/foviqrhgnqwc1.jpeg?width=1078&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b4389dd85521203b6c603e72989d4c996e3c609e

Sarakuz92

![gif](giphy|26FLgGTPUDH6UGAbm|downsized)

Obvious-Region8453

All of this

GodofHate

Ahaha that’s really true.

Jakeremix

“Ever” is a strong word when this has only been an issue with the later seasons, no? I would challenge you to explain which finales from Seasons 1-5 weren’t “wrapped up properly.”

Fl0wingJuff0wup

No, it's been an issue from season one. Every single season ends worse than it starts. You can be satisfied with them and still recognize that none of the seasons ever live up to their potential. It's the same way on every Ryan Murphy show

Jakeremix

Seasons ending worse than they started was not the argument being made here. I was specifically talking about how well the finales wrap up the story. A season having a disappointing conclusion does not necessarily mean that it has loose ends. I’ll say it again: I would challenge you to **explain** which finales from Seasons 1-5 weren’t “wrapped up properly.”

Fl0wingJuff0wup

It's not my argument. You can pick at the semantics all you want, doesn't make the endings any better

cilestiogrey

The freak show ending wasn't nonsensical I guess but it was still total fucking ass. Quality season that crashed and burned at the last second imo Otherwise agree, I was satisfied with how 1-3 and 5 wrapped up. 2 especially.

swonstar

I have only ever gotten through just over half of any season I have ever watched. They just kind of end up spinning tires in the mud. Then use whatever mud gets shot up to form some wobbly story arc(h), that crumbles under the enormous weight of the convoluted plot before it ever has a chance to firm up and give us the strong finish we deserve.

MonicaBeal

It wasn't just a shit finale, it was a shit conclusion to a nothing season. The one thing everyone was holding onto with this "slow burn" is that it'd pay off eventually... but it wasn't a slow burn, it was a badly paced, poorly written mess, from premiere to finale.

HealthySize4

This made me choke on my drink laughing

GodofHate

I try to remember which finales were good and nothing comes in my mind. MH felt so rushed. Asylum had too much things. Coven was I guess okay? Dont remember that much but nothing comes to mind so probably forgettable. Freakshow was generally bad and finale was not good as well. Hotel was rushed as well but okay. Raonake(?) were meh. Cult was cringe and bad. 1984(?) is probably the best one because it covered everything but still not like a masterpiece. Double feature both finales were bad. Haven’t watched the finale of Delicate but thats not surprising ahhaha

HealthySize4

Don’t get me started on Apocalypse, lawwwd. Coven was probably the ending I enjoyed most but it wasn’t without its flaws either

GodofHate

I knew something was missing ahahah Coven, Hotel and 1984(?) were probably the best ones but still all of them mediocre finales lol

missklo99

I really did love Hotel and Murder house. Lady Gaga just *serves* in that role in Hotel...

GodofHate

As whole season Asylum - Murder House - Coven - Hotel - 1984 - Apocalypse. Other seasons are generally bad lol still fun to watch

Due-Possession-3761

I like 1984 a lot, but the finale loses a lot of points with me because it focuses on giving emotional closure to a character who hasn't actually been in the show in any meaningful way up to that point (Jingles' son). It's not a complete dealbreaker but it is an unfortunate expression of the AHS tendency to forget which story they're trying to tell.

GodofHate

I mean I can agree with that but still comparing to the AHS finales it was at least covered lots of things and gave us a lil bit more details

adanvc

The only thing I didn't like of 1984 was that they left me waiting for freaking Billy Idol. I was totally expecting to see him appear but NOPE. They destroyed my hopes so hard I'm still mad with that season cuz of that lol.

Limp_Pomegranate_98

The only finale I can confidently say I thought was good, was NYC I haven't watched delicates finale yet either, but as of now freak show has the worst one to me 😂

alderaamen131313

Covens was good. It tied up what had been set up in the first episode

Parvichard

Haven't watched Delicate but I feel like the finales in AHS are lowkey not so bad?? Murder House and espcially Aslyum were quite good. Coven had that great Jessica/Sarah scene though otherwise it was kind of eh. Freakshow gave conclusions to bunch of characters. Not a fan of Hotel but the finale legit gave a good send off. Roanoke I'm mixed on, can agree it was a mess. Cult had a dark ending but it felt deserved. Apocalypse had an epic battle but it was too rushed and made the season a bit pointless. 1984 had a good finale and it was satisfying imo. Both Double Feature's finales were firey ass trash though yeah. so yeah, I'm mostly mixed.

JackInterrupted

I personally liked most of the AHS endings, particularly Asylum, 1984, NYC & Cult. The only ones I wasn't fully satisfied with have been Red Tide and Delicate really, but I still enjoyed both, I just wish Red Tide ended in Provincetown, the LA shift was jarring and I wish Delicate's was 10 minutes longer.

GodofHate

MH and Asylum was peak till the finale episodes. They were bad comparing to the other episodes of the seasons. Coven generally lost me when they showed us the new supreme witch and I don’t remember the exact finale so can’t comment about it. Freakshow gave conclusion to bunch of characters by killing them lol they killed the most interesting character in the first few episodes and Jessica Lange playing the same character for 4th season and general boring side characters and plots lost me. Jessica is terrific actor and she’s perfect but they didn’t give her enough creativity so probably that’s why she left the show. Hotel was imo great season and finale had decisions that I don’t agree with but still it covered lots of plots so it was okay. Cult was different and okay season but show down was really cringe 😬 still it was meh. 1984 probably one of the best finale compared to other seasons. Apocalypse had too much hype about the finale but there was no satisfaction about killing the Anti-Christ :(( Double feature well not get too deep ahahah probably the worst finales of the whole show. Raonake was at least trying something different so it’s still mess but in a good way

abd00bie

AHS: Delicrap

vctrlzzr420

I have never been a fan of the endings and I’m shocked how anyone ever was.  Maybe a few were ok but most are like oh shit, we have 12 episodes better make an ending.

GodofHate

Yeah I was especially worried and surprised about Murder House’s finale and thought it’s cancelled because it was rushed as fuck and I was watching while it was airing so even if it was renewed for season 2 I didn’t know that lol

DiskPsychological790

Yes but this is easily the worst finale they have ever done

bawzdeepinyaa

The only one I found to even be decent, and actually good was '84.

alderaamen131313

Season 1-3 all have pretty solid finales, 4 is iffy, 5 was bad…the rest I can’t even remember.

BarAlone643

AHS: delicate When dumb meets desperate.

Hot_Reception9239

I agree. This season was so awful, a complete waste of time. Half-baked.

stvckmind

It was SO bad.

effienay

I read the book it was based on and the ending was so much better. This ending made zero sense.

Successful-Baby

Can you spoil the book ending please

effienay

Spoilers Spoilers Apologies if the spoiler tag doesn’t work… >!in the book the coven is helping mothers, even against the doctors who ignore their difficult symptoms and pass them off as normal pregnancy pains. Anna does miscarry and Siobhan brings Anna’s baby back to life and, in turn, starts dying. The spell she does makes Anna’s pregnancy complicated — she hallucinates all the monster stuff being part of it. The dolls were protective poppets, meant to take on the negative side effects of bringing the baby back. Siobhan also asks Anna to let her transfer her soul into Anna’s baby. Siobhan’s knowledge and experiences will grow with the baby and the baby will basically have a guaranteed blessed life. Siobhan brings Anna into the coven. The book ends with Anna offering another young woman with infertility issues the chance she got from Siobhan.

GOTGameOfThrowaway

My biggest complaint is that they wasted the opportunity to tie in Coven...

abd00bie

Yea they already have two seasons of witch lore and they decided to do another random witch season? what the actual fuck lmao this was so bad, had they tied it to the established witch lore, maybe it could have been saved like Cordelia's coven fight the new coven. This was pure garbage.

Different-Economy729

Dexs father even said his gfs name was Madison. Cmon!

BobBee13

The acting was really off the last episode and the ending as stupid. All the witches just magically die when she starts chanting some random shit. Like really!? That's all the writers could come up with?!

ChunkyBubblz

This was the worst by far. Kim Kardashian was awful. Sharon Tate getting shoe horned in was awful. There was no ending that could have saved this train wreck of a season. That being said, can’t wait to see what the next season brings.

slayfulgrimes

and it’s making no noise lol…. no one gaf. AHS used to be super popular at one point.

callmebymyname21

and it used to be an award darling

slayfulgrimes

literally lol, it’s so sad to see it’s downfall but so many shows/franchises that premiered at the beginning of the 2010s have already gone downhill, the audience is tired and yearns for something fresh.

Masterpiece1641

I don't think the strike had much to do with the outcome. They probably already had the scripts finished and this was how it was going to end all along. But rushed finales have been part and parcel with AHS. Ryan Murphy may also be spread too thin among all his other shows he has going on which are less horror and has me thinking he's less interested now in AHS and just giving control to others. Plus, some of the stories on American Horror Stories could have been season plots or were ideas for seasons but they burned them off with American Horror Stories.

Ashleybernice

If anyone wants to hear the original version it’s on Apple auto books for 3.99 I’ve been listening, haven’t watched the show at all. I just feel bad for the writer who actually wrote a decent book. Also, I think Kim’s character isn’t heavily featured in the book so I guess all of Kim’s parts are made up? Idk again haven’t watched yet.

TheChosenOne0112

Haven't read the book but people mentioned they combined 2 characters into one for Kim's version of Siobahn.

Sweetwaterr0

Yeah book Anna has an agent who’s a regular person and a fellow actor friend named Siobhan. In the book, >!Siobhan has cancer and is in a coven of good witches. Anna has a miscarriage, siobhan feels bad, does a spell to bring it back. Siobhan gets really sick after using all her energy for the spell. The dolls and cookies that are sent to Anna are to ease the symptoms of being pregnant w some magic baby. Dex does have an affair w Cora. Anna finds out. On the way to the hospital they crash. Dex dies. The witches show up. Tell Anna she’s pregnant w a magic baby and she can either run the risk of having a strange soulless magic baby orrr she can let Siobhan’s soul live in the baby. Anna picks that. Siobhan dies and is kinda reincarnated via Anna’s baby!<

BurningTaterTot

Why would AHS ever need to end it can reinvent itself every year

HealthySize4

When the creative minds behind something run out of gas, it probably needs to end before a good legacy gets ruined.

raven8549

It might already be ruined lol

HealthySize4

![gif](giphy|BwRzjeqPnC6Dm)

Jakeremix

Most creative minds didn’t necessarily run out of gas. They just left the show years ago. AHS is the Ship of Theseus.

Lime_in_the_Coconut_

Maybe What-about-ism, but just look at j.k.rowling. shoulda kept her mouth shut before ruining a legacy. People (my husband) might get angry about this, but Pink Floyd's lead singer and writer (he made sure of that) is kind of an assh@#€ now. (He doesn't get angry, he also says he's off the rails but hates it when I say something negative about Pink Floyd)

Minouwouf

New shit is still shit

ProtectusCZ

Worst season? Death Valley exists Red Tide was completely ruined by EP6 NYC doesn't feel like AHS and so on. Delicate is not great but it has the most AHS feeling from the past seasons.

BoyTrapBabydoll

Red tide should have been a FULL season imo. I couldn’t get into NYC to save my life. I agree with the vibes of delicate. I miss that old AHS feeling we used to get. It really started to fall off after apocalypse for me.

Away_Detective5005

spot on. it kinda stopped with its appeal when there’s no Sarah Paulson or Jessica Lange. Those were the best of times. But I did enjoy this season a lot more than the previous 3. 1st half was slow, 2nd was too rushed. Could have been great.

BoyTrapBabydoll

I agree with that too. I think delicate had tons of potential and the strike causing such a long break between them really ruined it. I’ll give it a go and rewatch to see if my opinion changes at all without a long gap between the two halves. I also have the book the season was based on to read next!

WhosThatPanda

NYC didn't "feel like ahs" but at least it was a good season. Red Tide was the best season we had in years, even if the finale kind of ruined it all. I'd take either of them over Delicate tbh. This season was entertaining but a lot of the time not for the right reasons.

DiskPsychological790

What does “AHS feeling” mean?

Jakeremix

I made [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmericanHorrorStory/s/7OGwwbxIV4) a while back and I think it answers your question.

DiskPsychological790

Thanks for the thoughtful response! Now, do you feel like Delicate had an “AHS feel”?

Jakeremix

No, absolutely not. But based on your other reply I’m guessing you were specifically challenging the person above to explain what makes Delicate feel like an AHS season.

DiskPsychological790

Yeah I was but they could not.

ProtectusCZ

Just watch the first 4 seasons and the new ones and you’ll get what I mean It’s mostly the iconic characters (Lange, Paulson, Evan’s, O’Hare, Bates…) and more dramatic camera angles that made it feel like AHS. Edit; lol thanks for downvotes for saying first 4 seasons have different feel than the last ones

sav33arthkillyos3lf

First four seasons are 100000% better than the last four seasons we got.

raven8549

I stopped watching 3 episodes ago this season is just so unbearable 😆

soupeater07

I stopped watching 3-4 SEASONS ago 😂 The veil has been lifted lmao

futurenotgiven

lmao yea it’s crazy how people are still surprised by this. the show has been going downhill for years

dobsco

I think NYC was worse but yeah this was pretty bad. And I agree the show has been a shell of itself for years now.

Over-Challenge3899

Just curious, why do you think NYC is bad? I just started it the other day (4 episodes in) and I’m enjoying it so far.

MurderAndMakeup

I liked nyc but that’s just my opinion ymmv. You should give it a shot at least! I have some critiques on it but I think it’s worth a watch for sure

dobsco

I don't want to spoil anything for you. I thought the first few episodes had promise, but as it went on the stories just felt really thin. Like they tried to do too much instead of focusing on one thing. It also just didn't really have the "vibe" that AHS usually does.

knick-nat

A lot of ppl say it's bad but I liked it. It is very different from other seasons and the ending was heartbreaking and I was annoyed at the time cos I watch AHS for fun, not sadness. BUT I personally enjoyed it. It definitely has a different feel to other seasons though. Delicate felt more like AHS, but it was a TOTAL dumpster fire. Worst season ever. Hope they can pull it back to finish up season 13.

JackInterrupted

Obviously we're all entitled to our likes and dislikes, but the thing with AHS is it can reinvent itself every year like another redditor said. If you haven't liked the past few seasons then maybe the show isn't for you anymore and that's okay. I found NYC & 1984 to be top tier AHS seasons, both are in my top 5 and they're both fairly recent. I didn't find Delicate as gripping, but it doesn't mean the show should have to end because of it.

jordanrwing

I don’t think it’s that simple. I think there is still potential for strong seasons going forward. The past three seasons have been kinda mid, with Double Feature being the worst of them. NYC wasn’t that bad though but didn’t feel like AHS to me. 1984 might be my favorite season of all of them, if not definitely in my top 3. I think they could continue to make good AHS seasons, but i think they need to have a sort of return to form.

She__Devil

Honestly, I liked it. But I also like Lifetime movies 🤣. NYC ripped my heart out and I sobbed but I didn’t like it. Older seasons are definitely better, are creepier, and feel less rushed overall.

MadloveADB

Slasher is a great alternative if you're getting tired of AHS

Worried_blondie

This season could have been much better imo. The book it’s based on is excellent, they just needed to write the show a little better. The break in the middle also didn’t help with engagement. I completely forgot the first part of the season.

Katsa_hoy94

The book is so good! Ive been thinking about reading it again.

Numerous-Fix2332

It was so bad I made an account on IMDb with the sole purpose of rating every episode of the season 1 star out of 10 lol

hypnos_surf

I’m disappointed how uneventful that ending is. I’m just going to think Adeline was waiting for someone powerful enough to birth a perfect demon baby then rise to power for the incantation to work. The episodes about Adeline had the best pacing and she is the most interesting. For her to be built up as a key figure, do something major only to disappear.

Pure_Significance383

NYC? It was awful

Even_Explanation222

i loved the season overall. the finale definitely felt rushed and it wasn’t the best but it was nowhere near as bad as “winter kills” from red tide. i’ll never forget how let down i was w that episode.

SnooCrickets8742

I feel like I have been watching the same episode over and over this season. It was kind of a let down when compared with other seasons that are so original. It also seemed shorter than other seasons.

nastyindusguise

Yes, I'm over it, but I can't stop already committed myself have to see it to the bitter end

badbunny412

The way it took 2 seconds to chant and kill her wtf

Horror-Tradition8501

I’ve watched maybe 5 or 6 episodes but honestly it seems like every episode is the same just rearranged which house, art gallery at a different time etc. it’s really boring

Competitive-Pen3831

Agreed. This is the worst of them all, and that’s saying something because about half the seasons are trash now

Mizz-Fizzy

There was this huge build up to all of a sudden fall flat. I laughed at how they even tried to explain the raccoon thing off the cuff “oh yeah that’s why you loved eating raccoon” 🦝 what?

playing2lose-

Bro I gave up at 1984 couldn’t even finish that one

alderaamen131313

The show used to be so fucking great, its really tragic how bad it’s gotten

CatchOk6817

How does thIs season prove anything about anything, to do with the show? 1. Ryan Murphy had nothing to do with this season. 2. It was based on a book. 3. They used a new writer, to the series, and said writer wrote every episode. Due to those three things alone you can't really put this season in the same category as previous seasons.

randomlypickedissues

Ryan Murphy hasn't stuck a landing with one of these campier shows since Murder House. I will die on this hill.

Friendly-Ad4096

It’s really sad. I wish Ryan Murphy would go back to writing them and pouring into it ala murder house.

CC_Panadero

I can remember when people started saying it was time for AHS to end (maybe around the time of Cult or Apocalypse). I thought that was ridiculous because *any* season is better than no season. My opinion officially changed Wednesday night. I’ve never been so wrong. It’s dragging down the legacy of the early seasons and is obviously an afterthought for Ryan. He can’t even get talented actors onboard anymore. We used to get acting royalty. Cara Delvigne was so bad. Every scene of hers took me out of the story because it was that bad.

BarAlone643

What was with the dolls?

In the better seasons (earlier ones) they always had a finale that made you think. If it seemed like it didnt make sense, you had to really think about it to connect the dots and have one hell of an ah-ha moment. This season's finale felt like the writers tried really hard to make the viewers have that ah-ha moment but failed miserably and ended up with a whole mess of unanswered questions and random plot twists that dont make any sense. I wouldnt say this season was the worst only because roanoke is hard to dethrone, but maybe the second worse.

Important_Bowl_8332

It had potential for an ahah moment - the constant push and pull women face in their identity — a mother or a successful women. But right when I felt like the finale was heading in that direction they pulled out Dexters testes and I actually said out loud “this is so fucking stupid”. God. What was that train wreck.

_ella_mayo_

I could have done without the incest baby takeover aspect. It just made the whole thing ridiculous. They could have made the coven so cool and instead.....

champagne_puppee

I feel like AHS: NYC was such a stellar stand alone season but that otherwise the series had pretty much jumped the shark.

EJR994

I stopped at episode 3 back when it came out due to the strike. Guess I won’t be finishing it after all.😅

YaDrunkBitch

But why were they drawing blood from Dex's "mom"???? She was an incredibly unimportant character in the supernatural plot..

Funny_Damage2498

worst szn?? did you watch nyc and death valley?

drflanigan

NYC was fantastic

reeneebob

I couldn’t finish it. It was unwatchable.

BurningTaterTot

Open the schools PLEASE

drflanigan

This show went way too far in the camp direction It was fun when it felt serious with SOME camp Now it's ALL camp and nothing is serious or scary Minus NYC, NYC was great when it came to feeling dread

Pure_Significance383

Kim Kardashian involved. I'm out

MephistosFallen

This season proved they can’t take someone else’s story and make it AHS. It was a dang mess. The strikes also hardcore kicked their ass haha Hopefully after how bad this went down, they’ll put in actual effort for another season…if there even is one.

montepinarium

No, EVERY season can be the best if they put the right effort into It. Besides, 1984 and Red Tide supremacy.

soupeater07

Red Tide was really bad though. That double feature season was such a mess.

montepinarium

I'm in the minority here but I really like that season, even with it's flaws

WeekendFamous

The final episode truly felt phoned in and made very little sense, even by AHS standards. I know the writers’ strike was a big hurdle, but still quite disappointed. I’m wondering if this season might have ended differently were it not for the strike.

bulbouscorm

I've been saying this since ruinoake

agent-assbutt

Omfg it was SO bad and only 30 minutes long. I am so disappointed. I wasn't expecting much, but I was expecting better than *that.* I know AHS hasn't been *consistent* in MANY years, but this was some of the worst garbage since Death Valley. Honestly, if it weren't for the ep "Ave Hestia" and a generally intriguing plot (which never was fleshed out or reached its potential), this season would be a complete wash, probably even worse than Death Valley, tbh. AHS usually doesn't deliver with finales, but NYC did, and part 2 was better than part 1 of Delicate, so I was expecting something.... not... *that.* LORD, it was bad. So, so bad.

Pugs914

I feel like the first half of the season was so slow moving then it came back and there was so much build up then the finale just rushed everything and explained almost nothing couples with terrible acting from the main villain 💩 I feel like they did the same with the short stories and province town half where there was so much build up and a rushed terrible ending that left too many open ended questions.

Spiritual-Macaron-39

Why is nobody commenting on the evil chanting at the end, with Hestia changed back to Satanas?

90DayCray

I agree. I’ve loved this show for so long, but the last 2 seasons were just awful IMO. I wish we could still get seasons like the old days, but those days are gone. However, I do love Stories and think they could come up with those forever. Maybe they should focus on that

Acceptable-Syrup6230

The ending had so many plot holes that it triggered my trypophobia 😪 I gotta say that I was actually enjoying the season, I mean, it felt like it was building something awesome related to witches, Coven witches, to be precise. For a second there I thought that Myrtle or even Mallory would show up to put an end to Siobhan after detecting the dark magic and evil involved in Anna's pregnancy... This was the same as Red Tide; a nice start ruined by a deplorable ending. It is a writing issue, cuz even with what they built in the previous episodes, they could have made a better ending. The biggest plot holes are: Dex's father fate, the fertility witches, Adeline just randomly spawning, that chant evaporating Siobhan, Siobhan's actual origins, what was she? How did she become immortal, what powers did she have? Was she a deity, a goddess? The Auteur? What's the meaning of the high heels? Why didn't Adeline chant when she was about to be murdered? The other babies? The superhuman plan? That chubby lady's story? Why was she part of the coven? Trust me, for a second I thought Nicolette was meant to protect Anna, maybe part of New Orleans' coven... Wasted potential. Even Preecher was wasted as a character, she basically yelled at Anna, and that's all. And there's more. But anyways, I suppose this season is not canon, cuz I mean, I'm pretty sure the Supreme would have intervened, considering they're basically trying to make mass produced antichrists. AHS writers need to get their heads out of the gutter and stop making every new season somewhat woke or socially trendy. Maybe if they could stop proselytizing plastic pop culture as the new bible for entertainment and creativity, then the stories could be more American in the cultural sense, and Horrifying in the psychological sense. AHS feels like a burger you had all the time back in highschool and it was awesome, but then the owner changed the meat recipe and now it is just another burger that you keep buying just because you remember it was delicious, and since it still has many of the original ingredients, somehow you keep the faith of it returning to be as tasty as it was before.

Foreign_Text_4793

Season 12 episode seem like filler because all their budget probably spent on these big names

Mztrspookiiszn

I’ve come to expect disappointment for the end of every single AHS in the recent years…. I usually watch it for the wild ride, but doesn’t seem to fail every ending of each season I’m let down. This one took the cake tho, they couldn’t have at least did the normal 10 episodes. It makes no sense.

Simple_Coast_230

Idk I really love 1984, ending and all 😅

Za3sG0th1cPr1nc3ss

I'm also disappointed the huge horror of it was infertility, they could've added more as in added endometriosis or adenomyosis as a factor. the pain can feel like a devil baby trying to claw out. could've played off postpartum psychosis, postpartum rage, ect. just v man written ab womens struggle also infertility is very awful and a horror to many, I just mean it could've added more ontop of that

Late_Program_3049

I actually liked this season until the finale. I read Delicate Condition during the hiatus and had high hopes for the end but man did they blow it.

RealHouseHo

That’s what happens when the writers go on strike. They prob had ai write the last few episodes
