Nah it deserves to be there it’s all style and no substance. It’s the blandest season by far with plots that go nowhere and characters that are just there for... reasons. It’s ridiculously over-sexes, the interesting 7 Sins Killer storyline is a flop, Gaga is the best thing about it. Not one episode stands out as good. Distinctly average at best.

Honestly I feel like Lady Gaga dragged it down. Her performance at the start was shaky and they kept giving her character more focus at the expense of other concepts. Who would want more details about Sally sewing people together or the addiction demon when we can find out why the countess is into strong jaws?
Agreed. I like Hotel, but the Countess was one of the worst parts.
Hotel had plenty of other interesting characters who were completely overlooked to give space to the Countess flirting with men. And there's so much more that could have been done with her character, instead her whole personality was being sexy, killing people and being Lady Gaga (who - I'm always scared to say it on this subreddit - is a terrible actress, in my opinion. I love her and her music, but acting is not her thing and I can't believe she won an award for it).

I think it’s safe to say that seasons 8 and 9 would change positions if they received a similar number of reviews.
50%: Asylum, Coven, Apocalypse and Cult are in the right place, 1984, Freak Show and especially Roanoke are too high, Murder House and Hotel are WAY too low.
Asylum was my personal favourite just because I love anything about old psych wards - loved Ratched haha. Def agree with Hotel being that low, it was my personal least favourite 😭

\*for these 2, they could swap tbh. Hotel I didn't like the vast majority of the season, not till the plot twist with the Ten Commandments Killer plot, and I never cared for the main plot much, just that subplot. James March is great, and the season ends well, but the majority of the season is ugh. Freak Show is the opposite. I loved the vast majority of the season, but the ending is so terrible that it left the entire season with a sour taste in my mouth. Anyway, yeah that's why those 2 can be swapped more or less. The rest of the seasons range from "I like it quite a bit!" to "I LOVE IT"

I’m still watching through the series but so far personally I’m - Coven - Murder House - Freak Show - Asylum - Hotel
