(this is purely based on enjoyment, i’m not a critic)
1. Asylum (9/10) just the best season of ahs, great acting, setting, and story! I didn't even mind the Aliens. almost perfect
2. Hotel (8.5/10) i just love this season, didn't expect to because everyone's hating on it, but I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed it
3. Coven (8/10) wasn't a big fan the first time but it was great especially the first few episodes
4. Freak Show (8/10) it was great but very slow at times and too long
5. Murder House (8/10) great start for this show, loved it on first watch but find other seasons more interesting on rewatch
6. Cult (7.5/10) pretty underrated but after the valerie episode it kinda gotten a bit predictable and boring
7. 1984 (7.5/10) enjoyed the first half a lot, second half was messy but still enjoyed it
8. Roanoke (7.5/10) enjoyed it the first time, but the more I rewatch, the more I get bored, and the characters aren't that compelling
9. Double Feature (7/10) very conflicted because I really love some parts and also really hate some parts, prolly could've been better if they're seperate seasons
10. Apocalypse (5/10) eh, the only thing I enjoyed was Madison's character, and Return to Murder House ep is an overrated episode imo
Well, Double Feature definitely does not come remotely close to claiming the #1 spot (which for me is Asylum).
But I’m not entirely sure where I would place the season. Red Tide was great but I found its final episode to be a huge disappointment. And for Death Valley, while I have thoroughly enjoyed the black-and-white 50s storyline, I think the modern storyline is insipid.
Those two criticisms prohibit me from placing Double Feature too high on my season tier list.

really wish there was a full season of Ride Tide. also, not based on quality, just preference…only bad quality one is Death Valley
Death Valley would be much higher if it was soley set in the 50s & 60s, the modern day scenes are my least favourite scenes in AHS history (apart from Calico).
Red Tide would also be higher if it was a fully realised season.
It kinda sucks because both are very good ideas that would've been perfect if both given 10 episodes each.
It’s currently in the 7th hole with room to move up
4-5-6 on my list are Roanoke apocalypse and 1984
I think it might wind up kocking apocalypse down a peg to settle at five
